Hey Early Access Patrons!

So later this month we will have a doc on the history of Arkane Studios, but due to some of the content in it we may have a smaller early access window than we usually have. That's why we're getting this one to you almost a full week ahead of it's release next Tuesday (at morning time in the UK, just like this one) .

In fact this documentary on the history of Creative Assembly is one of my favorites. Not only because it's hosted by Chris Bratt of People Make Games (I'm a big fan), but because it has all the stuff I want in a Noclip doc; video game history, design insight, and deeply personal stories.

I usually do an early access thumbnail for the video, but honestly this shot is kind of perfect once you've heard the story.

Let us know what you think of it.

Great documentary Chris and Danny. It's bitter sweet hearing Tim's retelling of his departure.

Loved the doc. But man. Heartbreaking story. I still love the tw series but I do miss the feel Tim brought to the games.

With the exception of Alien Isolation I've never played any CA games but I really enjoyed that doc. Very much looking forward to the Alien Isolation doc now. I thought Chris did especially well with Tim's interview. (Did you catch that brief Tim ghost at 48:07?)

Hah yeah I did last night actually and re rendered the project. Thanks for the heads up though! Glad you liked it!

LP

A very unexpectedly poignant documentary about a game studio that I knew very little about. Great work by Chris, Jeremy and everyone who was involved on it!

Xin Bin

Super job, very cool to see a new guest host! It sounds odd to type, but I really appreciate the interviews (like Astroneer) that delve into the personal (and inter-personal) difficulties that go along with development.

I'll be honest: I loved the whole of this documentary, but the little blurb about another video on their making of Alien Isolation really grabs my interest. That remains a game I own, really love the atmosphere, but cannot bring myself to play because they did such a good job on capturing the world of Alien.

Christopher Kelly

Perfect description of how I feel about it. Cannot bring myself to 100% it. They made a fantastic game and I am so annoyed they haven't made a sequel.

Christopher Kelly

Great documentary and so excited for the Alien Isolation doc. It is such a great game that I'm so glad it's getting a deeper dive than what was in this doc. I love seeing Chris guest host as have followed him since he left Eurogamer. Great presenter.
