Hey Patrons!

This was a fun one to produce. Our documentary on the design of Loop Hero has gone through several production loops of its own. The interviews were conducted by myself (Danny), but through a Russian interpreter. Then the edit was passed to Jeremy who also filmed his first stand-ups and recorded his own voice-over. Then we had a few feedback loops before I reconnected with our interpreter to make sure the subtitles were accurate.

It's been a long road, and we're still finalizing all the English and Russian captions for this one (we will also have it in Russian for gamers in the developers home country) but this is otherwise the final edit.

Happy to hear any feedback you have - this one doesn't go live until next week.

Let us know what you think!

Danny

PS: Thanks for your understanding with the slower output of patron stuff this month. I've spent the past few weeks dealing with some pressing family stuff and while Jeremy and Frank have been helping me keep the documentaries on schedule, some of the other stuff - like Location Scout - has been hard to keep up with.

Another Fantastic Documentary, Its a Great Game, also I like it when a successful game uses Gamemaker, it gives me hope that one of my games will become a big success too,.. :)

I think the biggest compliment I can give you is that EVERY SINGLE TIME a doc finishes I'm like "wait, what? that was [insert runtime here]? but I just hit play!" and then I'm sad but also happy at the same time because your f'cking killing it. Looooved the hero's journey connection and how it still fits well even though it's supposed to be so on the nose and can we please get Jeremy to sit in a chair and read Poe's The Raven? Just, as a patron exclusive mini 😂😉 Really freshens up the overall content a bit, just like Alanah with her doc. Thanks for improving my weekend (again) a little bit ☺️

FWIW I'd consider a version with hardsubs, but I get it's a tradeoff.

Also, you've got backslashes (\) in your overlays? I'm not sure why it looks odd but I'm pretty sure forward slashes are standard (writer/director/actor)

Great wee doc! (Maybe it just feels wee after Dishonored...) Nice job stepping in front of the camera, Jeremy, and on the edit too.

Amazing intro Jeremy, and great work !!

I don't know if you have access to Izotope RX, but it should be able to make short work of that clicking in that one person's recording

Oh thanks I’ll look into it!
