Hey Patrons,

A bit of a change this month but something loads of you have been requesting for a long time. On this episode of Edit Club I dive into my process for Thumbnail design; exploring the creation of some of our older thumbnails, taking a look at some upcoming thumbs and even trying a hand at making a new one.

If you have any questions (or suggestions for future videos) please stick them in the comments below. I'm more than happy to answer.

Enjoy the show!

Emergent Beacon

My brain was vibrating at a frequency only dogs can hear when I saw a single thumbnails folder with literally all of your thumbnails, haha. Also all the unlabeled layers in PS! 💀 Bickering aside, it's interesting to see the methodology, as always. Funny to see different approaches with the same results as well; I've never used the "gradient overlay" feature in PS in my entire life and I've used PS since I was like 10 years old, didn't even know it existed. I'm an aggressive mask user, so I would either have a black layer masked with a gradient or just mask the image (or folder with multiple comped images) -- but hey, whatever gets the job done. Nobody thinks about what technique you used on a thumbnail when they're deciding to click it.
