Hey Early Access Patrons,

We're delighted to be finally back visiting AAA studios and making docs on big games to supplement our indie and retrospective work. In this one we talk about the process of remaking The Last of Us for the PlayStation 5. We had a lot of fun putting it together but of course if you see anything in here that you think needs fixing / improving, we'd love to know.

This one isn't going live until Tuesday the 14th so we hope you enjoy this early access window.

More videos coming this month including some extended cuts from these interviews.

Hey Danny, Just a few quite minor consistency notes, though I'm unsure if it's worth a re-edit/reupload: First: At 4:34, the lower third has TLoU Pt. II as PS5, but it's a PS4 game (though I know it had a PS5 patch and maybe was what Frank captured it on? Again; minor). Second: Of the six segments, you call the first three "Parts" (understandable), but for the latter three, you call them "Chapters." I'm sure you would prefer it be "Parts" based off the games, so if so: 4 is at 20:13, 5 is at 27:35, and 6 is at 31:50. And lastly: The side by side comparison from 34:09 to 34:20 is out-of-sync unlike the rest of the doc As I said, these are the things I noticed, but didn't impact my enjoyment of it. Great work to the entire team all around! Really enjoyed this one!

Fantastic job! Regarding the out-of-sync side comparison note above, I thought that was done on purpose, so the viewer could focus the left side, then move to the right and see the same scene again. And actually compare. I liked that. 50 minutes flew by, and I really want to replay TLoU 1.

Oh thanks those are definitely errors. Appreciate the heads up!

I just finished the remake and not a single time did I think: well, this was different than in the original game. You so often take it for granted that studios manage to recreate the look and feel of the source material in a remake (it's their game, so why wouldn't they?!). But after watching the doc I feel it's much clearer, how this always means starting from scratch. And that's never easy. So: kudos to Naughty Dog. And kudos to NoClip for having educated me on my favourite hobby once again. :D Great doc!
