again, can we get unlisted YouTube links for patreon videos that are longer than 5 minutes? I don't want to hold my phone for 30+ minutes with a crap patreon video player that fails playback every 2 minutes :/

Benjamin Lawlor

+1 for the YT link. Haven't been able to watch any of the last few video updates since they're impossible to cast to my TV.

Mark Craven

"Best sports game ever made" A small game called Jonah Lomu Rugby would like a word!

Jazz Jackrabbit

Just want to echo what others have said about having these on YouTube as well. It's also my preference as I like to watch them on my TV. Super stoked for NHL 94 though. Can't wait!

Brandon Figueroa

Yes, get that ice rink reserved for the NHL 94 video. Your road trip to the desert for Half Life added a certain charm to the whole thing. Do it again.

Mitch Dyer

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOCLIP <3 Very stoked for the next docs, Danny <3

Michael Peppler

I remember being able to skate from left to right and getting the puck past the goalie every time. Probably a lower difficultly but I loved it as a child.

Logan Johnson

Danny, I'm so heartened by this whole update, but especially the Secret Tape insights. I hope it allows you and the team some financial freedom and not feel like you're limited by any controllable variable. I appreciate your efforts to make, as you said, "a healthier Noclip than ever before." NOCLIP FOREVER. <3

Logan Johnson

Can only speak as someone with a Google phone and a Chromecast device, but, I can cast from the Patreon app to my Chromecast on Patreon vids no problem. Recommend it if ya can.

"europeans wouldn't spend money hockey"?!?! You forgot that finland and sweden are in europe, danny? now madden? yeah, that's some nonsense for a 90's european :D

RayceARoni

Love the merch, would definitely throw some money at Dwarf Fortress art-related merch

Andrew Franges

It's awesome to hear you're in a great mood, Danny. Definitely let us know when the Secret Tapes videos go out. I think we'll all be happy to support you and the team.

Interesting local story about the early NHL series: EA actually released special Megadrive/Genesis versions of NHL 95 and 96 in Sweden called Elitserien 95 and 96. The game was the same, but the players, teams and league format, as well as the trophy and pre-match game analyst, were from the Swedish ice-hockey league. (In a realistic touch, even the rinks were slightly bigger than in North America.) The game was programmed by a 3-member studio called Neurostone who met through the vibrant Swedish demo scene of the time. It was created on the initiative of the Swedish branch of Sega who, in order to get a foot in the door at the Swedish hockey league, even bought an official sponsorship and branded the helmets of all the real-life teams with the Sega logo. All the team coaches (some very reluctantly) sent Excel sheets ranking the separate skills of all their own players, which Sega then had to try to balance out fairly. EA agreed to approve the project if they could count on 20,000 game orders (the Swedish install base for the Megadrive was around 60,000 at that time), so it was a big risk, but they ended up selling almost double that amount. It was also a success for Sega: as a popular local console exclusive, it helped the Megadrive distinguish itself and catch up with the SNES. For reference (in Swedish, with lots of unique photos): https://martinlindell.com/2017/09/16/elitserien-pa-mega-drive/

Patreon player is not the best, YT would be strongly preferred for these updates.

Very curious to see what the future other stuff will be!
