And let us not forget the feedback post. One last time I'm asking for your final thoughts on the game, to see what I can learn from finishing MIST.I don't take offense to criticism, so feel free to be open and honest. It makes the game better.

More fj scenes would be be nice

Not really criticism but I wanted to point it out anyway: Although I disliked parts of Mia's personality, I'm very glad you added a rather petite but still mature character in the game (that is way too rare imo). And I hope the Steam bs doesn't discourage you to do so in the future. 👍 As for criticism, there's only one thing that bothered me a bit: I'd have loved to see more player agency in some scenes / choices how to deal with characters. In the end it's still a game, not a novel or some such. But I do understand that it can be very costly to add choices in a narrative heavy game. Maybe adding a few "opt-out" points would help. 🤷‍♂️

Not a criticism just a suggestion. Your story was well written, with characters having enough depth to be memorable enough. Saying that happy ending was achieved to easily. For players to come back again and again you want weight and meaning behind player choices. To make it stand out from you last game and most other try using 2DCG. It does make it much harder develop, though in my opinion it's well worth the time and effort invested.

Overall, this was really well done. The characters are interesting and lean into their tropes without feeling flat. Having each of the girls have their own background and perspective helped a lot there. Speaking of the girls, at first, I didn't really like the look of the characters. After playing for a while, however, they really started to come alive and the unique styling makes the whole game much more distinctive. It was a good choice to go with the stylized look. Generally, mini games in Visual Novels don't work. Half the time they are implemented poorly and the other half they fight against the themes that are being used. In this case, I think the fighting struck the right balance of simplicity while supporting the story and the mood the game was using. Not sold on the fishing mini game though. I also really liked the magic system that was developed. It felt internally consistent and was used well for some interesting kinks. I think the biggest miss in the story, though, is how little the magic was used to solve the food problem after the group finds themselves in the caves. There are a couple of easy ideas that seem like missed opportunities. For example, you could have a threesome with Robin and use her powers to make the fruit edible (after all, fruit wants to be eaten), but I'm sure there are other workable ideas too.

What is left but to echo sentiments expressed elsewhere? The graphics need some adjustment on the part of the player, but are a welcome breath of fresh air, and leave but a pleasant aftertaste. The writing (some very few, very minor spelling mistakes notwithstanding) is excellent, and I very much believe that it works as both a game and, perhaps more importantly, a story. It had me on the edge of my seat and multiple twists during the second attack, or as regards the fate of the MC; with malign intent; dare I add and with regard to potential tabletop exploits kept it engaging throughout. I was, further, quite pleasantly surprised with freeroam, as I still had some stargazing and bathhousing to do, and the variety of the gameplay, with the QTEs. Due praise aside (and cut short, as implied previously, I share most positive sentiments expressed, even if not explicitly listed), there were the most minor of flaws a perfectionist can't help but notice. As previously mentioned, some spelling mistakes remain, the gun was never rendered and some funky quirks in the engine seemed to remain (when, for example, engaging in anal with Robin or pinching Mia's nipples. In some scenes orifices also seem to have an opening on the other side.). There also seemed to be the slightest issue in internal logic (the bombium being at the cave), but it is a lovingly crafted world. That most minor of complaints, result perhaps from an oversight of the reviewing party aside, however and one is left with naught but praise for a meticulously crafted universe, that may well deserve another entry and, at least for a duration, the financial contribution from a student on a hamstrung budget, to, at the very least, compensate for the price of admission that would have barred from entry at more noble an establishment. It's perhaps worth noting that while there is no room for player agency (you can't hoard ammunition, or focus on specific weapons, ranged or close-combat, the most you could do is refuse to level up or refuse to engage the flavor content, for whatever reason), I feel it is of no detriment to the game, as characters and setting mesh well enough for you to forget it (and why should there be a uniform way to craft a story for a medium that allows player interaction, the VN?) and it might perhaps, counterintuitively, be to its benefit. Nothing is more unsatisfying than the illusion of choice (which is why Origins was the only good entry in the series, superbly good at that) and a committal to a branching narrative, cynically speaking, must find some justification through player response. If I provide two branches, yet already hardly anyone makes use of Path B on the first branching, I might just provide supply a good for which there is no demand. Edit: You might have noticed this was ported over, with some minor adjustment, to account for Patreon's inability to provide formatting help and spoilers not being a concern here. What I had reserved for Patreon was the following: the responsibility for compensation seems to partly arise from the desire to give the craftsmen his due share after years of labour, and I had felt it important enough to copy it here, as, for very similar reasons, I believe you ought to see words of encouragement and confirmation, both. Lastly I would have mentioned that my financial hardship arises, too, from me, just last week, having been given over to charitable giving, which I am lucky enough to have been taught the value of, which, nonetheless, sees a poor student strap his belt a bit tighter. Have a good vacation!

You really are a talented VN writer/animator, no doubt about the next game, at least you get my insignificant approval! Will definitely support your future products!!!!

Was there ever a decision about releasing the final version for lower-tier patrons that have been around a while?

I heard about your game from youtube channel sex positive. I think your game Mist is very well paced. I was wondering as a writer do you consider yourself a gardener (for example creating the story gradually without a clear ending right away) or a architect ( you meticulously plan everything from beginning to end )

I don't really see myself clearly on either side. I do what I need to do for the particular story and scene I'm writing and I don't think too much about it. In MIST I was mainly improvising as I didn't have enough time to properly plot things out back then, but for my next game I took more care. I fleshed out the characters and plotpoints in advance while leaving everything else a bit vague so I have time to react and adapt to spontaneous needs and ideas. And obviously my new game isn't finished yet and we'll have see how that works out : D
