I promised you guys another post this week where I talk a bit more about what is going on with me and my life, more or less. It's totally fine if you don't care or want to read about those things, but my main goal was to always tell people if things are coming in the way of my work. I will try to keep this post simple and short, though, and I won't get into too much personal details.

My mental health has been pretty bad since March because of reasons I don't want to talk about publicily. It's something very private and it doesn't impact work on my games, it's something that "gets to me" when I'm not working. So not much to say there, I guess, sorry.

The other thing, which is impacting my work more than I thought, is my physical health. As I said about a month ago, I had a very scary heart and blood pressure related issue where I actually thought thats it ( I thought it was a cardiac arrest for quite a while ). After I've been to my doctor and also visited a cardiologist, it was confirmed that my heart is "okay" , that my heart muscle is bigger because of my blood pressure but that there was no cardiac arrest etc. I've gotten some new meds and I think I adjusted fine. Now it's a constant up and down, I would say. Sometimes I feel dizzy for no reason, I feel light headed and I feel like I have a fever even though my blood pressure seems normal. I decided to work out a bit every day for at least 15 to 30 minutes - Which usually means riding the bike at home or going for a walk. I'd say its gotten "better", at least I never had this feeling again that I had a month ago, but sometimes I still feel pretty bad, and I have no idea why. I'm sitting at the pc, writing something for My New Memories or My New Family and feel very uneasy out of nowhere. Sometimes it's so bad that I have to lay down, with a red head because it feels like I have a fever. I have no idea what it is but it's... Scary. Especially when this happens before I sleep, I sometimes think "I'm not going to wake up tomorrow because my heart just stops in my sleep."

Okay, this all sounds scarier than it probably is. I had 2 EKGs and a ultrasound, if my heart was in danger they probably would have told me. Maybe it's just my body having to adjust to the meds I'm taking, or it just takes a little longer for my body to adjust to me trying to be "Healthy" in general. No idea, I just hope it's temporary.

This already has been longer than I wanted it to be and I apologize for that. But my health issues are probably the reason that everything seems kinda "delayed" by now. I planned to release Chapter II of My New Memories in may - at the latest. And all I achieved so far is 60% completion of 2/3 days. I'm not trying to make up excuses here, really, but I'm actually sorry that everything seems to take longer than it used to. This is not how I used to be and I hope that with time, I can return to my "old self" in regards to work. It fucking sucks when your body is acting weird and stopping you from doing something you really enjoy - making wholesome adult games. Thanks for sticking around and being an awesome community, really. It means a lot to me that you guys are so understanding when it comes to these things.

As a little bonus, I added a very special render to this post. It's Sarah and the MC, enjoying some time in the playground, a few months after she was adopted into the family. I initially wanted this to just be a fun render, but I think this one will actually be in the game!

Take it slowly it takes time to adjust to new conditions in life .Be well and try to adjust slowly to the new " normal " in your life .a life lesson it took me long time to learn.

I skimmed through it but I would say take it slow take breaks and maybe the scare causes anxiety I have bad super bad anxiety the other night I woke in the middle of the night felt like I was going to pass out I was sweating super bad and I just breathed tried to relax I went back to bed and ending up falling asleep I’m not saying everything that’s happening to you is anxiety but maybe it’s a mix I’m no doctor just my personal experiences anxiety is the worse I haven’t left my home in months loud noises cause me to panic and nearly pass out doctors told me my anxiety causes my blood pressure to go up because I’ve gone to the doctor with high blood pressure as well I hope you get better though

Man heart shit is some of the scariest stuff to deal with because you don't know what's happening but you can feel and go through everything while it's happening, glad you are ok

M2

Bloody hell, anything to do with the heart is always the most terrifying thing to have to deal with. I'm glad you're feeling a little better Killer. Just please don't feel like you need to rush or work harder ok? We're more than happy for you to go at whatever pace you feel most comfortable at.

It's sounds like you have a handle on it with the exercise, I hope your eating for your health also. Everything in moderation. My wife keeps an eye on my eating and exercise. The render is great and take care of yourself first, games second or third. Depends on priorities in your life.

Solstorm

Sometime cardiac/blood pressure meds can cause a flush feeling/hot. because is dilates the blood vessels. let your doc know though.

Equinox

Wishing you all the best from good ol´Germany.... Keep an Eye on you and adjust your Work to yourself, not the other Way.

I know what it's like to have your body stop you from doing anything. I used to walk everywhere, I could walk for hours, now I can't even walk to my letterbox without having to stop on the way back into my house. So YOU have to get yourself better before you can return to making the games, take as long as you need :)

I know you feel the need to apologize, but I think I can speak for everyone when I say we totally understand. Anyone's health is important. Mental and physical. And as had been said already, when it involves something with the heart, your mind and body have to act differently. I am glad to hear that your actual heart is good, and I hope it is just an adjustment to the new way you have to life (meds, exercise and such). So keep getting yourself healthy.

Health comes first, is always been my saying. Cause I have a heart condition where my heart does stop while I sleep usually for 4 to 5 seconds, thankfully you have the support of all your patreons backing you.

Peter Peiffer

Take care of yourself. Health is more important than release dates and I'll happily continue to support you, if you decide to take it slower. Your games are worth waiting for!

Douglas Logan

I had heart problems and had a stent fitted to open my artery and have learned to accept it it was not easy at first but you learn to stop worrying about it

Maybe you should also try to work on your mental health in parallel? It might be one of the reasons you get sort of panic attacks and with an already burdened/impaired cardiac system this might escalate pretty quick. So while taking care of your body please do not forget to also do something about you spirit. You want to make wholesome games, to keep doing so you might need to take a wholesome approach to your health issues. And forget timelines and stuff as it also puts additional pressure on you. If working on the games is some kind of therapy for you then keep doing it but don't feel pressured at any point to deliver results asap. We all here understand and stay at your side. And whoever does not understand can stick his money up his ass and go somewhere else ;-) We all want to keep enjoying your lovely games and this will not happen if your health breaks down. So take care of yourself first. Most of us will still be here once you are better!

Henry Hopkinson

Your health is much more important than any game no matter how great the game is. Do what the doctors say. We all will keep you in prayer.

Chris harvey

I really hope you bounce back soon mate. take care of yourself.
