Public Dev-log #8 (Patreon)

Another Monday means another Dev-log, and this one is special because it's right after a brand new release!

Release Schedule

Loyal Fan - Today

Core Fan - June 13th

Fan (Along with full release) - June 20th

Public Release - July 4th (yeehaw!)

This is the current plan, should it change I always aim to give you a weeks notice.

So I always tend to do a little debrief in the public log after a release that is spoiler free, so I'll continue that tradition here.

I think the art is best it's been since I started, turns out the more you do something the better you become at it... who knew!?

But with me getting better I also found that I'm getting a little slower as my standards and technical ability improve. That and as I try to make all the routes feel unique with their own choices and kinks it does take me longer to produce. Not sure when just yet but I might need to revisit my release schedule and find a rhythm that works for me. I think you'll agree I'm producing a lot of content quite quickly and as much as I love doing it, it does come at the cost of me having little to no time to myself as I still work full time in my real life job and I don't want to get myself sick or burn out.

Ideally the game would be able to support either myself or Creme so we can spend the time we would at our jobs solely on the game, but we're still a ways away from that for the time being. I have a couple idea's I'm flouting at the minute, one would be a 4/5 week schedule where I release two routes every 4/5 weeks, rather than all four every 6 weeks. The obvious pro is you get new content sooner, and I get 8/10 weeks total to make the updates. The drawback is the game will likely take longer to finish, but a healthy and happy dev equals a healthy and happy game!

I haven't fully made my mind up yet what will work best for me but I would rather have a transparent and open conversation about it now than bamboozling you with random delays down the line.

I'll have hopefully made my mind up after Chapter 4 is finished and we'll take it from there but as always I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions on this matter.

TLDR, Creamy needs more time to stay fresh so he can keep doing what y'all love.
