Supporter dev-log #12 (Patreon)

Oh boy... it's the last dev-log before release!

Alright... I'm going to put it down to coincidence, but that's two end-screen polls in a row that haven't gone my way. I know I'm supposed to be a man of the people, but that doesn't mean I can't be biased! We could have had a badass Airi Athena charging down from the heavens in a chariot!

I'll take the blame for this one though... Airi is a sex goddess, so Aphrodite was a very fitting choice.

I'm on the final stretch now. There's still plenty left to do, but I'm feeling really comfortable with both the workload and the time I have left.

Which means...

Everything is on schedule!

Chapter 5 will release on August 1st at 4 PM EST (as is tradition) for Super Fans. I'll be hanging out in the Discord giving live updates, but as things stand I have absolutely no reason to expect any delays.

Woohoo!

I've had an absolute blast making this update, and I've learned a huge amount in the process. Before Chapters 4 and 5, I felt a little at the mercy of whatever images I could generate. These days I'm much more comfortable bending the tools to create the scenes exactly as I imagine them.

If I get the time, I think it'd be fun to write a little behind-the-scenes post explaining how I make the artwork for the game. Most of the CGs now are created by "Frankensteining" together lots of different assets rather than relying on a single generated image. I genuinely think the game looks much better because of it, and if you don't mind me saying so, I'm really proud of how far the visuals have come.

This update has been a particularly interesting challenge because it's all about delivering on the payoff. After ending Chapter 4 with that cliffhanger, I had to find someway of making it up to you all. I really hope you'll agree it was worth the wait.

Because this is the update you've all been waiting for.

I haven't heard too much feedback on the Airi Archive that I posted. I'd genuinely love to know what you thought of it, even if you didn't enjoy it. Positive feedback is always nice to hear, but constructive criticism is just as valuable. I had a lot of fun making it, and I want to keep creating things that you'll enjoy, so your feedback really does help shape what I work on in the future.
