I’m sure you clocked that you were promised a Lordship Crisis last week and didn’t get one. That’d be because of the new Harry Potter trailer. Lets talk about it for a second.

If there’s one thing as a person who uses they/them pronouns (I’m they/she, in case you were curious) can’t abide by, it’s transphobia.

The hate, vitriol, and truly heinous backlash I’ve seen to the trans community in the comment section of any video discussing that series was so overwhelming and disgusting, it truly floored me.

Guys, I can’t make content for transphobes. I just can’t. I can’t make content that’s going to hit the fyp and they’ll get to enjoy. I’ve been mulling it over for days, and here’s my solution:

Lordship Crisis is now a Patreon exclusive series.

Moving forward, any time Lordship Crisis wins the vote? It’s here exclusively. It doesn’t leave Patreon. I just can’t allow myself to create content for the masses that does genuine harm anymore. It’s not right. I don’t care that my numbers are good, I don’t care that my algorithm loves it- bad people enjoy that content, the sort of people who don’t want me to have my rights.

Past that, I’m going to be donating a portion of my monthly Patreon proceeds to Mermaids UK, a UK non-profit specializing in supporting and aiding trans youth and their families.

New Lordship Crisis tonight, exclusively on Patreon. Love you guys.

Thanks for this in. Makes total sense.

Thank you for standing up for what is important, even with something that is entertainment for a lot of us. I fully support your decision and hope those kinds of people can leave their hate at the door 💚

Cyypherr

Makes perfect sense. Thank you for the update 💜

BPhoenix

As a nonbinary trans person - thank you 💖

Marie Rivera

Totally understandable. I support you and I think pretty much all of us will

abi

Non binary and completely agree with keeping lordship to Patreon as to not engage with transphobia and your choice to support a uk non profit that supports trans people and their families as Joanne (if she can’t respect other people’s chosen names I’m not using hers) uses her fortunes to support anti trans groups in the uk who are lobbying to remove our rights.

I completely understand why & agree with you. The one thing I will say is that you should post a pinned video to your normal account that basically says everything you said here so you don't have a million and one comments asking about it.

Thanks for the heads up!

Thank you Abby, as a trans fan it means a lot for you to take a stand like this. I've had a complicated relationship with my love for Harry Potter for a long time, but this week has been really disheartening with all the hate going around. So to see someone who I consider to be one of my favourite creators take a stand like this means so much

Just wondering if you’ve thought about transferring your previous lordship crisis videos from Tik Tok to here and removing them from Tik Tok? Or are you just going to continue the series here and leave the rest up on Tik Tok?

As a trans person in the UK thank you so much for donating to a UK specific charity! So often creators will donate to charities that primarily or exclusively operate in the USA and while those charities do amazing work, the harm that JK does is concentrated in the UK. (also I've gotta shout out Gendered Intelligence whenever I come across a discussion on this topic cause I genuinely don't think I would've survived my teen years without their youth groups and they arent as well-known as Mermaids is, if youre a trans youth in the UK they have amazing youth groups and yearly camping trips that I cannot recommend enough)

Tanya

Hey! She/they buddies! (Sorry that was random). That is a totally understandable and valid take. And honestly a big reason why I’m on Patreon now. Transphobes do not deserve your Harry Potter content.
