Irv, to sum it up, The tesseract was recovered in the Arctic ocean when it crashed with Captain America in 1945. Howard Stark found the tesseract in the ocean, than we see it in this movie (1995) and is kept by SHIELD until 2012, during the first Avengers. After Loki fails to invade New York, Thor takes it back to Asgard to lock it up until Loki steals it again in Thor Ragnarok. The tesseract now was crushed by Thanos and is on his glove as you saw in Infinity War. Captain America despite crashing with the tesseract in the ocean was miles apart from it and he wasn’t recovered until 2011.

Ooh Thor would be a good one
