I fought countless times on the surface. Somehow, I managed to stay alive through all those battles. I’ve met so many Commanders that I even lost count. All of them were the same, shouting orders at us and treating us as if we were just disposable guns. I thought that was supposed to be my life, until the day I would meet my end on the surface without ever knowing a truly good person.

That was until that operation, a operation led by the Counters. Somehow, he was different. At first, I thought it was just rumors: a Commander who was kind to all the Nikkes, who actually cared about us. During that operation, I was badly damaged, and he picked me up and carried me to the backlines. I truly thought I was going to die, but he saved me.

After that mission, he visited me to see how I was doing. I was shocked. How could he care about someone he had only met once? And that wasn’t all. I later learned that he had visited every Nikke in the repair center who had been damaged during that operation. Something inside me felt warm again, and I wanted to stay close to him.

I managed to join some joint operations led by the Counters. He was always so inspiring. All of us were motivated by him, and we fought bravely, achieving many victories over the years. Casualties during operations under his command were always low, and we felt much safer around him.

As the years passed, we finally managed to enjoy a brief time of peace inside the Ark. I contacted him and asked him to meet me downtown...

L — “Is he really coming?”C — “Hello, Lina! It’s been a while!”L — “Hi, Commander! You remember my name!”C — “Haha, how could I forget? You’re one of the best Nikkes of your rank in the Simulation Room.”L — “giggle I’m training very hard so that one day I can become an elite-class Nikke.”C — “Good to hear that. I’m sure you’ll reach that level soon enough. So… what do you need?”L — “So… uhm…”

I took his hand without saying a word. He blushed slightly as he looked at me, waiting for an answer. We kept walking for a while, and I couldn’t say a single word until he broke the silence again.

C — “Lina? Are you okay?”L — “Erm… Commander… I… uhm… can… eh… tonight… are you… free?”C — “Uhm… yes, I’m free tonight. Why do you ask?”L — “So… can you come to a place with me?”C — “Where?”

I squeezed his hand and looked into his face. He seemed a little confused, but I believe he understood. He simply nodded and leaned closer to hear where I wanted to go with him. I stuttered as I asked him to come to a hotel that night.

During all those years under his command, through countless missions, I finally felt alive — like I was someone, not something. He treated us as people, not disposable tools. And tonight, during this brief moment of peace, even if just once, I wanted to feel like a woman.Mega: https://mega.nz/file/O3oVjYSDKey: qd5JwVzAqmeiQ5QpdE0Zog-7zZIDf0aKWhhpiv4VTeg
