In regards to Lestat, it's important to keep in mind that this is all from Louis' memories and perspective, and he's not the most reliable narrator. Much more will be revealed as the stories unfold.

A great twist at the end, now the present story gets momentum :)

here for my Sunday nite absolution but dang, with those long poignant pauses making me dwell longer and harder on the darkness of this version of the narrative, as if they could make it bite any harder 🥵

Before I watch this episode, I just want to mention that I gave you a shout out on AZB+ so thought I would return the favor, especially since they live in Dallas. The opening of AZB Cold Little Heart on YouTube gives me the feels every time I watch it. Plus, it was filmed in Oklahoma. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edLsKYkemN4&t=146s

Anne Rice does such a good job (and it carries through in this adaptation) of making every character so complicated and (with all respect) pathetic and (with all empathy) disgusting, and all in such a human way, that the story becomes divisive in a way that reflects in individual readers (or viewers). There are people who will vehemently argue in support of Lestat, make excuses about Louis being unreliable and unfair; and there are those who will just as vehemently argue in support of Louis, pointing to the fact that his actions are objectively manipulative and reflect a deep selfishness and narcissism that obviously prevents him from even understanding what "love" means; and on and on. I really think that this show (and these books) form almost a psychological test: how people react to these characters can be so very telling about what those people are willing to forgive, what how they understand the actions of others, and what they think the word "love" means.

I think the girl made their relationship worse.... they would have sorted worked through their problems better if the girl wasn't around.... they love/loved each other so deeply and honestly.
