Yay! Heartstopper! This show was my hyperfixation for a while. It kinda grows up with the cast. Each season gets a bit heavier, while always focusing on queer joy.

As someone from the uk. It really doesn’t matter what school you go to. Public or private your phone is getting taken if you have it out. My school even had a rule that you couldn’t get it back on your own your parents had to come and get it at the end of the day 🥲

Just to let you know...Joe Locke's first professional job was Heartstopper. He got Teen/Billy after the first season of HS. He's from the Isle of Man in the UK. Also, after filming Agatha All Along, he got cast on Broadway in Sweeney Todd as Tobias, (I'll include the clip, which is beautiful). I believe that he and Kit Connor, who played young Elton John in Rocketman, btw, are going to be the stars to watch of their generation. About the camera work: good eye. This show is based on a graphic novel series. You'll see a lot of cinematographic elements that reflect this (and not just the animations). Until Heated Rivalry arrived, Heartstopper was my favorite show of all time. You're gonna love it.

@7:51. I’m happy to hear that’s your memory of being that age, that things were simpler. I’m from the camp of folks for whom high school and being that age was pretty hellacious, and nothing was simple. I watch high school depicted like this and I’m just so relieved that I survived it and never have to be so helpless again. Adolescence can be a terrible hallway sometimes - you feel like you’re an adult, you’re starting to be expected to act like one, but you’re also treated like a kid and often have the skills and tools of a kid … there’s so much dependency and lack of agency, lack of ability to have boundaries or protect yourself …

Oh I was so curious at the end … what you were feeling/ thinking … when you were like, “I liked it …”, it felt like there was something you weren’t saying. I hope we didn’t put too much pressure on you and hype it so much that you don’t feel as able to or comfortable speaking up if there’s stuff that you aren’t enjoying as much (or have critical feedback) …

Just to add.... The School is a Grammar school hence the separateboys and girls(Grammar schools are like semi private schools but free, you have to take different exams to get in. It's waaay better than normal secondary gov schools.. all my boys went there and on to sixth form(better than Normal college) then Uni.
