I want to make a comment. I watched the movie before reading the book. For me it gave me a better perspective of the story.

Such a good chapter. I like you reading this out loud. I hated the audio book narrator, so this is nice.

lovely to see you again for this one and Heathcliff launching through, those knowing looks of yours always get me 😽 definitely liking the book better than the movie so far and your narration is the icing on top 🍒 sometimes getting surrounded by the whole 🌈 alphabet can feel contrived but it is not pulling me out of it so that is making it extra bonus. Prolly better for my sleep sanity if I take your soft voice to dreamland instead of going back into reading more filthy HR soft Dom Ilya fanfic on AO3 so thanks for the pallet cleanse ☺️

nothing kills a vibe harder than an incongruent audio narrator but then opposite can also be true (Hail Mary is most excellent on audio) rarely want to risk it which leads me to go old school for most and there just isn't enough time in the day for all the good stuff I want to read. Can’t cope with the narrator of the 1st few in the Game Changer series at all but thankfully Cooper North does a good job with the others - think we need Dylan to read us Tough Guy tho, that would be a fun one

I have to say, i disagree with our Alex. Some people doubt their sexuality and wind up identifyimg as straight. It's okay to be uncertain. It's of course also okay to not be straight.

I also watched the movie first, then I read the book. Then I re-watched the movie, re-read the book, re-watched, re-read... I'm looking forward to hear about all the things people here think about.

I think Alex is so busy studying and doing all this campaign stuff and political appearances for his mother that he just doesn't have time to process what he feels. He also was in sports, was valedictorian. He never goes to parties, he has no friends. He has this pressure of having to succeed as a son of an immigrant. Sometimes it's not easy for bi-, pan- or demi-sexual people in this heteronormative world. Like Alex, we can always explain it away: the alcohol, the terrible British breakfast, jetlag, the stress, the fact that he sees Henry for the first time after knowing him better etc.

Joshua Rodman

Oh, it's pretty obvious he uses being busy as a general coping strategy. He just inner monologued that the doubt meant he's probably not straight. I disagree, but there are a lot of other indicators.
