This series is great, the 6th graphic novel of Heartstopper came out on the 2nd of this month and the film is out on 17th of this month on Netflix…. This series has dominated my brain since the start so I’m excited :) thank you for another great reaction 🫶🏻 btw love the shirt 🫶🏻

Like you I was also really happy they didn’t leave it at the level of season 2 but continued it into s3. I’m a psychologist and am in psychotherapy training right now (one more year until i can take my final exam and be licensed 🎉) and the way they give room for charlie’s mental health journey is so important. In the graphic novel, the beach conversation was between nick and his mum, but I’m really glad they gave him a psychiatrist for an aunt in the show, who could give more insight based on her expertise. These kinds of conversations are far too rare in mainstream media. And I’m really glad you also appreciate isaac so much. Charlie needed someone to come to him and make him realise he has people who care about him, and Isaac also needed to be reassured that Charlie wasn’t ignoring him on purpose and is just not doing well rn. And yes, they said “emma adaptation”, so a film based on the novel “emma”! Also Tori just sitting next to him to give him a hug 🥺❤️ Reminds me of the scene in season 1 when she said “you’re not ruining /my/ life”. Thank you to Alice for this beautiful story, and thank you for always being so kind and thoughtful in your reactions.

Charlie's mom is not "being a mom". Whenever something happens she doesn't expect, she lashes out, and she tries to control everyone around her. It's a *direct* cause of Charlie's battles. Of course, despite her dysfunctional behavior, she's trying her best. It's just her best isn't very good.

That hug from Tori gets me every time. Tori is trying so hard, and she's sacrificing some of her own happiness while doing it. I deeply appreciate how much love is shown there, but the wound that demands it hurts anyway.

Parents can be very oblivious to the circumstances of their children's lives. My own mom, despite me not having a girlfriend in my teens and all of my 20's, never once asked me about my love life until my early 30's when she asked if I was gay. I think that parents who have children that they do not center first in their lives can fall into that obliviousness.

Thank you for the mom comment cuz people really be on her ass like she's just such a terrible person. She was just trying to be a parent and setting boundaries charlie was obsessed with having a boyfriend and that's all he thought about and he lashed out at her when she was trying to set some rules. People forget that parents are people too they're not perfect and they're not gonna say the right thing all the time.
