I am so curious about how you are going to react to the movie. So many characters are just stripped out of the story. And I missed them in the movie. I am not going to say anymore until you do your reaction to it. I am not a critical of this book as you are. I have read it several times at this point. I am still so in love with Alex and Henry, it carries me through the rough patches.

I agree with you about the ending. I thought there should have been more Henry and Alex future than the drawn out political stuff.

I certainly wasn't invested in the political contest either. I think we simply weren't given stakes.

This isn’t a political story for sure, too high of a cheese factor. “Big damn heroes, sir” “Ain’t we just” (Firefly forever 🥰) and ain’t that just Texas in another universe, hope it comes back to that true white on blue lone star one day. Had to put this last Royal Blue storytime on hold a bit trying to draw it out but happy to hear there still one more Henry bit yet to share. Good to have this to contrast with the movie, fills it out better even if almost too fantastical for reality checks and looking forward to seeing your reaction there. Pretty sure reading the book first gives it a better chance at least. 👍
