Sharing honest music is doing God's work on earth, and caring for the musician's soul is part of honoring that gift. I loved this and enjoy all of these very much. Thank you 🙏💕

Went into the land of the midnight sun Trying to read a note somebody wrote about dignity

This letter addresses some questions I've had. In fact, a lot of the letters in this series provide insights that I really crave. I've always sought to understand perspectives which are unique to people who have lived in front of an audience, and have years of experience with the madding crowd. I don't know why it's so important to me, but I just can't get it off my mind. I have a deep desire to understand humanity. Some parts of it more than others.

During ma own story medicine time I often remind my students to “be sincere, even when it’s hard.” And sincerity in whatever form… It is literally the most important practice imho. Glad to see you feel that way as well🙏🏽🌊🤍💋

Elizabeth Bowie

A beautiful piece of writing. " Lonely roads, late nights, and the quiet burden of carrying one's heart before strangers." "A man sings of loss, regret, distance or hope, and somewhere a stranger feels less alone." Personally, I gained some insight about your own never ending tour. In this letter I believe you are revealing some of your feelings about the road. And I think those feelings are so true. You have brought comfort and hope to so many people. Thanks for posting this.

Sincere musical heart moves before strangers listening with open hearts and the song came in / a cool breeze by the light of the moon. The sound of open highways and cold stations at midnight. I know what you mean. With admiration and affection, nm.

Sometimes, I think I might be the most egotistical person on the planet...lol

Oh wow … this is my favorite of all. It has spoken to my heart … made me happy, made me sad, but in the end gave me hope and perspective. I believe that Mr. Price is talking to you, Sir. I can say for myself that your songs have truly become companions for me … made life easier in the times where I really needed something. I’m a Christian and have prayer and the scriptures. I’d be lost without them. Your music adds an additional warmth and comfort. I’m grateful to you. Along with my thanks, I’m praying always. Take care, and may God be with you 🕊️

".. but you and I both know it is more often built from lonely roads, late nights, and the quiet burden of carrying one’s heart before strangers .." Dear Bob in this letter are so generously reflected all the emotions which fill your Rough and Rowdy Ways shows, yours and ours. Your birthday is approaching and you couldn't have given us a greater gift

Barbara Hill-Mayo

At some places it seems Bob is included with Hank. A very endearing and comforting letter :)

Sheri

This letter could be to you , I always thought there was something more important to you . It’s not what you say , or what you do , it’s how you make people feel they will always remember you . Always you have touched people’s hearts and continue to share your journey with us . I forever am grateful, Wisdom, much love 💕

Gracie Lindsay

Bob, Incredible as usual. You’re always on the ball

Aren’t these unsent letters really written by Robert Zimmerman to Bob Dylan?

Roz Haddon

Everything here I would say about you and your songs. Lifelong companions without whom nothing in the fabric of the everyday would be the same This line will stay with me for a long time As for me, I have always admired artists who preserve gentleness in a world that rewards hardness. Thankyou ❤️

(( letters never sent, a response from hank snow to vincent price )) Dear Vincent, Your words sure do put a warm feeling all up in these cockles of mine. I only wish you’d sent a voice message, because: I’ve been everywhere, man, and I’ve *never* heard a voice quite like yours! The first time I heard it, it put a good scare in me. I raced off at about 90 miles an hour! You found the perfect fit for that custom built vocal machine. I wonder where you are tonight, and if you’re making your famous cheese soufflé? Remember that night I didn’t wait to chow down like you warned me to and I scorched the roof of my mouth?! I sang with a lisp for a week. Don’t worry, I don’t hurt any more. Thank you for the kind words, thank you for listening with the heart and not just the ears, and thank you for reminding me what an eloquent, warm gentleman you are. Loving attention from a friend like you helps me avoid the crusty creeping hardness that seems inevitable in this business, but isn’t really. Your kindness dissolves it like candy coating in the sun. Keep rolling on, Hank

Claudia

Dearest Bob, i'm super glad all these people come to life through you. Undergoing a karmic 180 right now. These stories will do me good. I'm glad to have you as my guide. Thanks for the words....and of course the glorious music, too!

Claudia

Lol 😆 🤣 try and slow me down. But what gets in my way are the squirrels and odd , shiny things that are pop up everywhere

Claudia

Yeah me too How crazy is this? I'm afraid to listen 2\n The downloads, I'd rather talk to the people around. I'm afraid, but I'm not and I'm tough and I live for myself. It's what I was always doing, but I had it wrong upside down somehow I got it all straightened out now.

Happy 85th Birthday to Papa Dylan! Best wishes and big love from Texas. 💫♥️💫

Happy birthday and thank you!

It is no small gift. You sing with an honesty that is startlingly rare, and you know that, and so many people feel it. It is profoundly inspiring and comforting. To me, honesty is the deepest form of spirituality; it is such a painful thing that more people don't recognise that. Happy Birthday 😊✨

Erika Ruymgaart

Letters Never Sent #1: Erika Ruymgaart to Bob Dylan. Dear Mr. Dylan, Happy 85th Birthday! I’m writing to you today with a mix of celebration and what I can only describe as a techno-dilemma. You’ve successfully trained us all to dutifully march into your venues and lock our phones away in those impenetrable Yondr pouches. We sit there, completely untethered from the digital world, just soaking in the music. It’s pure, it’s analog, it’s magic. There’s just one tiny, futuristic wrinkle in the plan: smart glasses. Yes, Bob, the times they are a-changin’, and now people are walking around with AI-powered spectacles that secretly record high-definition audio, shoot video, and snap photos with a simple tap of the frame (or even just a voice command). So, here is my humble proposition: Since the tech-savvy crowd can technically livestream the whole gig directly from their eyeballs anyway, can we please skip the Yondr pouches on this next run? If people can sneak a whole camera crew in on the bridge of their nose, letting the rest of us keep our phones in our pockets to check the time or text a babysitter feels like a fair trade. Either way, I’ll be there cheering you on this summer on tour—completely pouch-compliant, unless I manage to get my hands on some cool shades before then. Have a fantastic birthday! Yours truly, Erika

Happy birthday to you, Bob Dylan. Whatever you wish for, I wish for you too 💖

Thank you for sharing - listening to Hank Snow 😉🥰

These letters are magic tricks. To descend into two sensibilities, illumined only by one's own, is an escape of psychic boundaries that would amaze the likes of Houdini. Wish I could do that.
