26.03.09 Progress (New Sessions & Features) (Patreon)
Content
Hello everyone!
I’m happy to share this progress report with you all as development has reached a significant milestone. Unless something unexpected happens, I expect to release the new version within this week!
1. Four New Sessions Added!
We are introducing a total of four new sessions: a Rachel Special Session, a Haru Special Session, and two sessions for our newest character, Ruriko.
The script porting is already complete, and I am currently in the final stages of playtesting and polishing to ensure the best experience for you.
2. Script Customization & Translation Feature
Thanks to a brilliant suggestion from the comments, I have revamped the game’s internal mechanism. The game now reads scripts directly from .txt files within the Ren'Py engine. This means that by simply editing the text files, the in-game dialogue and commands will change accordingly.
Essentially, this allows you to directly edit or even translate the scripts yourselves! All the newly updated scenes have their corresponding .txt files located in the scenario folder for easy access. I plan to apply this same mechanism to all previous scenes in future updates.
Furthermore, I believe this feature can be expanded to allow for custom characters by letting users input their own text or images. While this is still in the conceptual phase, I hope to bring you more exciting news on this soon!
3. Dialogue Speed Control
I have added a feature to adjust the dialogue speed. Previously, changing the text speed caused synchronization issues with the countdown timer, so the speed was fixed.
I have now resolved this by locking the speed specifically for the countdown sequences while allowing flexibility for the rest of the dialogue. You can now adjust the speed using the button located next to the BGM playback controls.
4. Improved Illustration Workflow
Though it may seem like a minor change, I have significantly improved the process of generating illustrations. This has resulted in a major boost to both work speed and overall performance. I hope the improvements in visual quality and consistency are clearly visible in this new update.
Release Schedule:
The new version will first be released as Early Access for our paid subscribers.
It will be made available to free subscribers once the subsequent version is released.
I am committed to producing new versions every two to four weeks at most, so I kindly ask our free subscribers for their patience and understanding!
