After almost 40 years since their last animated feature for theaters, the Transformers have returned to the big screen and fully animated with their prequel, Transformers One. In this review, we’ll look into how the movie explores the origins of not just Cybertron, but also how Optimus Prime and Megatron were once best friends named Orion Pax and D-16. It’s an unusual twist for the franchise, but with Toy Story 4’s Josh Cooley directing, we’ll discover how he and his team transform this weird concept into a great movie that can even eclipse all those Michael Bay and live-action films.

I’m pleasantly surprised to find out that this turned out to be great despite having my doubts this would be so from the trailers making it seem like a generic animated kid’s flick but wearing the skin of a popular IP like most animated adaptations of shows or films ingrained in pop culture like the animated Addams Family films or even recently with Ultraman Rising. I do hope that this manages to turn a profit for Paramount considering their previous animated films not doing financially well at the box-office and the stress of finding a company to acquire them and I am glad to see their animation division at least release one good animated film after their previous films this year like The Tiger King and especially Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie not getting the best reception. Another thing I hope for from this film is that this finally silences those trolls who’ve harassed Josh Cooley just for directing Toy Story 4 AKA “That unnecessary sequel that ruined the Toy Story trilogy” as they view it because this film is an example of the capabilities the dude has to make solid animated films not connected to a mainstream animated film series and when he follows his own creative vision from the start rather than replacing the animated film’s original director and reworking the script as a result of the film lot going through production issues and delays like he did with Toy Story 4. I’m just glad that Josh Cooley could make an animated film on his own this time and be prove himself to be a competent animated film director

It’s awesome that you managed to get an early screening of this, I’ll say right now that like you I’m not a huge Transformers fan and at most I’ve only seen a few of the movies and also watched Transformers Prime, how I definitely wanna give this movie a watch at some point because I think it goes without saying this is quite possibly the best Transformers movie we’ve ever gotten, way better than the Michael Bay movies and heck I ‘d even say it’s even better than Bumblebee, which is definitely saying something because at least out of all the live action Transformers movies that is the best one without a doubt.

I checked out an early screening and it turned out greater than imagined! The trailers absolutely did not do justice to the movie itself. I’d say it’s definitely on par with Bumblebee as both definitely had heart put into them, whilst Bayformers 1 and Rise of the Beasts being dumb fun popcorn flicks and just about every other Bayformers entry being meh. I definitely have to check out 1986 movie still.

When it comes to the Transformers as a franchise, I’m not a major fan. I didn’t exactly grew up with it, but I respect for on its own over the years. I seen the 80s series one time as a kid, seen some episodes that was aired for Cartoon Network at the time, definitely seen the 80s film which was okay at best, and have seen all the live action films. Personally, Bumblebee was best Transformers for me thanks to Laika founder, Travis Knight handle this spinoff film very well as first Transformers movie by Michael Bay was okay along with Rise of the Beasts but the rest of the sequels sucked especially how it keeps progressively worst to the point of getting sick and tired of the franchise. I do appreciate with the changes to make it more faithful to the G1 series between Bumblebee and this movie as well. I was given a bad impression at first with the trailers as I thought it gonna be just a generic animated kids flick but after seeing it on early screening on Saturday, I was surprised to see how good it was. My main issues is how the story was predictable with especially how the first act started off rough with it exposition dump, fan service references, and a typical standard friendship as well but when the second act kicks in, that when the story and the whole movie itself gets better for me that resulted to be good from animation, okay humor, decent characters although Optimus Prime and Megatron are more stronger than the rest, action scenes, visuals, directing by Toy Story 4 director, Josh Cooley, and some of that heart as well. Again, not a big Transformers fan but I find it enjoyable as this movie is one of the better Transformers films I seen so far. I think it’ll do well at the box office and might get a sequel out of it because so far, this looked promising. One more thing, since this is also Michael Bay first time producing an animated film, kudos to him as well even if he not hands on all that much. I’ll give a 7/10 just to be generous.

Now this is something I finally wanted to hear, A Transformers movie that's actually Great! Bumblebee did have one too but for me, it only reached being just good. I never really cared about the franchise since I've seen the other movies, and even as much as the moments are actionpack. it ain't hiding that the plotline basically sucks. Even I felt the Star Wars Franchise had more of a plot than those movies. This one really feels like a breath of fresh air since I like Toy Story 4 as well and Cooely didn't disappoint. I gotta say Paramount really seems to be making a bit of a comeback with stuff like the Turtles and now with Transformers that I'm optimistic if their next project would be good!

I’m definitely seeing this when it comes out tomorrow! This will also be my first time seeing a computer animated movie that has a hyper realistic style in theaters
