This was definitely great look at the Muppets and how their popularity kept growing throughout the years. The Great Muppet Caper: a really fun and enjoyable Muppet film and definitely has very impressive scene with Miss.Piggy in the water. Muppets Take Manhattan: Another really solid Muppet film and and really great film directed by Frank Oz. Fraggle Rock: A really charming series and in my opinion one of Jim Hension's best non Muppet projects. Muppet Babies: Quite possibly one the most important thing to ever come out of the Muppets franchise, Muppet Babies really did help grow the Muppet franchise at the time and the series was just as successful as the original Muppet Show, especially when it got the reboot in 2018, also that little face about Marvel being involved with the series is quite shocking that the Marvel that is the major franchise we all know today was involved in Muppet Babies. This was definitely another great part of the lookback and I can’t wait for the next part where it appears we are going to enter the era when Disney fully purchased the Muppets and they became apart of Disney, so I think things are definitely going to get interesting.

This was definitely a nice return to Animation Lookback: The History of the Muppets and I enjoyed learning some of the behind the scenes stories on The Great Muppet Caper and Muppets Take Manhattan with the addition of The Muppet Babies. Nice of you to also briefly take about Jim Henson’s indirect involvement with Star Wars with having his friend Frank Oz puppet erring and voicing Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back.

Great video as usual, Mat. I do have a couple of fun tidbits for you. First, Marvel Productions was originally Depatie-Freleng Enterprises. Second, many of the babified shows created were actually demanded by the television networks, as they really wanted to replicate Muppet Babies' success. Also, you left the more obvious attempt to replicate Muppet Babies, Baby Looney Tunes.

I guess the Muppets during the 1980s were at it prime at the time back when Jim Henson was around in producing solid hits with both movies and TV series before his death occurred and so is the 1990s as well. The Great Muppet Caper: I seen it twice already and I say it a solid addition to the franchise and on par with the original because I do like the musical numbers and the meta comedy too so I say it great overall. Muppets Take Manhattan: I seen it few times already and this was second Muppet movie I saw back when I a kid back after Muppets From Space, I say it good but not great. I know this was tough start for Frank Oz to direct a feature film before becoming a solid director after several films along with his voice as Yoda for the Star Wars films as a additional boost, so I don’t blame him. For the movie itself, I do it lacks some of the charm here and there, but it is still a good film for what it is. I’m a bit disappointed that you didn’t going through details of how this film try to find right distribution so that a film can get released after ITC is no longer around this time, which is TriStar, before becoming Sony’s division, as this was one of the first films that ever came out of that studio back when they were fresh and new at the time and so has Labyrinth afterwards too. Just a one piece of criticisms I just wanted to add. Fraggle Rock: I can’t say much given that I have no connection to it despite watching a Christmas crossover special with them appear but yeah I can’t much about them. Muppet Babies: While I do think that dream sequence involves the Muppets as babies were pointless, but didn’t expect that it would later given an animated series. I’m surprised that Marvel was involved with this series as they were at the time producing some Hasbro animated series like Transformers along with Toei Animation who later produced the Dragon Ball franchise too. I don’t have connection to them either but I didn’t expect them to make this much seasons as well. If you guys like it, that fine but I don’t think this show is for me. Overall, I say it is mostly solid but I’m curious to see the next chapter when Disney enter the scenes in getting the hold of the Muppets along with Jim Henson’s death that affects the team in general too.

An X-rated film called “Flesh Gordon” made it into a Muppets cartoon show. One question: why?

Well, back in the 80s, you could get away with anything without raising the complaints of parents.

Just to say the 80s were a awesome time for movies, Everything was always a blockbuster hit like Indiana Jones and Star Wars, and the Muppets were no different. In Fact I want to say The Great Muppet Capper is actually my Favorite Muppet movie. I remember I used to watch it constantly everywhere, at home, sleepovers, camping, reunions, and even at school. It really come to realized that the "caper" genre were popular at the time like Roger Rabbit, Great Mouse Detective, Ducktales, Inspector gadget, Batman, even Murder she wrote all from the 80s.

I feel like I was the one to mention about the Star Wars fact in the first place. I remembered having a conversation about the lookback I didn't think he was going to full on talk about at one point other then a fun fact.
