I enjoyed this movie, personally I don’t think this the best work from Cartoon Saloon, it is still very solid animated film overall, the story has a lot of imagination to it and does have a great amount of emotional moments, the animation is absolutely stunning and really beautiful, and the characters, while not the best are still fun and are pretty fleshed out. Overall, I definitely don’t think this is Cartoon Saloon’s best animated film they’ve made, especially when the bar was already set pretty high especially after Wolfwalkers, but it is still a solid animated film and another solid film from the studio.

After watching this movie, I believe that this is maybe Cartoon Saloon’s weakest work so far. Although I like it more than what Mat would give, but I can agree this is no where in the levels of their previous works including Wolfwalkers. I do believe that the tone of trying to aim more towards kids is what hurting the film especially they’re known for making dark stories even The Breadwinner which Twomey also directed was also serious too. Even the characters were not that good too I mean I do like the main characters and villains but rest of the supporting cast don’t add much to plot for just world building or give main characters go from point A to point B as well. Those are my two main characters, but the rest are great with solid voice acting, beautiful animation, some good direction, nice visuals, a splendid score, and the heart was in the right place too. I know younger audiences will like this film more than older audiences, but it fine as long they get an enjoyment out of it. Guess that leaves Pinocchio from Netflix to take the crown to be best animated film of the year.

I would also say the message is that sometimes you may not have all the answers as much as you sometimes want to believe.
