I've been feeling like I'm on a roll this week! I've had a few rough patches, but after a few re-evalutations of my self care (like how to get better sleep), I feel like I was able to pick myself up and get better with my progress. After looking back, I think I found that boost I needed to push these projects forward and even be more advanced than I expected. Here's what I mean.

- Released my review of Coonskin: You could probably tell that I love this movie. Just like what Ralph Bakshi did with the feature where he did not hold back to say what he wanted to say, I did the exact same thing with no regards to how controversial I could be with my words, and I think it results in what may be among my best reviews so far. Technically yes, my reviews in general have become longer, but this one especially I really went in-depth because of the additional commentary on race and the problems of America, where they are as vital to the film as much as the story of the brothers. As I am writing this, it hasn't been released on YouTube yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if this may upset certain individuals for calling them out and their crackpot ideologies (I mean, I've done it before with AL: Ralph Bakshi. Might as well do an encore). Lately, I've been feeling proud of the work I've done, and this one is definitely one of them. As for next time, don't worry, I'll be out of the controversial zone and talk about a classic with The Land Before Time. This will be another good one, but this may reactivate some tears for some.

- Working on Animation Lookback: The Muppets Part 5: This was quite a surprise. My progress is is going quite well that I'm well ahead than I initially thought. Not only did I finish the script (at least the first draft before my fact checkers fully inspect it), but I also did the filming and recorded the narrations. My biggest shock was that this was the fastest and best I did with Puppet AniMat, where before, it would take me several days to get the green screen scenes right. This week, however, it only took me a few hours to do them all. This is because I decided to not simultaneously read my teleprompter and go with what I remembered that I wrote and was no longer afraid to cut inbetween takes to stitch them together in post. As you're reading this, I've started the process of editing and gathering all the clips need to get this part ready. We've already heard the story of Jim (thanks to Kevin), but now I'm preparing for what happens after.

So that was my week where I learned that treating yourself better will show in the work that you do. I will warn you now, however, that I may not have a whole lot of time next week to make Part 5, since I have some appointments to go to on each day. I'll be busy for various reasons, but I'll still do my best to keep this moving forward. So, until next time...

See ya later, dudes!

You should definitely feel proud of your Coonskin review. It was really well done and you definitely said what needed to be say concerning the systematic racism and bigotry in the film that’s still continuing today and how we need more heroes like Brother Rabbit to take down the corrupted heads with the position of authority and power they use to make situations for African Americans worse than providing the help they need. I’m also glad to hear you’ve been improving your puppeteering skills with Muppet AniMat. I feel like the more scenes toy shoot with the puppet, the more you get better and become a professional like the Henson Muppeteers.
