Muppet Mania came back this week! Not because I'm getting to work on Part 6 of AL: The Muppets (yet), but because Muppets Mayhem is now on Disney+. However, I do have more plans with The Muppets than just with AL. In fact, they will help me enter into some new territory that I should've entered a long time ago. However, there were still other things happening throughout the week, so here's what I did.
- Released my review of Ernest & Celestine: I'll admit that it was a while ago that I made this review. In fact, this was one of the last videos I made before heading off to my vacation at Walt Disney World. However, now that it's finally out, not only can I finally say that I saw this movie, but I also love it. I'd even say that this is one of the best animated films based on a children's book and one of the best examples of one. It's such a wholesome picture that's simplistic, yet emotionally effective to really have you connected with both the bear and the mouse. I'll even admit that there's a personal extra love from me with the fact that they are both outcasts on the matter that they are passionate about art. That is something I can relate. This is honestly why I love doing these Classic reviews. It allows me to discover gems like these and find out why they have a lot of love. But now with that covered, the next review will be lesser-known, but a very interesting sounding one called Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness. I have no idea what I will be going into with this one, but let's see if it's as adventurous as it promotes itself to be.
- Created on the next ACRs: Well...I actually do have an idea now of how it is, but I will be saving that for next month. I did complete that review over the weekend, but this week was mainly about working on the one after that. I won't say what it is or if it's good or bad, but what I can say is that this review turned out to be much bigger than I anticipated. While the film itself is pretty short, my review turned out to be almost half as long as the entire feature. There is one way to see it that it's an example of how I've grown as a critic to be more in-depth with my thoughts over the years, but there was also a part of me that felt shocked that the task I gave myself was quite big. In fact, since I skipped this week's episode of AniMat's Crazy Cartoon Cast, I spent the extra time working nonstop on this review. However, I still made the most out of it in order to be a real special one with several memorable moments. Even if I've already talked about this one before, this will be a fresh way of looking at it.
- Working on a Tier List: Here's something new that I'm trying out. Yes, I know Tier List videos have already been a thing for a few years, but I can often be late to the party at times. However, I don't think it's too late for me to try this out. Because they've been a thing for a while, what I'm doing has a bit fo a twist. I will not do the regular S - F tier thing because that's what most people do. What I'm doing instead will be more comedic and something that shouldn't be taken seriously. It's one of those "Let's have fun with a dumb idea" videos and it's the kind that either YouTube will either give it lots of attention or none. This job is always a gamble whenever you try something new, but it's always better to do it than to keep playing it safe.
- REMINDER FOR PATRONS $50+/MONTH: This month's Discord Chat will be happening on Thursday the 18th at 8pm EST. Let me know if you're not available for either so I'll organize a quick chat at a different time.
So that was my big working week of reviews and starting a new type of video. I may have to consider taking it easy on myself and focus on some small stuff before returning to work on the next big project, but then again, some could argue that time timing worked out in my favor. If I wanna relax a bit, I can watch some Muppets Mayhem to help me unwind. So, until next time...
See ya later, dudes!
