I came back from my break this week and I returned with a long-awaited 8th part. It did feel nice to have fresh start to the new year after releasing the Top 5 Best & Worst of 2023. And on top of that, I was able to do something that is surprising. Don't know if it'll be much of a big deal judging by the title, but how I got to do the video in the first place does have a cool story. It's like I'm off to more of a lead in terms of being advanced on my work. But with that said, here's what I got for you this week.
- Released Part 8 of Animation Lookback: The Muppets: After several weeks of going through the production of this part, it's great to finally bring back Animation Lookback: The Muppets so that we can complete the story by early 2024. I did have to do some last-minute corrections (which caused me to redo the whole post about it on Patreon), but this all turned out to be awesome. The most fascinating part is to really dive deep into the controversy of Steve Whitmire's firing. It does feel like there are some legitimate arguments for both sides. But honestly, considering how Disney has been behaving on their business sides, I feel like I'd be more on Steve's side on this one because the case of their anti-union stance and demand for creative control sounds very credible. But anyways, it was still fun to also get into the making of both Muppets Haunted Mansion and The Muppets Mayhem and quite surprised that there is a lot info regarding both that led to some great stories. And now, there's only one thing left to do...to create the final chapter.
- Created my review of The Tiger's Apprentice: Yep, even 2 weeks before the official release, I was able to make my review of The Tiger's Apprentice. How the fridge was I able to pull that off? Believe it all not, you have Paramount to thank. Before Christmas, they contacted me to give me an early screening of the Paramount+ movie. Of course, I didn't jump into it immediately, especially when it was at the time that I was preparing the holidays and finishing off the last videos of the year, but once I got all those out of the way and a few more for this month, I got access to it and was ready to get into the review. Originally, I was going to just work half of it and continue later, but that "later" arrived when they coincidentally released the full trailer. Perfect! Now I am able to just make the whole review. It took a bit more time because it was in the middle of when I had several other things to do, but I was able to get it all set for when it'll come out at the same time of its release. Guess I've just become a bit luckier with these early screenings.
- Starting the next AniMat's Classic Reviews: Now that I have that review done and will wait for the next when Orion and the Dark comes, I can start with the next ACR. I won't say what it is just yet (since this month's will be coming out next week), but considering this film's notoriety, I got the feeling that I got the opportunity to make my review more comical. While it's been years since the last time I saw it, but I am still quite familiar with it because of how the Internet is treating it. That's why I got this mixed feeling entering this one since it'll be a great chance to make an entertaining review, but scared because of what I'm about to experience. However, the fear of what could await me must end. Better to get it done now than to keep waiting so I'll be sure to deliver the justice it deserves.
And that's it for what I got to say this week. I'll make sure that my projects remain simple like these reviews so that it will give me time to refuel for the energy to make another big video. I will only say it will not be that long until that day comes. So, until next time...
See ya later, dudes!
