This turned out to be a surprising and exciting week for me. On top of the announcement of Epic Mickey Rebrushed, this was one of my busiest weeks yet as an actor, where not only I had to spend some time doing auditions both at home and in person at a studio, along with attending a workshop, but I was also hired for a gig that'll give a nice boost to my career (but of course, can't say what it is yet). The only catch is that it took away a lot of time from making progress on my videos. I obviously cannot talk about what I did with the acting because it's all confidential, but you'll see that this will be a shorter blog to tell you what progress I've made for this week.

- Released my review of Shark Tale: I've already experienced some subpar movies from DreamWorks last year with Ruby Gillman and Trolls Band Together (but I also did see them in better form recently with Orion and the Dark), but now it's time to see the studio at debatably their worst with Shark Tale. I remember casually seeing it many years ago, and even then, it did not leave a good impression on me. But now that I'm older and more experienced as a critic, this is more of a mess than I expected. Not only are the designs so bad to the point that they hinder the rest of the animation (which isn't strong to begin with), but this is a horrible example of the Liar trope with such a hatably selfish protagonist, a bunch of stereotypes, and cringey jokes that range from fish puns, to pop-culture references. I told you that this would be one of my longer reviews because there is so much to say about where this movie went wrong and this could fairly be considered to be DreamWorks at their worst. The good news, however, is that I finally finished the review and now I can move on to something else. But I know this could be controversial, because my next review is one of the most popular anime movies in history, Your Name. I'm not gonna be too harsh on this, but I will be asking the question not many want to hear, is it overrated?

- Edited the next Special Review: As acting took a higher priority this week and had me driving all around the city (as I've mentioned at the start), there wasn't a lot that I was able to do in terms of making videos. The most that I was able to do was complete the special review that I started last week. I got to do all the filming and recording needed last weekend, and this week was putting all this together, which turned out to be something that is a good reason to be called a "Special" review because the movie that I talk about here certainly is a wild one. In fact, despite being a few decades old, the subject that it discusses feels still relevant today with all the insanity that we've been hearing in entertainment today. At the same time, I also got to work on making more TikTok/Shorts videos to catch up on those and have them ready for the future. I even did a spontaneous short where I did a little bit related to the Epic Mickey Rebrushed announcement. It's not a lot of progress, but it's the most and the best I could do with the limited time I had.

And that's honestly all that I could say about how my week has been. It was unexpected, but certainly great that I'm getting more opportunities as an actor. However, I'm letting you know right now that there won't be a new video next week. I'm taking the time to conserve some energy and make some progress on what's to come and I'll be uploading an hour-long compilation of my Animation Facts shorts. Will I have more time for videos or will my acting career gain more momentum next week. I guess we'll have to wait and see. So, until next time...

See ya later, dudes!

Great you hear you got a big break! It’s okay if you don’t put out a new video next week. We think you’ve put out a lot of new videos this month to keep us satisfied and I feel like something like your acting career should take priority first because you never know if this could be the start of an opportunity for more voice work. It’s great to hear you’re fulfilling your voice acting career and it’s giving you more to outside of your work under your AniMat persona. Who knows? Maybe someday you’ll find a girlfriend.

Adam Sandler’s Leo has the same white lie plot like Shark Tale. Leo’s reasons for his lies were justifiable more than Oscar’s reasons ever will!

Hope you are doing well Mat, and I hope things went well with your acting career this week. But if you need a break, I understand.
