[Novel Excerpt]Chapter I: The Chamber of Rainbows

I’ve struck poses in candlelit dungeons, shadowed alleyways, and moody gothic lounges, but today I wanted something entirely different: a lighthearted, playful soap bubble pin-up photoshoot.

Stepping into the studio, barefoot against the cool, polished marble floor, I adjusted my sleek black one-piece. The room smelled cleanly of lavender and glycerin. When the specially formulated bubble mixture swept over me, enclosing me in a single, massive sphere, I caught my breath.

I reached up, carefully flattening my palms against the inner curve. The surface was surprisingly resilient—a gossamer barrier flexing under my fingertips. Through the translucent wall, light broke into brilliant streams of magenta, gold, and violet. My fangs peeked out past my lips as my eyes widened in pure, unscripted wonder.

Chapter II: Mesmerized

The photographer called out a reminder to check the lighting, but I was entirely distracted. I dropped down into a crouch, leaning close to the sphere’s lower wall.

The swirling ribbons of iridescence danced inches from my face. Every slight movement of air outside shifted the colors in liquid patterns across the curved film. It was hypnotic. Encased in this floating pocket of spectrum light, I felt suspended in a private, shimmering universe.

"Bardiche, give us a smile!" the voice chimed from behind the lens.

I looked up, hands still pressed against the slick interior, a helpless grin breaking across my face. Capturing a pin-up look was easy enough, but keeping a straight face while surrounded by glowing rainbow waves was proving nearly impossible.

Chapter III: Taking the Wheel

"Let's see if we can get some dynamic motion," I called out, my voice echoing faintly inside the acoustic shell of the bubble.

I stood up and turned away from the main lights, facing the long stretch of dark marble flooring. Testing the bubble's durability, I pressed both hands firmly against the front wall and leaned my body weight into it. The membrane stretched, curving around my palms without giving out, transferring the force straight down to the floor.

My feet shifted, finding grip on the curved bottom basin of the sphere. Slowly, deliberately, the entire orb began to rotate beneath me.

Chapter IV: Rolling Along

Once I found my rhythm, it was effortless.

I pushed with my shoulders and arms, walking forward as the giant bubble rolled across the marble like a giant, shimmering hamster wheel. The dynamic light hit the trailing edges of the bubble, creating a halo of liquid color behind me as I moved.

Glancing back toward the camera over my shoulder, I threw a fierce, playful look into the lens—fangs flashing, red eyes catching the ring lights, black hair swaying with the motion. What started as a simple concept shoot had morphed into an absolute blast. Who knew trapping yourself in a giant soap bubble could feel this empowering?
