Starting off the new year with the new Rachel doing new Loco-Cola ads. These appear in backgrounds in the game, so consider the non-blurry and well lit versions Patreon exclusives.

Here's where the top picture is in the game, as Ariane eats an amusement park burrito. Yes, this originally was a hot dog, but I don't have a good 3D model of a hot dog. So I substituted a burrito.

Here's poster number 2. This is supposed to be the "diet" version, so Rachel is wearing what might be workout clothes.

This version is an ad at a bus stop as Ariane anticipates trying to cross the freeway bridge missing some clothes.

While making those two posters, I made some goofy ones too. Remember those pinup pictures of models in an oversized martini glass? Well here's Rachel in an oversized glass of cola.

Sexy, but a little gross, which is why it was rejected. More down below.

Date Ariane 2 Beta project

Spending the year on the graphics, I'm working on improving dialog, sound effects, and music. I've been changing and adding music.

A new opening theme is a jazz piece that is romantic and playful at the same time. I have new background music for each dinner scene now, too.

I'm working on a system where Ariane randomly praises you when you do something good. Sort of a positive feedback system. I'm going through the game looking for moments to trigger a compliment from Ariane. And to prevent myself from doing too many, each trigger has a 1 in 3 chance of working, and what she says changes each play through.

Next step is to start working on new paths to reach content, and make sure everything is reachable like before.

I also want to build a new demo this month.

It sounds like you're planning to call a random function to pick a number between 1 and 3 and fire the compliment on a 3. I suggest instead having an array of bools that's as long as the number of compliment locations with 1/3 of them set to True and the rest False. Then, at the start of the game, shuffle the array. Random seems like a good idea, but it rarely does what you want. A large number of players will get no compliments, and a large number will get all of the complements. Shuffling guarantees that everyone gets complimented on 1/3 of the locations, but which locations changes randomly from playthrough to playthrough.

Good idea. Right now I have it set to always compliment for testing purposes until I can find locations I need them for.
