Pics 258: The Hard Part of Strip Crazy Eights 2.0 is done (Patreon)
Content
This week was time to render the game play of Strip Crazy Eights 2.0. I know this looks too much like pics from the last few weeks, but it's all I have been doing this week.
This part involves making 42 pictures of the trio doing the exact same thing with the camera locked down in the exact same position.
Why? Because the next step involves splitting each of these into 3 separate images. The 650 pixels on the left are Ariane playing, the 650 on the right are of Relay, and the 620 in the middle show what Rachel's doing.
The 126 total images must fit together or there will be gaps, or noticeable lines. I've had to do many re-renders because the camera position or lighting changed slightly.
You may notice that the previous pictures were with a round table showing Relay's and Ariane's legs. That would double the images needed as the game would need to keep track of who's wearing pants.
My goal was to keep it the same size as the first version, so I had to block the legs with a square table. This image of the three of them throwing out a card had to be redone to keep Ariane's card and Relay's right hand from crossing into Rachel's picture area.
Of course I couldn't block if they were playing without a shirt or not so half the pictures are of them playing topless.
I had some ideas of making the game more sophisticated, but I'm saving them for a possible sequel. This is a short adware free promo game I wanted to get out.
There is stuff to do besides the game play images. There must be images of them taking off clothes, and images of the "losers" posing together. And of course there is the player character, though all I did was use the players from Date Ariane Remastered 2.0.
I also have to remake backgrounds, as the above are using backgrounds from the old version. I want one background from the three games these characters came from.
But that's next week's project. My goal of releasing to Patreon by the end of the month is on track.
