In early July, I'll be releasing a 1.20 version of Ariane in Paradise to the general public, but thought I would let you Patrons get a week head start. If you already have version 1.10 or higher, download and install this patch.

The main thing it adds is "help paths" that work like the ones in Date Ariane Remastered, where it will highlight the correct choice in magenta depending on which paths are enabled.  It is basically a way to embed the help wiki into the game itself if you think you need it.

It also fixes the Spanish language translation, but not French, German, or Portuguese as those machine translations were of poor quality to begin with and there is not a lot of interest in supporting them.

On PC or Linux, extract the file to the directory where the arianeinparadise.exe is located, say yes to replace files.

On Mac you control-click (right-click) the Ariane in Paradise app,  Show  Package Contents, go to Contents/Resources/autorun/ and drag the  patch game folder, and if a window pops up, choose “Combine”.

When I try to run the game with the patch, it immediately crashes. OK FIXED! A couple of recent Spanish translation files got put into the wrong directory, fixed the patch, so redownload and repatch, should work.

Hi Ariane! For me, it also crashes immediately on start-up, but with a slightly different error code. This is on a Mac, and I tried it twice. Both with the patch from here as well as with the one from itch.io. ``` I'm sorry, but errors were detected in your script. Please correct the errors listed below, and try again. Thanks. Let me find out what is going on, that message is not a mac specific error.

OK uploaded a 1.21 patch that works around the xsize issue. Not sure what caused this, the clue is in Ren'Py 7.3.5.606, since the game is now in Ren'Py 7.5.0 feature change perhaps? Try the 1.21 patch, iif it works tell me and I'll put it everywhere, if not, you might have to download a fresh copy of the game so that it runs on 7.5

dateariane

While the 1.21 patch seems to be working (haven't heard complaints) I got confirmation that the cause of the issue is that the version of the game you are updating with the patch is too old to recognize the "xsize" command. I'd recommend downloading a fresh copy of the game from itch.io and install that. It should keep your old saves, though some of the saves might be broken, too.

Hi Ariane, thanks for looking into this so quickly. The 1.21 patch definitely solved the issue. I never bought the game from itch.io, but got it when you made it available to all your patrons for a while, so I can't download a fresh copy at the moment. But right now, the new patch solved the issue, and in future, I could always buy it on itch.
