Regarding future development, and making the game free (Patreon)
Content
Nice to meet you. This is MJ speaking for the first time.
First things first, I'd like to talk about the upcoming update.
It would be difficult to release an update this month as well. As a result, we've decided that from now on we'll release the game at irregular intervals rather than monthly.
To make up for it, we'll be releasing the updates for free until the game is close to completion.
As you may have heard from Aoigai, I don’t have a lot of time to work on the game anymore. To be more specific, as of 2020, I unfortunately only have 2 days a week (the weekend) where I'm free to work on this project.
To make up for my absence, Aoigai has been working extremely hard these past few months to keep up the regular updates mostly by himself, but this ended up taking a very heavy toll on his mental health. He has recently been trying to get professional help and is trying out all sorts of medicine to help his condition.
I feel fully responsible for not taking action earlier, and I offer my sincerest apology to both my friend Aoigai and to our audience on Patreon. I’m really sorry.
After talking things over, we’ve decided upon the following changes to the project:
1. The development of the game will slow down until Aoigai can recover, which will hopefully happen soon.
2. We’ll rethink the tiers on Patreon and begin releasing the game for free.
3. Replying to every comment individually may be difficult for the time being, since that was Aoigai’s job until now. [Alice Magic, the translator, here; I'll try to respond to some comments myself for the time being to at least keep you guys updated.]
4. The next update, which was planned for the end of this month, will likely be delayed by a week or two. It’ll continue on from the bath scene; we’re putting the city route on hold for a whlie.
I’m sorry that my first post to you guys is this glum and feeble. I’m aware that it’s not very responsible to plead to our patrons for sympathy, but we promise we’re going to keep working on the game, bit by bit, and we pray from the bottom of our hearts that you’ll stick by us even during these hard times.
Thank you.
