Hey cyberjacks, streetrats and techheads,as I'm sitting in my bestest sweatpants in front of my PC it is time to go for the inevitable 2023 review. Don't worry folks, this will be a short one.First of all I would like to thank every loyal supporter for his/her contribution to my work. Without you this project probably would've gotten thrown in the bin some time ago. The newer ones that just started to support me, thanks for joining. And thanks for keeping me going. 2023 wasn't easy and oftentimes a slog to be honest. It felt like I haven't reached what I was planning coming from 2022. As you know, almost all of the first half went down working on the collab with RanliLabz, which was a ton of fun. It gave me an opportunity to play with my character in another setting. It grew bigger than expected. Some people liked it, some hated it and some didn't care. But a collab between devs is good. Not just for expanding the reach for the own visual novel but also to work under different conditions.I don't regret doing so although I declined another request and worked on Cyberlinxxx again.A little timejump later, I got a new monitor. Man, it's embarrassing to admit that I had a 1080p Monitor for over 10 years. The new 4k screen is soooo much better. And that's when I recognized the visual state of the images I was rendering ... and oh man, I wasn't happy with it.

Thus began the remastering of hundreds of images. Months went by filled with a lot of hassle with older files and missing assets. That was no fun at all. The results however are worth it. Along the remastering I got better at lighting my scenes and improved other artistic skills, mainly in post processing which visibly kicked the quality of the renders up two or three levels.I can tell you, it feels damn good seeing your results improving by working on yourself:)(And I was able to get even better. You supporters saw how good the Happy New Year image looks, right?) Yeah, there's a bit of pride glowing in me for figuring that out.

While the remastering will still go on in 2024, the next thing that happened was the moving of some family members and I talked about that in my dev logs. It was another not-so-fun activity going on for weeks and left me totaly kaput at the end of the day. Obviously didn't got much work done neither preparing for christmas and new year ... which I choose to not celebrate this time.Needed some time to recharge my batteries. Luckily one other skill that got better is my cooking. Yeah, this dude cooks!One thing I got out of it, besides better meals, is the importance of a good frying pan. Everything tastes so much better with a good frying pan, it's amazing. Love my new pan. Maybe I get an airfryer too this year. Heard good things about them.

Looking forward to finally release my VN on STEAM. Talked about that for a long time now and now i just have to create some STEAM achievements before resubmitting Cyberlinxxx for review. Fingers crossed.

Alright, this 2023 reflection has taken up enough time. I'm looking forward to 2024 to get more things done, learn more, improve further ... and a promising tomato harvest on my balcony in the summertime.Thanks for staying with me. That's all from me today.Have fun.
