HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE! Welcome to our first official GeK-Pop poll!

As you guys know, this channel will be largely dictated by these polls that we will hold at least once a week. Whatever is winning by the next day is what we will do!

We are starting from ground zero, so these are the some of the recommendations we have seen from you guys. This doesn't have to be the only poll we post this week but we gotta start somewhere!

The Netflix concert would be amazing, bc it would be a natural progression, as you guys already listened to the album. And like I mentionned in another comment, it would be great to explore groups one by one to give you more time and develop a genuine interest. Just like you did with anime on Studio Gek, just imagine if you started immediatly with AOT, One Piece and JJK at the same time. But you focused on AOT at first, and I think that it’s the same thing. Focus on BTS at first, then maybe blackpink and then other groups.

I was literally going to make this comparison when I commented today lol. Obviously everyone has their own groups they want the Geks to react to, but I’ve never seen reactors not focus on one group when they’re first starting out. Like with AOT when they started the channel, it’s just better to put your focus on one thing at first and start doing multiple things later on.

I agree with the people saying it’s better to do one group at a time, especially at the start. It gives you more direction on what to react to next, because otherwise k-pop fans will literally recommend you anything and everything. There are just way too many songs, and people will throw in both the biggest hits and the most random personal favorites. I also think the music hits harder once you actually know the group, since k-pop is so group-focused and a lot of the enjoyment comes from understanding the members, their style, and their whole vibe. That’s why I’d personally say focus on BTS first, then branch out later depending on how long you want to stay on them. Doing Blackpink or Stray Kids here and there is fine too since you’ve already heard some from them, but I’d save really diving into other groups for later. Of course you should do whatever feels right for the channel, I’m just saying this because YouTube k-pop fans can get very critical about this stuff, and I’d rather you not have to deal with that.

I think the concert makes the most sense right now! It’s their first one since their military hiatus, and seeing the songs you guys liked performed live really shows how much choreo and performance add to the experience. That’s also why fans usually suggest watching dance practices alongside lyrics or MVs. Performance is a huge part of k-pop and if you guys enjoy and appreciate that, you’ll get way more out of it.

Please do other groups too, because it won't be like anime, after a few seasons series end but Kpop content is never ending, new things keep coming. And you guys want to explore the Kpop world and not just the BTS world because there is so much more to Kpop than just BTS and BlackPInk(no disrespect to them). Please do other groups MV's and other content too on the side, please do Super by Seventeen, it's an amazing song. And you guys are such big fans of anime now and have been big fans of Dragon BallZ that you will get the references in the song and their performances. Please consider Stray Kids and Seventeen and Ateez Dingo Killing Voice which showcases their diverse Discography and amazing live vocal ranges. Sooo much more to Kpop like From legends like GD and T.O.P and girls groups like MAMAMOO who are not talked about enough to groups like Seventeen who are a fully self produced group from song writing to composing to choreography, and soloists like IU who has given us some of the best solos in Kpop right now and Stray Kids who even being 4th Gen are giving the 3rd Gen groups the run for their money.

Yeah I think the Netflix concert is probably the best thing to watch next since its their comeback then maybe watch the guide to get a bit more info about all seven of them. In the future if you end up watching more BTS music videos and song, please react to the lyrics too because a lot of there songs have very deep meanings. Very excited for the upcoming content on this channel tho!!

Just wanna echo what everyone's been saying already, it's probably best to focus on one group at a time - otherwise you guys might be spread too thin. Not saying you shouldn’t do other groups either for variety but I think a lot of us would appreciate a deep dive

Although you should maybe focus on one group at a time, you can check out other things in the k-pop industry every once in a while just to switch things up and keep it fun! I actually think a really cool video idea would be reacting to music from actors you’ve seen in the k-dramas you’ve watched! For example: Squid Game - Junhee (222) — Jo Yuri (IZ*ONE) - MG Coin (333) — Yim Si-wan (ZE:A) - Thanos (230) — T.O.P (BIGBANG) - Yong-sik (007) — YDG (rapper) Weak Hero - Si-eun — Park Ji-hoon (Wanna One) - Seong-je — Lee Jun-young (U-KISS/UNB) Bloodhounds - Woojin — Lee Sang-yi (MSG Wannabe) When Life Gives You Tangerines - Ae-sun — IU (soloist) - Gwan-sik — Park Bo-gum (singer/actor) - Young-beom — Lee Jun-young (again) It’d be fun seeing you guys react to them as idols too while also tying into your TV reaction content. Having a video here and there like once a week that’s a bit different from BTS could keep things fresh, satisfy other fans, and give you guys a break from doing the same thing every time. Just a idea!

I get where you’re coming from. However jumping between a bunch of groups at once usually just leads to a flood of random suggestions, which makes it harder to decide what to do next and spreads everything too thin. I think it makes more sense to get into k-pop the way most people do; start with one group, get familiar, then branch out from there. That being said, I do agree that some reactors stay on BTS too long and get hesitant to try anything else. Ideally the Geks focus on BTS for a bit to build that foundation, then start exploring other groups after.

Knowing the Geks, I don’t think they’ll stick to BTS quite that long lol. They’re pretty genuine, so if they start wanting to branch out or aren’t feeling something, they’ll be honest about it. I think suggesting like one video a week that’s separate from BTS could keep a good balance and satisfy both sides :)

I think maybe establishing what groups you will focus on before diving headfirst will be the smart move. Like, since you've done your first 3 original reactions to BTS, Blackpink and Stray Kids, if you vibed with them then focus on those three while establishing this patreon and channel before venturing out. K-Pop is pretty vast with all sorts of different groups and I'm sure you will receive a ton of different requests. Of course, your own taste will influence what you check out further down the line, and I'm sure our recommendations will be fine tuned towards what you all gravitate towards in the future. Take your time, this industry is fast moving, and new releases happen all the time, and one after another. Most of all, I hope we all just have fun and enjoy.

The real questions are how deep do yall wanna go into each group and whats the schedule looking like. I always say focusing on one group is the best way to get an authentic experience. However, it wouldn't be fair to other patrons who want to see yall react to their favorite groups. That's why the schedule is important because doing one group could take too long. Maybe do two groups (boy/girl) simultaneously? Cuz let's be real ARMY will always dominate the polls lmao I'm ARMY but I do like variety and my girl Betsy needs her Stray Kids. So it all comes down to how yall want to experience it and what the schedule will be.

Personally I'm here for BTS, and I love that you guys are genuinly giving them a chance. People asking you to film a guide and then concert reaction in one video are asking you to commit to over 2 hours of content. If you guys do want to do this though, I would watch a shorter and narrated guide like the Boracity one or something. The Taylor one is amazing, but it’s like 40-50 mins and it’s a lot of reading so you will have to keep pausing and possibly rewinding it. Up to you guys, just a fair warning lol.

I have been a k-pop fan for 7+ years and there is no better introduction to it than BTS. I suggest that you react to the Netflix concert first to get a taste of their killer performance skills that they are known for. You also already know all of the songs on it aside from microcosmos. Then I suggest the guide next which is a must.

If you guys do a guide definitely do the Taylor guide. The boracity guide barely touches on the members. A few of the members you just get tiny glimpse of. They Taylor guide is much more in depth for who the members are and what they can do individually

I’d suggest trying out at least one girl group and one boy group instead of sticking to just one, since their content can honestly go on forever. Also, it might be easier to do the MV, dance practice, and live performance for one song all in one video, it saves time and still gives a full experience. This way, you can explore more groups in shorter time without getting stuck on just one.

The Taylor BTS Guide goes by super quick (it’s like 40’) and the concert is 1hrs, I would recommend doing the guide first, cuz then you can really appreciate how much they’ve grown (the guide is the perfect summary until 2022 I think) 💜🫶🏽

i suggest you start with the boracity guide. from your reactions, people will be able to recommend songs that would suit your taste. bts discography is very diverse, and we'd like to recommend songs based on your initial preference before introducing all the other genre. the boracity guide is very good for those that are just starting out with bts. It's more recent as well where some solo songs are also mentioned. same comment as the others, taylor mari's guide has more details, but for starters, do the boracity one first. Then do the concert. it's more enjoyable to watch the concert when you know who's singing/rapping and dancing. I bet when you watch the concert, you will continously ask who's who. that would be frustrating. When you're done with the concert, you might want to go with taylor mari's guide. Then we can start with the song and other content recommendations 😁 I'm here for bts only but nothing stopping you from going with other groups. With bts alone though, content is endless.
