Alisse Rhodes

lopi-ko

Soo, the scooter one is another accident, he fell from an electric scooter while turning. The accident which is mentioned in the song happened before his debut, while he was doing his part time job. He had a bad shoulder injury and had to perform with pain for years. He did get the surgery after all, that is also the reason why he ended up doing military service a bit differently from other members (the usual one wasn't possible because of his health basically) And just in case, he didn't use drugs, the pills are pain killers, also because of the accident

bella⁷

people always underestimate yoongi (suga) it’s always so funny to see people realize how much of a beast he is. his flow is crazy and precise

Bri 🦔

yall should check out IU on his show “suchwita” after yall get into iu they worked on 2 projects together love their friendship 😭🙏

mina

HOLYY

Aya

The Korean government and media can piss the hell off, they’re absolutely disgusting for what they did to yoongi that’s why I’ll always support him for not even giving them the slightest bit of attention anymore

HaNo0onat

Yoongi doesn’t shy away from talking about dark stuff

Galiaa

Omg the electric scooter incident was fucked up guys don’t remind me please 😭😭😭

Nanami's Wife

I also vote for Jimin's solos next! My bias breaker needs his flowers😏

Emrataaa

I really love yoongi his musics and the meanings 🫶

Galiaa

React to Namjoon Lost , wild flower & Joke Nextt

Jo

Jk and Jin were actually in the background of the "Daechwita" MV!! 😅

Emrataaa

4 in 1 is that perfect 🫶

HaNo0onat

Tae/v likes to always sing Yoongi rap part even now in tour when they do the 2 surprise songs

Ana

Another video today? OT7 one? I’m hoping for a second video these are so short 😭😭😭

aurora 𝜗ৎ

Jimin next pls 🥺 Like Crazy, Who, Set me free pt2 💜💜

bella⁷

but yoongi really is just the sweetest ever lol i saw him perfom on his d-day tour and it was soooooooo much fun!!!

Nanami's Wife

Love that you guys are doing the individual solos. But after all the solos, I really hope you guys do album reactions. Maybe that could be an exclusive option, idk but in kpop albums there are not a lot of songs. So, it won’t be as long as ARIRANG. And the albums also features solos too (my favorites are "Euphoria" - JK, "Awake" - Jin, "Serendipity" - Jimin, "Stigma" - V, “Trivia: Seesaw” - Suga, "Trivia: Just Dance" - JHope, "Intro: Persona" - RM) 1st Album “2 Cool 4 Skool” - 3 songs (the other 4 are just talking audios) 2nd Album “O!RUL8,2?” - 10 songs 3rd Album “Skool Luv Affair” - 9 songs (1 talking audio) (special addition: Miss Right song) 4th Album “Dark & Wild” - 14 songs 1st Japanese Album “Wake Up” - 6 songs 5th Album “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 1” - 9 songs 6th Album “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 2” - 9 songs 7th Album “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever” - 6 songs 2nd Japanese Album “Youth” - 3 songs 8th Album “Wings” - 15 songs 9th Album “You Never Walk Alone” - 4 songs 10th Album “Love Yourself: Her” - 9 songs 3rd Japanese Album “FACE YOURSELF” - 5 songs 11th Album “Love Yourself: Tear” - 11 songs 12th Album “Love Yourself: Answer” - 11 songs 13th Album “MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA” - 7 songs 14th Album “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7” - 14 songs 4th Japanese Album “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ THE JOURNEY ~” - 5 songs 15th Album “BE” - 8 songs 16th Album “Proof” - 3 songs

Emrataaa

The fact that he genuinely produces his own music. He writes, composes, and produces for his solo projects, for BTS, and for other artists. He was making music before becoming an idol and is considered one of the group’s main creative forces. That make him untouchable 🤍

tangerine⁷

Can we have a group reaction for this week😭bts festa 2021 please!!!

Luka-shiki

Suga had a bike accident really early in his career just like the one depicted in the MV. His mom had heart surgery and his dad also got liver cancer so the song is basically showing him revisiting the traumatic memories. Also, the pills he was taking were painkillers I think for his shoulder injury!

Emrataaa

For Taehyung 4 in 1 : love me again, friends, winter ahead, slow dancing or rainy days plz 🫶

VictoriaKyuu

This was a great reaction as always lmao It’s amazing that you guys not only got to know his solo music but a little bit about him in general! Hope you continue to get the other members music! Personally I can’t wait for JIMIN!!

t

Can’t wait for the rest of the solos!!

Isha⁷ 🦋✨

RM - WILD FLOWER, LOST, COME BACK TO ME, GROIN JIN - RUNNING WILD, DONT SAY YOU LOVE ME, ILL BE THERE, THE ASTRONAUT JHOPE - KILLING IT GIRL, MONA LISA, SWEET DREAMS, OUTRO EGO JIMIN - WHO, SET ME FREE, LIKE CRAZY, SERENDIPITY V - RAINY DAYS, LOVE ME AGAIN, SLOW DANCING, FRI(ENDS)

sums ☆

yoongi was hit by a car whilst working as a delivery driver and injured his shoulder, he was worried about being kicked out of the company since they hadn't debuted yet so he concealed the reality of how bad it was from everyone - even telling the members he had just 'fallen down the stairs'. for years he struggled with it particularly due to the rigorous choreographies and eventually he even had to have surgery. it's also the reason his military service was different to the other members.

HaNo0onat

He stayed struggling with his shoulder injury until I think 2020 he had to do surgery because the pain gets worse (in one of their online concerts at the end of it he couldn’t even move his arm )

Bubble Gum

Omg yes please 🙏 more & react to IU too she amazing.

Lauren

I listen to all of their discographies but Agust D’s discography is a fking rollercoaster of emotion and I listen to it whenever I need something cathartic

sums ☆

i personally love rm's recent album right place wrong person, it's my favourite solo work of the group and i genuinely believe it to be an experimental masterpiece! 'domodachi' is my fave track but the whole thing is incredible. think tyler the creator vibes with uk rap influence

HaNo0onat

Iu has song with Yoongi and mv with tae acting in it !

t

Also can’t wait for the rap line song reactions

VeroARG

You need to listen to so much more !! Best of me! So what, Heartbeat , Let Go, and maaaany more Jungkook Stay alive produced by Suga is a must as well

Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala are a trilogy. The first two are Yoongi killing off something bad about himself. In the first, the mad king is obsessed with power / prestige. In Haegeum, the police office is greedy and obsessed with money. Then in Amygdala, you see that all of these battles are happening inside of his mind, and the jagged scar on his eye is one he gave to himself. The fact that it's slowly healing (the mad king has a new wound, the other Suga in that video has a scar, the police officer has a faint scar, and the criminal / Joker has no scar) shows how he is freeing himself from this self-inflicted pain.

corLeonis

GOOOOOOD MORNINGGGG

Luka-shiki

Yes pleaseeee watch BTS x IU content!! 💜💜 IU has 2 songs with Suga (People pt 2 and Eight) and a song with V (Love Wins All). V, Suga & Jhope also went to her show "IU Palette''

E L

My KINGGGGG

Jo

Man just give us a 5hr long video at this point😩

East

I'm an RM bias!!! For RM I highly recommend Joke, Groin, Come Back To Me, and Nuts (Joke is a must)

SIM_X💜

Agust d single was a diss track to the haters mainly the underground rapper bros who looked down on rm and him. he cooked them really well.

Luka-shiki

Please for V - Singularity and Winter Ahead and Arson for Jhope!!

bella⁷

15:15 just wait until you dive deeper into all of their solo works!! they work so beautifully as a group because they are so different from one another and they also shine so brightly as individuals as well. their solo works are all so unique and AMAZING

Steph K

Also, if you're taking suggestions, the final concert on Agust D's D-Day tour is emotional and amazing. It's a great showcase of Yoongi's rapping, but also his willingness to be honest and raw about his feelings. He knew it was going to be the last time he'd be on stage before beginning his military / social service, so it hit him quite hard.

Tivy

2:20 YOU GIYS TRYING TO PRONOUNCE DAECHWITA IS KILLING ME 😭

jemmy

YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

E L

the butchering of song titles is hilarious😂

jemmy

I can die now

H

It’s okay guys at the end of his last solo concert in Seoul he finally walks out the door. He has now said he is done with the Agust D part of himself. He isn’t angry anymore he found peace. What happened in August was so dumb the media blew it out of proportion. Who gets a dui for rising a scooter?? Only in South Korea. It wouldn’t have been news but because it was a BTS member it was treated like he committed murder.

ribreadio

BLESSED 🙌✨🔥

Sabrina99

For V‘s Solo Songs please react to Friends!

Aiden

Yesss Jiminnn

Sabrina99

🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

East

For J-Hope I recommend MORE, Arson, Mona Lisa, and Sweet Dreams or Killin' It Girl

tangerine⁷

Luka-shiki

Guys for V solos, PLEASEEEE do these!!💜🙏💜💜🙏💜🙏💜 - WINTER AHEAD - SINGULARITY - LOVE ME AGAIN - STIGMA Also, later do check out "V - Tiny desk" & "Le Jazz De V" They are so fun!

emanuela

Luka-shiki

Marie

And winter ahead !

Luka-shiki

JOKE 🔥🔥But I love Wildflower too!!

mina

25:35 yes. he has a song about it

Marie

Yes! ❤️

Nanami's Wife

Love that you guys started the deep dive of solos with Yoongi first. The line "Ya fried rappers should be thankful that I am an idol" always gets me. Speak your truth Suga

Marie

I’m always disappointed it’s too short 😩

Sabrina99

It’s always so crazy how different every album and solo project is like I’ve been a fan since 2016 (blood, sweat & tears got me hooked lol) and in July I’m going to my third bts concert and they still manage to surprise me 😮‍💨

020125

Loved the reaction! 💜please JIMIN next do serendipity, like crazy, who, set me free pt 2 💜💜💜 jimin made history as the first korean soloist to top billboard hot 100 👀 really hoping to see jimin solos, since you began with a vocalist and then did a rapper I think reacting to another vocalist is a great pattern to follow (example - Jungkook, SUGA, Jimin, RM, Jin, J-hope, V)

beannie

so excited for jhope and rms solo music

Marie

❤️❤️❤️

Nanami's Wife

The way people were milking that in Korea was insane, like there's not other issues we should be more anger abt like their messed up justice system

Callie

Not the tongue technology!!! I freaking love him. Thank you guys, 4 in 1 is amazing

SIM_X💜

oo yh... the d day final concrert was crazy.

mina

the scooter one is nothing. he was a bit tipsy and fell off in front of his house lol. but the korean media dragged him through hell and back🫩

I’m Tired

if ya'll wanna do an IU special day we wouldn't be opposed, they have many collabs with IU. People pt2 by agust d ft. IU , Love wins all by IU with V in the MV, Eight by IU ft. Suga, there's a live performance that i love from IU's own youtube talk show, She performs J-hope's song Equal sign with him and He performs one of her songs with her. She's also has full interviews with V, Suga, and J-hope separately talking about their solo music. Alternately, she's been interviewed by suga on his drinking show, Suchwita, as well . If ya'll wanted to do an IU/BTS special collab day, there's plenty of content to choose from.

bella⁷

guys pleaseee react to bts festa room live 2021 after dipping your toes into more members’ solo projects. i would love to see you guys react to j-hope next though lol :’)

Kafio Ahmedeen

Such a surprise..thanks for the reaction..if ever you guys get a chance, please react to 'from nobodies to legends' and 'BTS hardships'....it shows what they went through and how they were treated in korea..also the scooter incident was made a big deal when it really wasn't.. hate to even remember that

SIM_X💜

It was a great reaction and thankyou for mentioning. He has always suffered from depresseion and sucidal thoughts due to the past specially the accident incident while working part time and he hurt his shoulder bad that after few years he got a surgery for it. So its the sad phase of his life. The trilogy has hopefully ended as in the recent interview with rolling stone he mentioned that he felt quite resolved after the final d day album and agust d has wrapped up as he dont have any sad thoughts left in his body. The door you see in the amygdala he finally opened it in the final d day concert and passed through with a smile looking at armies marking that he is fully happy now and has nothing negative in his mind. Thankyou for doing the reaction Will wait for more rm and suga are my bias ofc i love rap. Will look forward to more solo song reactions

beannie

where are the IU reactions🗣️ get them for me mckay

E L

I love how angry suga was in agust d

E L

RM NEXT!!

zaphyre

Fun fact: The last song on Suga’s solo tour was actually Amygdala, and the concert always ends with him finally walking out of a prop door because he’s finally overcome the pain from his earlier years 💜

Callie

Views are lower on amygdala bc we can’t stand watching it seeing him in friggin pain man 😭😭 that MV gets me everytime

SIM_X💜

and he writes his lyrics as he is also main writer for bts as well. A lot of his songs are written produced composed and sing by him.

S Moonchild⁷

Yoongi says he is much better now! Very happy for him, he looks like he is in the right place as well

patricia jimjimcherie

Thank you for this upload! Amygdala is my favorite from the trio, but in general Yoongi’s most personal and raw songs are my favorite, like The Last, which was a song that really held me up in 2016.

asren

You guys are gonna be shocked when you hear some of rapline’s songs, like the Cypher series, Ddaeng, UGH!, and Outro: Tear. I can’t wait to see your reactions

Rana

For RM wild flower, Joke and Groin, do you!! Jhope 👉🏼 More, Arson, Monalisa, killing it girl Jin don’t say you love me, I’ll be there, Running wild, the Astronaut ( Astronaut is a MUST)

Kelly Melvin

RM is an underrated solo member imo. His music style isn’t mainstream and I get that it’s not everybody’s cup of tea, but the depth of his thoughts are so mesmerizing

SIM_X💜

For j hope you must do Sweet dreams Killin it girl Mona lisa Arson More Arson and more are more aggressive ones and the other three are really good pop rap songs.

sums ☆

exactly.. not to mention the musicality. his music isn’t just music it’s art. even conceptually it’s interesting. i have no doubt that album would have won numerous grammy’s if made by any white western artist

S Moonchild⁷

Suga is free and does whatever he wants, but he is more of a "I don't care what you say or think" guy, he is not like wild irl. I would describe him as a mature and private person. JK is more wild in general sense if we are choosing one. But overall they are all mature for their age and don't do stupid things

sums ☆

i suppose that’s the mark of an artist who started out as a poet!

bizarre☆azar

My suggestions for the boys who are left Jhope-sweet dreams, Mona Lisa, more, arson, on the street RM-still life, wildflower, domodachi, LOST!, come back to me Jimin-filter (live performance), set me free pt 2, like crazy, who Jin-the astronaut, I’ll be there, running wild, background, don’t say you love me V-tiny desk video, fri(end)s, winter ahead

SIM_X💜

They didnt saw them🤭🤭they are hilarious

Rana

I love AGUST d songs so much… I like how he always honest and talk about really realistic stuff He really suffered a lot, many bad things happened to him but look at him now. hard work and talent pays off and he really looks happy these days, he is healed

E L

react to suga / jhope / rm songs in bts albums, ITS ALL BANGERS I PROMISE ddaeng (rm’s part is magnificent) UGH outro: tear cypher (there are 3 of them)

TiTi Go

Ya'll have to do RM next: Joke (do the lyric video because the mv doesn't have subs), Wildflower, and Nuts Live video. Purple you

SIM_X💜

Woww nice explanation🫡

SIM_X💜

Yesahhh these are the best songs from him

Tivy

I find that many BTS reactors were originally rap reactors who got recommended Agust D (or another rapline member), and then completely fall down the BTS rabbit hole lol. Now you guys can see why, his talent is insane! I really loved this reaction, you guys picked up on a lot of Yoongi’s style, lyricism, and overall story/message, especially for a first dive into his solo work. If you want more chill songs by him, he has some amazing b-sides on all his albums, and his song “Snooze” and his one with IU are great ones.

jemmy

I really hate that it comes up anytime they search him.

luvbug

More jhopppeeee & RM

Totaa

Yesss next jhope 🙏

jemmy

Agust D was a persona Suga created to process his rage, anger and trauma and basically vent all his negative emotions . He said he no longer feels anger anymore and basically healed, so I believe he won't be releasing anything under Agust D anymore.

Totaa

suga is my bias 😻

jemmy

He has solo songs under SUGA too like So Far Away and First Love etc

mina

so, a little backstory on suga: before he even started with bts, he was dealing with depression and social phobia. his family was really disapproving of his dream and didn’t support him at all because, realistically, a career like this is super uncertain. but he kept grinding anyway and eventually auditioned for bighit and got in. the problem was that trainees obviously don’t make money, and back then the company itself was close to bankruptcy, so he had to support himself somehow and started working part-time jobs. during one delivery shift, a car hit him and seriously injured his shoulder. he was scared the company would think he was just a burden because they barely had money for anything, let alone his treatment, and if he couldn’t perform properly, what use would he even be to them? so he basically just gritted it out and went untreated for years. he even told the members he just fell down the stairs and it wasn't a big deal. and during all of that, he was still fighting his own inner demons. once he had such a severe panic attack they actually had to cancel a concert. but over the years he slowly started getting better mentally, partly because of the members and just being in a healthier environment overall. he fixed his relationship with his parents, started working on himself, and mellowed out a lot with time. mckay, you're right. he really was a very angry person when he was younger. suga himself mentions it often. he was angry at the world, at himself, at his parents, at haters, at seniors who mocked him, pretty much everything. but as he healed over the years, you can really see how peaceful he feels now. then in 2020, because of the pandemic, they finally had enough free time for him to properly deal with his shoulder, so he got surgery and was absent from activities for a few months while recovering. even after the surgery, the damage and chronic pain still affected him long-term to the point he was deemed unfit for regular active-duty service. so instead of serving as an active soldier, he fulfilled his mandatory service as a social service worker.

Ana

Yes our Gangsta Yoongi ain’t to be played with. His Storytelling I’m MVs are sooo poetic. And yes actor Yoongi he acts so well all the members can. What I’m about to say is gonna be an undeniable fact you will not find a better rapline in kpop. BTS rapline are too goated at this shit. They actually write their raps. Their bars and lyricism actually make sense and have substance. They also pay homage and appreciation to culture and community hip hop comes from. Other groups on the other hand… not even gonna bring that up lol. Amygdala is my fav Yoongi song I just relate a lot and it’s such a sad bop I live for sad bops. Also you guys haven’t even listened to a percentage of BTS songs. A lot of their music is dark and emotional. Their first few albums were mostly hip hop. Also don’t think of one member as just one certain way. Remember the boracity guide told you that all the members break out of those boxes. For example y’all would be shocked at Jimin’s first album face. That album is dark and sad af. Jhope also stepped into a darker part of himself with jack in the box and his latest singles he’s a whole new sexy persona called Jay. Or Jungkook gives pop boy energy but write their most pretty emotional songs. Same with Tae he writes some of the saddest songs. RM’s music makes you think hard and Jins sweet rock music Last I just want to state that all 7 of the members have had extreme depression and some points in their career. They also faced a lot of pressure with fame and everything it got so bad they were thinking of disbanding in 2018. The members have talked about their struggles in the group and alone in documentaries and interviews. 2018 mma they performed and won they were sobbing so hard because they were really considering to end the group. Would love a reaction to both the performance and their acceptance speech

jemmy

I think it was Cannon that mentioned in the docu reaction video that Suga always likes his music to have some sort of message. Couldn't agree more.

Rana

And u guys need to check more BTS music as a group 😭 many good songs, like Not today, fire, Dope, Spring day and Blood sweat&tears, Save me, Airplane pt2 like They have TOO MANY I can’t even mention all of them And the rap line songs! The 4 cyphers

jemmy

Thank you for this

jemmy

Amygdala is not a video you watch too many times.

Steph K

Seriously. When I first heard about it, I was like, "Whoa, drunk driving? I love Yoongi, but that's something I can't forgive easily..." Then I saw the CCTV video of him gliding down the sidewalk on a scooter going 5mph and stumbling when he tried to stop. I was like, "THIS is what you're talking about? How embarrassing." It's the first time I really understood why people criticize the Korean media, especially when it comes to BTS.

Ana

Yoongi has struggle so much mentally and then stupid kmedia try to paint him as a evil villain for falling off a scooter. Treated him like a criminal. He went completely silent. I will never forgive them. Also idk if you guys know but BTS and the Korean government are not really on good terms. They like to use BTS for gain but also make use the example and to show they still have the real power. Another reason why army fights so hard for them. But I’m so happy seeing Yoongi coming back out and smiling more. He deserves the world especially when he’s does so much and contributes to helping people. All the members are very giving. Donating, visiting orphanages. Doing most of these things secretly. I love them so much. Sorry getting a little emo thinking about the constant hate they get for just breathing

mina

carter confidently singing std is cracking me up😭😭😭

Tivy

RM - “Wild Flower”, “Come Back To Me”, “Still Life”, “Joke”. JIN - “The Astronaut”, “Don’t Say You Love Me”, “Epiphany”, “Super Tuna”. J-HOPE - “Mona Lisa”, “Killin’ It Girl”, “Sweet Dreams”, “On The Street”. JIMIN - “Who”, “Like Crazy”, “Set Me Free Pt. 2”. V - “Winter Ahead”, “Singularity”, “Love Me Again”. JUNGKOOK - “3D”, “Still With You”, “Dreamers”, “Standing Next To You ft. Usher”. IMPORTANT INFO: “Epiphany” and “Singularity” are JIN and V solo songs, but they were released under BTS. They do have videos, and they are super popular, so I highly recommend them! “Joke” by RM is totally different from his usual style, and it’s older (the “Rap Monster” days), so watching it after the others would be an amazing contrast. And then for JUNGKOOK I know you already reacted to him, but these are other great ones. “3D” features Jack Harlow, and “Dreamers” was his song for the world cup. They both have videos.

mina

of course, i hope they read it🙏

mina

reactions during agust d were priceless🤩

jemmy

2024 was traumatizing. The witchhunt was unbearable. They got me scared for him

Tivy

The constant jaw drop is so real

Beth Edwards

Korea and China share thousands of years of cultural history, and most Korean and Chinese dynasties have similarities. Other K-pop groups that pay homage to this are StrayKids (as seen on album covers such as IN生 [IN LIFE], 合 (HOP) - SKZHOP HIPTAPE, Slash, GO生 (GO LIVE), 樂-STAR (ROCK-STAR), and in their Divine mv, although that's much more of an early Korean culture-based concept.), and in IVE's 'HEYA' mv!

Priscila Ikeda

Every time I watch Amygdala, it makes me feel sad, but by the end I’m just relieved he finally opened that damn door at his last concert before enlisting 😭 Btw, y’all should watch D-DAY Tour The Final. His solo concert is INSANE.

Xoul

So true. I forget you can consider some of their songs dark bc the beats are so good and not the usual dark vibes 🫢

Ana

I was so worried that he would hurt himself 2024 was definitely a hard year. But luckily he’s strong all our boys are so strong for what they been dealing with

mina

korea borrowed their writing system from china and later reformed it to what it is today. so yeah cannon you're kinda right

katie_belle⁷ ⟭⟬

Love how he just walks fast and ignores the K-media at the airport now. That was rude, Yoongi… do it again 👏

Ana

Yes I always say BTS are the masters of making sad bops lol. Like why am I crying and twerking? lol 😂😂😭

mina

GOATED

gomin

Please also watch the BTS Daechwita live performance. The whole group rapping live was actually insane 🔥

corLeonis

If you react to RM solo, please include any of the song from his Mono mixtape (Seoul perhaps, i feel like you'll like it 😁)

Sofia Gomez

If you want to hear more from the rap line you should react to their cyphers. Here are the link for the lyrics Cypher pt. 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kh4krMpD00g Cypher pt. 2 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fo7M-DzopQ Cypher pt. 3 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ktszP05TUY Cypher pt. 5 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZEtB3tajMM In 2017 they did a medley of the cyphers i couldn't find a link in Youtube but i found this one https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7ulo8l you should react after reacting to all the cyphers Another rap line song that i love is Tear https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7hZ8Z9sM38 and the live is incredible https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDuaJGYe8EQ

Ana

Yes Katie I loved how he said fuck them. Y’all ain’t getting nothing from him anymore

StackingSpaghettiSauce

Suga's 2012 accident caused a dislocated shoulder. Since it was pre-debut, he was afraid to tell anyone because he wasn't supposed to have a part-time job and an injury could've been seen as a liability. He thought he'd get cut from the group. Eventually the company found out and everything was fine. The members found out years later when he got drunk on a livestream and started talking about it. He mentioned waking up on the ground with the car's tire inches from his face and everyone was sitting there like 😳. His shoulder continued to give him issues and he was later diagnosed with a torn labrum that he had to get surgery on in 2020. When the members all got matching '7' tattoos, he put his on his left shoulder Suga has talked about struggling with anxiety, depression, and OCD. As far as whether or not he's ever struggled with self-harm, I suggest listening to the song "The Last" and drawing your own conclusions

mina

i absolutely live for yoongi's lyrics. that's actually my favorite thing about his music. please do read them again when you have time🙏

Marie

Seriously we need redemption for V after you guys called him the duff of the group haha 😂 All of his solos are special, and after you get a glimpse of his artistic creativity you will understand him so much more! Singularity Slow dancing Winter Ahead Fri(end)s Love me again Rainy days Sweet night Stigma His tiny desk….

Isabella B.

Thanks for such a great reaction guys! Here are some suggestions for each of the remaining members, in case you wanted some! J-hope: Sweet Dreams, Mona Lisa, Killin' It Girl, Arson RM: Wildflower, Come Back to Me, Joke Jimin: Set Me Free Pt. 2, Like Crazy, Who V: Love Me Again, Slow Dancing, FRI(END)S Jin: The Astronaut, Running Wild, Don’t Say You Love Me

jemmy

25:35 Unfortunately Carter, he has a song on that called 'The Last'

mina

absolutely!! i really want them to react to rpwp soon😊

EmlovesOP

Now I have to relisten to the rap lines mixed tapes this is my shittt

Priscila Ikeda

His last solo concert was such an emotional rollercoaster. I vividly remember how I felt when he cried, when he finally revealed the “7” tattoo location (on the scar on his shoulder from the accident), and when he walked through that door 😭

Tivy

Agust D’s music touches a lot on the heavier parts of his life and mindset. Ambition, anger, fame, identity, anxiety, depression, trauma, and trying to survive. A lot of the themes in these songs connect back to things he’s been open about before, like his mental health struggles, the pressure of success, poverty before BTS, and his shoulder injury from a delivery accident before debut. So when you see the intense imagery in these songs, he’s using it to show the different versions of himself, the pain he’s carried, and how he’s fought to take control of his own story. It’s powerful but vulnerable.

chris

Aarghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh YESSSSSSS! 😭😭😭😭😭

mina

i can already imagine how hyped they will be🔥🔥

StackingSpaghettiSauce

Vindication for Cannon. It was Chinese... kinda. Korea's first writing system was a borrowing of Chinese characters before they switched to Hangul. Japanese also uses Chinese characters as Kanji

Black_galaxi BTS

Please react to RM wildflower, agust d snooze

Mimi

If Jhope is next I recommend daydream, More, Mona Lisa, and hope on the street

Da'Al

If you did rm, don’t forget “joke” And if you did jimin, do serendipity LIVE, it has to be live

Yeontae

Please V’s Tiny Desk

BTS’ rap line are the GOATs in K-pop. What makes them different is that they’re not just idol rappers, they actually write and produce their own music, and you can truly hear their individuality in every verse. Their lyricism, flows, delivery, and versatility are on another level. A lot of groups have good rappers, but nobody has replicated the artistry and impact that BTS’ rap line has. They're in a league of their own.

jemmy

And yt just being a btch too

LaurAbroad

My bias 💜 love them all, but he’s always had a special place for me

Beth Edwards

Suga kept his injury a secret from management and other members for like 7 years or something like that, and he was doing all the dances and performances while needing surgery and other physical therapy help for his shoulder (which was hurt during the car accident). He got a matching tattoo with the 6 other members above the scar from his shoulder operation.

Geev

welcome welcome to the deeper level knowing them geks, keep going, i do love this segment of their solo songs

floo

Rapline songs goes hard Tear - my fav of all time and Cyphers, Ddaeng, Ugh

Black_galaxi BTS

My recommendations are RM wildflower, stop the rain , moonchild . JIN heart to the Windows , don't Say You love , running wild. AGUST D snooze , what do You think and huh ? Feat jhope. JHOPE mona lisa , killing it girl and arson. V ( TAEHYUNG ) love me again , for us , Friends. JIMIN set me free , who and like crazy . JUNGKOOK dreamers , hate You , still whit you

mina

i think it's time to slowly start watching rise of bangtan!!😊

floo

I always appreciate Suga s song writing and producing skills. Lot of his lyrics are so thoughtful like snooze, bts throwback song called tomorrow too.

G. A

I love Geks for not following the “natural” flow of kpop reactions 🫰🏻🫰🏻I discover kpop bc of Jhope’s hope world mixtape, i thought he was a solo artist 😔

NOELIA

JIMIN Who, Like crazy and Set me free pt2 pls!!!

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

That live version of Cypher pt. 3 where RM does Supreme Boi's chorus is epic.

mina

btw suga has TWO songs with IU🤩. they are really good friends!!

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

No "The Last" is kinda crazy but it deserves a video on its own anyways😅

Hanah

RM: JOKE, WILD FLOWER, LOST, NUTS

Hanah

JHOPE: MORE, ARSON, NEURON, KILLING IT GIRL

Anya

Suga said he had massive mood swings whenever he worked on Amygdala because he had to bring up some unpleasant memories to work on it. Said it's part of the treatment to bring back bad memories from your past and learn to control it. His solo concert was amazing and when he walked through that door I cried. He did it to show he's okay now. He's such an inspiration to all who face similar demons and so brave to share it with the world. 🥹💜

Hanah

JIMIN: SET ME FREE PT.2, LIKE CRAZY, WHO, SERENDIPITY

CocoNam

The Astronaut is a must for Jin!

Elmo

When he's talking about pill-popping, it could be a commentary on current mumble rap which a lot of people assume, but I think he's talking to his past self. He most likely had to take medication for his anxiety, and he might have seen that as a "weak" version of himself. Since most Daechwita is him talking to his egotistical self, I think he's speaking more about himself than anyone else. I didn't realize that until Haegeum came out and you literally SEE him popping pills. And it makes sense even more, knowing the songs are linked.

CocoNam

And Stigma is a must for V!

Fedei

Please do Rm - Joke, one of the best raps I've heard from any artist

Anya

"Who should we do solo next?" Cannon: "JHOPE" 😂 I guess it's Jhope so let it be "killin it girl" "mona lisa" & "sweet dreams"

Elmo

You'll notice that in several of their solo songs, they have 6 extras. I don't think they've ever explicitly confirmed it, but many ARMY take this to represent the other 6 members. J Hope had 6 background dancers in CNS in one section, and Agust D had 6 gang members in Daechwita and Haegeum at the bginning.

CocoNam

I also find it interesting that this is the only MV where he tries to save the other version of himself instead of kill it.

CocoNam

And Stigma. His OSTs are great too. My favorite is Sweet Night

Ana

When they call him that?? 😭

CocoNam

I love "Do You"

Tivy

MCKAY I GOT AN IDEA! There’s a way to react to IU while still focusing on BTS. She has two really good and popular songs with Suga called “People pt. 2” and “eight”. My most highly recommended song by her is “Love Wins All”, and the MV features V! They’re both in it the whole time, and it’s a great video and song. I’ve seen a lot of people compare them in the MV to Eren and Mikasa too 👀

CocoNam

And Stigma

Irene (DragonsWrathxxx)

RM, Suga, and Jhope are known as the Three Pillars of BTS. They were the first three in the group, and the ones who, even from the beginning, have been most envolved with writing lyrics, composition, and production, etc..... Not to mention, each one of them, even in group songs, whether they took part in helping to make the song in general or not so much, they still almost always write their own verses. At the very least.

LaurAbroad

You guys would like people pt 2 its so cute and IU is heavenly on the feature

Elmo

I agree, but I hope they switch one of the love songs out for an Arson, or More, since they already think J Hope is just a "party party yeah" kind of dude all the time, especially after watching CNS lol. I REALLY want them to listen to JHope's Hope World mix tape one day (named after J. Cole's first album, Cole World). It's only 20 min long and IMO has the best mix of J Hope's styles. And has several songs that he performed at Lollapalooza.

CocoNam

RM- Do You. Jimin- Serendipity. J-Hope More.

lil meow meow

3:34 that was jin and jungkook in the background

Chivi Moon 🌙

Seeing Yoongi during the ARIRANG Tour after military service honestly feels so healing. The final D-Day tour felt like the closing of a painful chapter for him, and now he just seems lighter and more at peace. The way he laughs, connects with ARMY, and shines on stage feels different in the best way. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but as someone whose bias is Yoongi, it’s really comforting to witness this version of him.

Irene (DragonsWrathxxx)

Let me see....if you want to do jhope should do- - Mona Lisa - Killin it girl - Sweet Dreams -Hangsang - More - Arson - Baseline - 1verse -Airplane I would definitely start with newer ones and sprinkle some older ones in there. Jhope is known to have a very no skip discography though....literally.

Anya

I'm happy yall are enjoying the solos. Can't wait for more OT7 content. So many epic and iconic songs yall barely scratched the surface. Festa room live has a great medley mix and tiny desk is also great.

lil meow meow

Yall need to watch cyphers lyrics

Jin Jin

2024 Accident was actual bs, they milked it so bad. First of all he didn’t even hit anyone was going so slow people walked past him and only fell bc he sharp turned. His “fall” wasn’t even that bad either when I seen the footage bc everyone and their momma was sharing it I laughed seriously it was severely underwhelming

Heather

Thank yall so much for doing Agust D and the trilogy in one video!! No better way to experience them!! I think yall should complete the rap line and do RM and jhope! RM- Do You/Joke, Seoul/Moonchild, Wild Flower/ Still Life, Lost!/Come Back To Me Jhope- 1Verse, Daydream/Airplane, Arson/More, On The Street, Mona Lisa/Killin It Girl. Those are their songs from different albums/eras that mostly have music videos.

RS123

Y'all don't know the craze Daechwita had when it came out

Heather

I think there’s one mv for Joke not on the official channel that has really good subs. I’ll try to find the link

RS123

Suga is actually one of the members who has struggled with mental health the most throughout the years.

Elmo

None of these are even Agust D's most heart-wrenching song. 'The Last' takes the cake for that one, just on the emotion and rawness in his voice alone. The part time job scooter incident is even more heartbreaking when you know the full story. Many trainees were supported by their families, or they were in established companies that foot or loaned the bill. BigHit was BigBROKE and there's a story about the company telling pre-debut RM, Suga, and J Hope (when it was just the 3 of them in the BTS project) they would need to leave the dorms and find their own lodging bc the company couldn't afford it anymore. And the 3 of them flat out refused to go. On top of that Suga's family was lower class (not quite poverty level I don't believe), and they didn't really support him at first, so he HAD to work part time, while making music, and being a trainee. When he got in his accident, he didn't tell the company at first bc he was afraid they wouldn't debut him. When he finally told them, they paid for his treatment and pain management/therapy , and he eventually got surgery nearly 10 years later, during Covid. He had to complete a longer, 2yr civil service alternative due to his injury, in the military.

Elmo

When he started sobbing to the point he could barely sing, I almost died. I felt so much for him. But at the same time I could tell that it was healing for him. I had never seen such a vulnerable and emotional performance (like REAL emotion, not performative), from an artist before. I'm sure it's happened before, but I had never encountered it and it almost broke me, in a good way.

C-Seanna

Yes! If possible maybe the stage mix! (but if that's not what others would want to see so soon I get it)

Elmo

I will scream at my computer the day they finally do. I'm so geeked for them to get into it.

Kendall

The music in the beginning of Daechwita is Korean a lot of ancient Korean songs have a “Chinese” vibe because they are influenced by china like most Asian countries.

Tiffany

For RM I would add Lonely, Joke, Nuts and Still Life

RS123

Jimin - Like crazy, Who & Set me Free pt2 Jhope- Arson, More & Killin' it girl RM- Wildflower, come back to me & Lost Jin- Epiphany(Live), Don't say you love me & Running Wild V- Rainy days ,Winter ahead & Love me again

It’s funny how he’s such a cutey in run BTS and just in general then he’s just a beast in his music. Then he also has those calming and slower songs like people pt2. Very well rounded

Saryn

For V: winter ahead, singularity, fri(end)s, slow dancing, love me again. And the live performance in tokyo dome for singularity!

Noha⁷

Also the Korean media are scummy pieces of shit. All media really

Etain

so suga is his current person and Agust D is his alternate persona. Both are him but he has now retired from Agust D since he has resolved his angst and anger from the world. So he's performing as Suga from now on Also Cannon, it's not Agust D being an idol that's holding him back, but rather the other rappers should be glad that he's an idol instead of being a full time rapper, because otherwise he would body them LOL

Nikita

YEEEEEEEESSS AGUST D!

NicoleW

Mad respect for you know that is Chinese at the beginning of the Daechwita

magicgnome7

I know u guys have a lot to react to. but i RLY feel like his documentary "road to d day" and his concert are worth watching. he's not even my bias but I feel like he's just so truly impressive as an artist

chris

gekss, there is a post going on saying yoongi is always quiet in bangtan setting because their chaos is his comfort place, and that silences the demons/madness/chaos of his own mind. and i absolutely get that significance.

G. A

Guys I know that BU storyline of bts was all fictional but all this years of listening to yoongi’s Music felt like BigHit made BU based of his real life struggles 🫩🫩.

nelle

The 2024 “incident” is him falling off an electric scooter, outside his home, no one around. Police happened to stumble upon him (again outside his house) and realized he fell off cause he had a few drinks at a restaurant with friends like less than 10 min from his house. He was genuinely going so slow on the scooter there was people out walking him 😭 the stupidest “scandal” I’ve ever seen in my lifeeee

nelle

Also for clarification yoongi was literally hit by a whole ass car but couldn’t tell anyone bc at the time bts was getting ready to debut and he was worried that if he told the members or the company, they would force him to have surgery delaying the debut or worse he would be kicked out the group and not able to debut at all. So he literally hid a severely injured shoulder for the first 7 years of their career and finally was able to get surgery and go through rehabilitation during covid in 2020 since it gave them some break time. So every time you’re seeing them do insane choreo and it’s before mid 2020, remember Suga was doing all of that with a completely busted shoulder.

NicoleW

I think Tokyo day2 will be the best

katie_belle⁷ ⟭⟬

YESSS!! And maybe we can add Arson too for a little switch in genre 😊

raiourz

V - WINTER AHEAD AND FRI(END)S

chris

the drunk and driving incident was pure BS. seriously, and yes drinking and driving is dangerous, we are not just saying it’s BS because we love him, it actually was BS, the video of him going on his scooter at a very grandpa like speed then the kmedia dragging him like that, i’m glad he’s keeping his distance.

raiourz

winter ahead too

raiourz

and fri(end)s

Dagny

I would say none of them are wild. Suga is very introspective but has a determination and strong will to present his thoughts and feelings as a means of helping himself and others deal with their issues. He is very supportive and encouraging towards the other members as well, giving them a platform to comfortably discuss their solo projects with Suchwita, trying to get them to learn musical instruments to sustain and adapt their group longevity 😂 etc. JK doesn’t like to dwell on things and is a curious soul, so he loves to explore and try new things; he can be quite random. 😊

Audrey Walker

I vividly remember my first time watching Daechwita🤯 Suga’s solo work is filled with masterpieces!! I love how a lot of his music & MVs play around with this sense of duality within his mind or personality. Y’all didn’t notice, but Jin & JK are in the back fighting of the MV when he’s going through the marketplace.

AA

YOOO!! You guys should react to all the cyphers. It’s interesting seeing how each of the 3 rappers changed over the years — their flow, style, and the meaning behind their lyrics all evolved differently.

Sarah

aggressive era yoongi was smth else😮‍💨🤭

katie_belle⁷ ⟭⟬

Guys, when it’s RM’s solo turn, please don’t forget to include “JOKE” and “Wildflower.” Those two songs are absolute musts! Is it just me, or does anyone else get emotional every time they listen to “Wildflower”? That song made me love Namjoon even more 🥹😭

kate

LMAOOO 😭

sofi ✿

TASTE! rpwp is also my favorite out of all the solo projects and i get really frustrated sometimes with how underappreciated it is... indigo is also really good as well, but maybe i'm biased since both align a bit more with my music taste

sofi ✿

there’s something so healing about having an artist you admire be as vulnerable and raw in his music as yoongi is. it makes everything feel that much more relatable!

Audrey Walker

Suga has said D-DAY completed his trilogy as AgustD as this alternate persona where he let out a lot of anger/trauna & it was cathartic. Now, he’s said he has no bad feelings left in his body and he seems much more comfortable now. I love that for him! I agree that Suga’s music does have similar themes with BTS’ music (especially earlier) that’s talked about pushing back against injustice in society. I’m so thankful for all Suga gave us before he started his military service. I was so amazed by him. He released D-DAY and was the first solo member of BTS to go on a world tour. He also filmed so many Suchwita episodes which he began to give the other members a space to promote their solo work on YouTube. He hosted other Korean actors/musicians/comedians too. He’s such a good interviewer & inquisitive with his questions. I would love to see him do it again if he has time in the future. Suga’s a quiet genius, such a gem in the group of BTS!

Tiffany

As much as I really love RPWP, Indigo is still my favorite RM album plus solo album out of everyone. When he said he wanted that album to be one you add to your playlist and to have longevity, he did just that cuz it’s almost 4 years later and I still haven’t moved on

Sarah

that suga "scandal" with the scooter is so freaking stupid it makes me mad just thinking abt it bc the situation was literally nothing compared to how it was portrayed and was a way for people to try to bring BTS down while they were away. But he apologized bc in the kpop industry idols usually apologize even if they didn't do anything wrong so their reputation wouldn't tank and suga prob saw all the buzz it was making and didn't want it to fall back on BTS

Audrey Walker

I love “Suga’s Interlude” with Halsey if y’all wanna check that out sometime! And Snooze is another personal favorite of mine from D-DAY. During Suga’s military service, he taught music to a school of autistic children. He’s developed a 12-step music therapy program for autism now to be released in a workbook. I’m studying counseling now & I really wanna get a copy when it’s made more widely available.

East

yeah haha ikkk, nuts is about being driven crazy sort of, like a relationship that made him go nuts. and groin is about things he needs to say straight from the groin, more like a saying or talking back about expectations not only set on him by haters, but by fans too. funnily enough they were both from the same album. He really is a genius HAHA

Aya

For joon JOKE and Wildflower have to be on there PLEASE

yall should totally react to the cyphers!! 1-4, they're so good and feature the rappers :)

Aya

Also we need a cypher 1-4 lyric reaction, you’ll see how different their rap styles are

Nikita

It's funny you guys are curious about Suga because when I first looked up BTS and saw a random interview of them on YouTube, I was thinking "wow this guy does NOT wanna be there" and found him so funny for being so himself and not putting up any facade. And then I watched him perform and I was like "whoa is that the same guy?" LOL All of BTS have insane duality but Yoongi's is definitely very noticeable from the start because he's so quiet off stage. Jimin is my bias and his off and on stage personas are also insanely different, but personality-wise I'm more like Yoongi so I feel a strong kinship with him. I love his music. His more mellow/sad songs are amazing too. When you guys do a deeper dive, I highly recommend going through all his albums/mixtapes but these songs are a must imo: 1. Interlude: Shadow (MY FAV) 2. The Last 3. Intro: Nevermind 4. People 5. Burn It (ft. Max) 6. Dear My Friend 7. Strange (ft RM) 8. Snooze Also since some of these don't have an official video, if you guys ever do lyric videos I highly recommend the channel DIAL 6137 on YT. They have really well translated lyric videos.

Anya

Great idea guys! <3

CE

JHOPE- ARSON, 1 VERSE, MONA LISA

Anya

Well said Elmo it was real emotions not performative. Such a cathartic moment for him! You're strong becuz I broke 😭 this song hits too close to home for me.

Nikita

I LOOOVE that he ignores the media at the airport now. My heart broke when I saw him apologize looking so depressed for LITERALLY NOTHING. I was so worried. You would think in a culture where suicide is so rampant, they would chill on these types of attacks on people but they're sadists and just want to see people suffer for fun. And of course, any opportunity to bring down BTS, they'll take it.

Bri

You gotta listen the rap line cyphers 1,2,3,4! You can get a feel for each of their individual flows

Nikita

Guys when you get to Jimin, besides doing the 3 that people recommend (Like Crazy, Set Me Free Pt 2 and Who) please PLEASE also do his song Lie. It is, in my opinion, his BEST SONG! Please use this performance specifically (there's no official vid since it's a b-side): https://youtu.be/Li1tqnc1N90?si=xA7h55Dcu4q9pEbS

chris

thankyou for the reaction, gekkksss!! 💜 We knew you’d get a different perspective of who yoongi is through his solo works. All of yoongi’s lyrics are extremely personal, introspective and symbolic. AgustD is a persona that SUGA has used to explore the other side of himself - the part that usually no one sees. It’s his way of letting the demons go. From the beginning, AgustD tracks have explored his inner conflict, his struggles with depression and social anxiety, and his anger against a society that oppresses and pressures young people into lives that are destructive. Yes, he has had suicidal ideations early on, he even discussed it in his song “THE LAST”. He also wishes to comfort people who are suffering through his lyrics, SNOOZE (with woosung) is all about that. I think the different personas are his way of expressing things he otherwise can’t as BTS member and also finding who he is, the bridge between a celebrity and a normal dude. some things about the MVs — 1. Daechwita — the sequence in the beginning where dark haired yoongi shows up he is with six other mates, we think it signifies the members of bts, jin and jk were in the MV, the butcher in the opening scene is the same guy who hands dark haired yoongi the colt so like they planned a coup, the MV is depicts dark haired yoongi standing up, and leading a revolt against the tyrant blonde haired king, you can look up daechwita explanation from DKDKTV, i think you’d love the deep dive. 2. Haegum — i feel like the dark haired yoongi that won in daechwita is the cop in haegum and this is all correlated and depicted as the cycle of greed for fame and money taking over him but the chopstick yoongi is finally the yoongi who knows all those things aren’t good in the long run and idk being at peace. the scene where he is smoking is a clap back on haters who were hating on V for smoking outside during grammys, in general a call out that we are adult men we can do whatever we want. 3. AgustD — you saw the hate rm&yoongi were getting for being idols from underground rappers in the guide video, this dropped some time after that, he says “being a pain in their ass, far from the sugar” because in the video they were calling him sugar, sweet not good enough to be a rapper, and that they should be happy he is an idol and not an underground rapper because he would have their job. 4. Amygdala — it’s almost autobiographical, the heart surgery his mum had when he was 3, he felt like a burden, his father having liver cancer in the early days of bangtan and feeling like “why all the bad things are happening to him”, the accident really happened, and poor yoongi was so scared that they will not let him in bangtan he hid it from the members and the company, only told when the injury became unbearable, finally got reconstructive surgery in 2020, the door you see that grey yoongi couldn’t go through in the MV, yoongi finally passed through the door in his last concert, signifying that his struggles are over and he is at peace with the past. The concert was incredibly cathartic to him and for us!

Sydney

JIMIN AND J-HOPE SOLOS PLEASE!!🙌🏻🙌🏻

chris

this, yes, and if you’d think of his past struggles, we were worried, glad he put all that energy into doing some good and not giving more of his energy into whatever the hate train that was. and i know alot of the dispatch posts are highlighting him ignoring the kmedia as contempt or a tit for tat thing but i think he has forgiven them (bcz he is talking about letting go alot) and just doesn’t give a flying F about those losers. watching him so happy with his boys is a relief. 💜

Mishianna Summerville

Hey first time commenting and i have been a silent supporter on your original channel for years but i guess i just came to give more context to the songs and how i interpreted them myself. This is a comment that i posted on another channel when amygdala first came out!! I believe this song is showing how yoongi compartmentalized all of his trauma and how his alter ego Agust D was born to help him deal with all the emotions that he was going through during this time. As you can see the scar is there and is fresh, while in daechwita it is still in the process of healing will in haegeum the scar is healed and how the "new" Agust D doesn't have a scar. So in it a sense i see it has Yoongi saying that he doesn't need Agust D anymore. And this album is a way of saying goodbye and thank you to him for helping him during those times.

Ana

Best list I’ve seen

Nana

Omf yesss still lifese

kri

So far away is another good agust d songggg

Nikita

Yeah, seeing him happy makes me feel so relieved. 🥹 I'm sure the members had his back and gave him the support he needed too. I can't remember how much he'd interact with the media before but it was almost the same I guess. Yeah it just looks like he's protecting his peace by not interacting with them and he's over it. Def not doing it out of pettiness cuz that's not him.

G. A

🔥🔥🔥

chris

it was really never much, he’d wave a little and bow. he just breezes past these day. 🤌🏻

jemmy

14:56 It's interesting Cannon says this because the lyrics he writes for Agust D , he cannot write for BTS. Like BTS is not new to sensitive, raw topics in their music but they mostly use metaphors and are sometimes less straight-forward about it. Agust D is too raw and personal for BTS. There are even people who are fans of Agust D but not BTS fans. I remember people used to debate whether 'Agust D' was a BTS member or not lmao

Rice

Wait what was the 2024 incident?

QoiArmy

I love you guys actually use your phone to look up things to know more instead of asking the comments (not a lot of reactors do that so this is refreshing) keep up the good work!

I looooove Suga's style, even down to the taste in mvs. He has a vision and knows how to portray it.

G. A

I need Geks to include in future jin’s solos his Maple story game developing. I know is not Music related but that’s his part time job🧑🏻‍💻 👉🏻👈🏻

Ezel⁷ ⊙⊝⊜

You guys don’t know Bts music yet, haven’t listened to them a lot so you’d be suprised that no their music isn’t surface level and there are manyyyyy songs similar to suga’s

sibbb

guys to learn more about all of them and suga, please watch suchwita its a drinking show hosted by suga so all members come on that show and talk a lot more about themselves ALL the questions you have will be answered. PLEASE watch Suchwita with all members. you will watch a different side of all but especially suga

kooskyu

did they miss the jin jk cameo on daechwita?

Tiara

guys, i think it’s time to watch ‘respect your seniors, mock your juniors’ by boracity after watching AGUSTD. you gotta know why he was full of anger back then. you have to know what they had to go through in the industry when they weren’t as big as they are now. it’s the perfect time guys, like really. everything AGUSTD said will make sense after watching the video. pleaseee

Moon

"Okay that was Chinese." HELP the look Carter gave Cannon after that observation had me laughing so hard To be fair, those characters do exist in Chinese writing, and you can even pronounce it a similar sounding way to the title of the song Daechwita, but considering it's a Korean song, it's probably pronounced differently in Korean. Nevertheless, there are some similarities in characters across Chinese, Korean and Japanese due to China's long history and its proximity to current day South Korea and Japan. The Korean and Japanese languages don't necessarily originate from the Chinese language, but it's widely recognised that they borrow some influence from it!

Rosalita16

You guys should react to More by Jhope

kooskyu

I'm grinning watching you all go crazy over AGUSTD cause same, the first time I watched it like?!!!?

kooskyu

So I think they'll be watching solos from each member. once done, i hope you'll react to one of their concerts - Yet To Come in Busan or Permission to Dance LA. I'll be holding unto that hope that you'll attend to one of their ARIRANG concerts so I won't suggest Tokyo D-2 (😭) even tho that's the best thing I can think of. I hope on Wednesday, you'll react to the RUN BTS Episode with T1. That's 2 of Korea's Big 4, Son Heungmin, Bong Joon Ho, Faker, BTS!

kooskyu

You'd actually love the D-DAY Tour. He's rapping left and right then pop off the piano and guitar, like he got it all!!

sofie

you guys need to react to more bts documentaries. i feel like youre losing the plot, of what bts had to do to achieve such great lengths.

kooskyu

2024 electric scooter was pure evil scheme towards yoongi and bts. their own media hates them because bts became popular without the help of their media.

kooskyu

this was truly one of the saddest angriest time of being an army bcs they really just paint yoongi as someone very evil then stretch stories, they can't even say the correct information cause they already had it all scripted out ugh

sofie

Listen to his song "the last" he explains everything there, it is very triggering though

Mitchel

How you guys pronounced the song names killed me 😂

blvemon

I think you should continue with this format of 3 more recent song and and one of their older release. For Namjoon I'd recommend: Wild Flower, Still Life, Nuts, and Joke. (tbh I can't even pick a favorite in his MONO mixtape I'd love for you guys to experience in its entirety) Jin: Background, I'll be there for you, Astronaut and Epiphany. (ngl Rope it would be a fun addition, and Abyss one of my beloved songs) Hobi: MORE, on the street ft. J Cole, NEURON (Equal Sign is so good too AAAAA) and HANGSANG -Edit: DAMN I forgot to mentions his singles Monalisa, killin' it girl, sweet dreams Jimin: set me free pt. 2, Like Crazy, Who (Alone is my personal fav of his album so I'm throwing it out there) and SERENDIPITY (another good one is LIE). Taehyung: Love me Again, FRI(END)S, For Us and STIGMA or Singularity. I tried to keep it to just four songs but it's impossible, there's so many goood songs 😭😭😭 I think one song that will give you further context to the extent of his struggle is "The Last", I honestly can't listen to this song without crying so you guys are warned.

J9k

Great comment giving a lot of important context and backstory!

Noha⁷

I remember watching the bts wired interview when i was new army and he just sat there and I was like he really doesn't say anything. then I got into the run bts eps and he was hella chaotic. the difference was so funny and on stage he just flicks a switch

Noha⁷

Suga actually said he felt like Agust D was wrapped up and after that final album, he doesn't have any negative feelings left in his body. I'm sad he won't make more music through that medium but I wouldn't want it any other way❤️‍🩹

Noha⁷

The way other groups were treating yoongi was disgusting. Seeing all that kinda puts me off getting into any other group even though I know it's not actually that groups fault, it's the fans.

Elmo

Not only that, the reason why Agust D songs hit so hard isn't just the cursing and aggressive rapping. It's the incredibly raw and personal lyrics. Agust D's stories aren't transferrable to anyone else but Suga/Yoongi. I think BTS as they get more into their solo bags, are doing an increasingly better job at bringing a piece of their own style to the groups projects. You see this especially with Arirang. People (mostly antis cosplaying as disgruntled fans, though honestly), complained Arirang wasn't like their old work. But if you really listen the the members' solos, you know that Arirang is very much a reflection of the individual members' styles.

Merry

Jin and jk fighting in daechwita the moment is so funny😆

Elmo

If you do Agust D's The Last (which doesn't have an mv), please use this lyric video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DB_AP7DLQ0w There's another popular one that while the translations are not bad, they are literal translations, and not translated in a way that connects to English speakers, and IMO alot of the meaning of the song is lost in awkward phrasing.

moonchild

Yes he mentioned pill popping in daechwita but that was as in "I don't need to take drugs to rap well". But the pills in amygdala were referring more to medication he used for his mental health problems. If u noticed the pills turned into almonds later showcasing his journey towards healing. The entire amygdala song is based on his own life and traumas. Depression, anxiety, OCD, the accident durning his part-time job where he crashed his shoulder and injured it pernamently, his mom's heart surgery, his dad's liver cancer etc. It all happened but Yoongi said that he healed after the final album and has no negative feelings left.

Elmo

I also think the pill popping could be him talking to his egotistical king self, as much of Daechwita appears to be a conversation between the 2 main sides. The "weak pill popper" could refer to when he was sick, and needed medication to deal with his traumas and anxiety. This connects even more since the 2 songs are linked. BTS lyrics are amazing at saying 2 things with one mouth.

Elmo

GREAT list. I still don't think I've listened to Dear My Friend without crying.

yoongi

The scooter incident…

Elmo

I know he's mentioned a lot about saving his energy for performing too. He's definitely a "leave it all on the stage" sort of guy. There are so many funny compilation vids of BTS members wiling out, with Yoongi sitting meditatively still, just zoned out, or watching curiously lol. I have never seen a more cat-like person. He even gets his random popcorn fits of energy like a cat. There are rare moments where Yoongi is the most hyper of the group, and even the guys have commented on this tendency several times lol.

Elmo

Your last sentence. Exactly. He's referring to the intense schedule of an idol in general, but also a commentary on how booked BTS is specifically, as he immediately goes into saying how he's busy 24/7. Yoongi has commented several times that being an idol has actually influenced the expansion his music and production, and he has said he actually prefers writing more melodic type songs than raps.

Elmo

And to this day he ignores them at airports, events, wherever lol. They don't even call for him. I laughed for an inappropriate length of time when the media crowded around yelling at Jimin and J Hope to get their attention when they left the airport to get into their cars. Then after they get in, you see Yoongi quietly and quickly SKIRTing the media to get to his car and you could hear a pin drop. Nobody yelled a damn thing. Then you hear a couple reporters mumbling to eachother "that's Yoongi, right?" "Yeah, that's Yoongi". And even after confiming with eachother, nobody says anything. Just silently and awkwarly snaps pics while he gets into the car. I.....DIED.

Rosie ♥︎

I’ve never been so angry for someone in my life regards to the scooter incident 😂 - and the fact that we (a lot of army) have all been wanting him to unleash “August d” and release a cypher style song. But he has never been/ seem happier than he does right now. And he says he has no anger left. That just goes to show what he’s like as a person!

Elmo

A scooter that was going less than 3 mph on a sidewalk. It was basically an electric kickboard with a seat.

Elmo

He has never said he attempted it. I know suicidal ideation was vaguely referenced in The Last, but that is WAY different than attempting.

LilyLiv

Agreed!!

noor

we all wanted him to unleash his agust d side after that damn scooter incident because it was the stupidest bs ever but instead we got “come over” 🥹 which is a hidden track on arirang but it’s getting copyrighted on youtube so idk how you’ll be able to listen to it but it’s TOP songs on arirang imo

C⁷💜

Long comment incoming☺️ His trilogy of Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala reflects his personal growth and inner struggles. Daechwita represents anger, confidence, and fighting against expectations, showing a powerful and rebellious side of him. Haegeum focuses more on the idea of freedom and questions what it truly means to be free from pressure, fame, and personal desires. Amygdala is the most emotional part of the trilogy, where Yoongi opens up about trauma, fear, his shoulder accident, family struggles, and painful memories. Together, the trilogy tells a story of ambition, self-reflection, and healing, showing how Yoongi turned his pain and experiences into art through his music as Agust D.

The vast majority of BTS work is NOT surface level. You may just be missing the deeper meaning in some of the group or solo work you have seen. They are nuanced and layered storytellers. Suga/Agust D is just very blunt and raw about his messaging. It's not subtle so it's more obvious sometimes.

Nanci

Agust D is a savage song to his haters full of sexual doubles. D Boy = the obvious meaning and also he is from Daegu. Tongue Technology = the obvious meaning and also his rap. That his Tongue Technology will "Turn You On" = this is not an accurate translation. What he says is "Take you to Hong Kong." Listen closely and you can hear him say Hong Kong. It is a S Korean euphemism for making you climax/orgasm. STD = His haters will get turned on by him and then catch him like a disease they cannot shake. He is the sexually transmitted disease that they can't help but be seduced by.

Gatha Naranath

the 2024 drunk driving scooter wasnt actually true lol. He had 1 light beer and drove home on an electric scooter which for some reason u need a license to drive in South korea. Where i live i see 13 year olds driving that around with 2 people behind them lol. The korean media belittled him and trashed him for an entire week and even spread false narratives about how much he drank or what kinda vehicle he actually drove. A week later the police finally dropped the truth after an unecessary investigation that says he in fact wasn't drunk. Sure his alcohol level was higher than allowed, but he wasnt drunk. He fell of the scooter cause he made an awfully sharp turn. The maximum alcohol content in his body was super low even a little bit is enough to take their license according to law however. It wasn't a big deal but it was the first time in years the south korean media had found a little bit of dirt on bts and decided to milk that dry for the entire week. Eventually a few media stations apologized for the false news even tho they totally did it on purpose. Anyway the scooter incident Suga is talking about in his song is before their debut so before 2013 so its not this one. He was a delivery driver because their company was running out of money so he offered to work part time to help. He had a bad accident which hurt his shoulder badly and he sang, danced and performed for like 8 years with that shoulder until 2021 or something he finally decided to go on a small hiatus and have surgery for it. So he suffered for years with that injury u can see in a few performances earlier he had a hard time moving the shoulder.

Gatha Naranath

Suga definetly had a lot of built up anger when performing as Agust D, he explained that in a post and some interviews. And making music was the way to cope with that. But he also said not too long ago that he's unsure if he'll come back as Agust d or not. And that it was an alter ego, because he has mellowed down quite a lot over the years. He has forgiven the people and the things hes been so angry about. But idk maybe he has some anger towards the korean media considering they almost ruined his life in 2024 maybe we'll see a song about that in the future lol. Either way he did say he was thinking of ways to wrap up the "Agust D" alter ego and maybe just go by Suga from now on. Since that anger has largely subsided he's become calmer and older and maybe wiser. Maybe we'll see agust d again or maybe he will just make solo songs by the name suga who knows.

KMD💜

Yoongi is on another level , the most impressive thing is the fact that he does everything from Writing to composing and producing for all of his solo songs. He is an all rounder . You guys should watch BTS Cyphers from the rapline , they are great

Alisse Rhodes

Fr omg like why can't these kpoppies put this behind them and I get why yoongi hates the kmedia so much like they just twist everything

Alisse Rhodes

Same like omg they blew it way out of proportion i also felt the same way at first like suga could not have done this 💀 and its just him falling off his scooter probably because he was going so slow

Alisse Rhodes

He was on a electric scooter a bit drunk at 5mph and stumbled when he tried to stop. KMedia took it and people were trying to cancel him for this like I was so shocked. They had to be joking 🙄 it was also somewhere where couldn't hit someone and he was going so slow, that's probs the reason he fell off his scooter and he didn't even hit anyone

Nanci

There are two, completely unrelated scooter incidents. 1) The more recent, 2024 Scooter incident was a media witch hunt. The media in South Korean HATES BTS and is constantly attacking them. This is because their rivals in the entertainment industry pretty much own the media. He literally was riding a fold up kick scooter with a stem seat. The kind of scooter with less horsepower than a hairdryer, and that you take inside your house with you. He stumbled and fell off it as he was parking it in front of his house - there just happened to be three cops walking by at that exact moment who went to see if he was ok and smelled alcohol on him. He was already on his feet, unharmed, when they were still approaching him. If three police walking by had not literally seen him fall over and went up to him, he would have just gone into his house, and no one would have known a thing about it. He was parked in front of his own door and had been riding just a short way from a restaurant in his neighborhood to his home, on the sidewalk in the designated path for such scooters, and did not know it was not allowed while drinking as it previously had been but had recently changed. The laws on such small scooters are so confusing and constantly changing in S Korea that even the SK Minister of Transportation at the time could not answer correctly whether any laws were broken. No one was hurt, not even him and no property was damaged, not even his scooter. Yes, the discourse on his incident was so aggressive, wild and overblown that it reached the National Assembly (SK Congress) in debate. The media went bananas with literally more than 200,000 malicious articles (not joking) dragging him and exaggerating what happened and making him out to be a drunk and a criminal. The incident happened while he was doing his military service and after Amygdala was released. He was doing Civil Service, because of his shoulder, which was essentially a 9-5 schedule with evenings and weekends off and living in his own home, like a regular job. There is CCTV video of this incident if you want to see what a literal nothingburger it was. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/5aHEMwiktus 2) The accident referenced in the Amygdala MV happened many years ago when he was still a trainee in about 2012, before they debuted, and he was riding a very different type of scooter which was basically like a motorcycle, moonlighting doing food delivery before school because he was broke and needed the money. The accident in the MV is like the PG version. It was actually in the dark of predawn and it was pouring rain and he was struck by a delivery truck and drug under it. It was definitely a near death trauma for him. He could not completely hide his injuries, but he was afraid to tell the company he had been moonlighting against his contract. So he lied and said he fell down some stairs and he downplayed his injuries. He never got appropriate treatment for his injuries at the time and spent many years in a great deal of pain and hiding it. He didn't even tell his BTS brothers until years later when they were on tour. We actually have that moment on video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLnajeR1N5U Notice how their faces fall, how they remember that he stopped b-boying/break dancing for fun with j-hope and working out at that time. RM notes that he finally understands what some lyrics in one of Suga's songs meant. At that point he would have been hiding it from them for about 5 or 6 years. It would be another few years after this before he would finally get surgery to repair his shoulder in 2020. By then he could no longer lift a cup or water bottle with his left arm and often had to get injections in his shoulder and take painkillers before and during performances. Yes, he has a history of depression, anxiety, OCD, self-harm and suicidal ideation, though we don't know if there were ever any actual attempts. He was a very unhappy kid/young adult. Some of the medication in the Amygdala MV might have been for those things, not just pain meds for his shoulder. He has done a lot of work, a good deal of it openly in his music, and is in a much better place now. He has always talked openly about all of it and has become a known support person that other people in his industry go to when they need support in their own struggles. He even wrote a song telling them to come to him for support. He is now a trained counselor (one of his lifelong dreams) because that was his job in the military.

Some recommandations for solo Rm: Wild flower, Come back to me, Lost and Stop the rain Ft Tablo, its an amazing song and one my favorite of his after Wilder Flower and Hectic Jin: The astronaut is a must for Jin, Don’t Say you love me, Running Wild, I’ll Be There J-Hope: Mona Lisa, Killing it girl, Sweet dreams, In the street ft J.Cole, Arson Jimin: Like Crazy, Who , Set me free pt2 , Smeraldo Garden ft Loco, it has such a nice vibe from our cutie and lovely Jimin V: the first song of V I recommend to anyone is Singularity, it’s a BTS song performed by V Love me again, Slow Dancing , Fri(end)s , Winter Ahead or you could also Watch his Festa live performance for the Layover album

Ralitsa Jeleva

Great recommendations. I think they should add and some songs that show also the different side of the boys: RM - Joke, Groin. Jin - Epiphany, Astronaut. J-Hope - More, Arson. Jimin - Serendipity, Lie. V - Fri(end)s, Singularity and Stigma.

definitely agree with Carter saying yoongi represents one side of bts because in a lot of their songs the boys are quite aggressive and critical of society, the system and just people in general, and im excited for you to learn that with time (baepsae or silver spoon is one example). and what makes him my favorite rapper is how honest he is with his lyrics always

THIS IS A JUMP, BUT CAN WE MAKE THEM LISTEN TO RM AND SUGA "STRANGE"?? I FEEL LIKE THEY'LL BE BLOWN AWAY BY THE LYRICS

Elmo

Everything was definitely blown out of proportion. But let’s not tell fibs. He was above the blood alcohol level. And was clearly inebriated by the video. But he didn’t realize that the type of scooter he was riding was considered a vehicle, and not pedestrian transportation (there was even confusion amongst authorities). And he most likely chose that method to get home thinking it was a safe annd legal alternative.

Elmo

Just for context, the typical question that is asked is “have you ever harmed or thought about harming yourself, or others”. A doctor wouldn’t straight up ask have you ever attempted suicide because they would know that as part of their medical history. It is highly unlikely he did, if this was in reference to the period of time that he was a trainee. If he had done something like that, he would not have debuted with BTS and would have been referred to intense counseling and hospitalization/committed.

maysiow

yoongi prolly not going to continue as agust d tho

mina

the line "that time i tried to sleep on bathroom floor, has now become a memory" kind of led me to thinking that. bcs i relate. anyway, i see now that might've been too extreme of thinking. that line maybe refers to his panic attacks actually. i'll edit the comment

Pluto

❤️

jemmy

No that is false. The media only speculated on it but they never had evidence of his blood alcohol level because they never tested him. Because the police themselves let him go because it was that nothingburger. If he was truly that intoxicated, he wouldn't be able to ride a scooter in the first place.

bella⁷

that says everythinggg about him as a performer :,) i was lucky enough to be in the pit during his sf show so i got to see him up close and personal!! it was incredible

Stars

you guys should definitely check out the Road to D-day documentary which is his solo docu. You'll gain some really cool insights into suga as a person, producer and performer!!

Kookie

A better way to do these is to watch the lyric video and then the mv. Also, if you want a song where he talks more about his struggles and how he was once suicidal check out The Last by August D. It’s soooo good!! Also, the scooter incident isn’t the one in the video he had an actual accident before debute and he never told anyone because he was worried that they won’t keep him in the group/company.

lemon

What bothers me most is that suga had to reveal his home address by releasing CCTV footage of what really happened because the Korean media aired a fake CCTV report about him and didn't properly apologize for fabricating and lying in his name. They simply said, “oops, we were wrong It wasn't him sorry guys 😜” after they subjected him to death threats (they literally sent him funeral wreath), and now suga has left his home and living with his parents because of what happened. huge mess

Alisse Rhodes

I know he has every right to hate the media because they knew that wasn't yoongi and just wanted to stir drama at the expense of yoongi not feeling safe staying there anymore

ria

I personally couldn’t care less about little man on a scooter😭

Gatha Naranath

That’s what I said tho- that the media lied about several things such as what vehicle he drove, his alcohol level and even the CCTV footage was fake

To be clear, Korean media has NEVER liked BTS - they’ve been trying to shove them out since their debut. There are a lot of arguments to be made about how Korean entertainment companies and Korean media are basically run by the same people, but their vitriol towards BTS’s success (specifically the fact that their success came not just independently, but In Spite of the obstacles purposely thrown in their path) is not new in the slightest. Even with that in mind, BTS has done things to promote their new releases with media in the past. That’s changed with ARIRANG. I personally think the exaggerated hate train towards Yoongi is the cause - BTS have always said that they were able to come this far because they were seven, and that includes dealing with hate/negative media play. To see one member have to receive a national smear campaign by himself ? BTS were NEVER going to be ok with that. I support their decision 100%, too- it’s weird that the Kpop industry can’t acknowledge just how much they owe to BTS.

you guys seem affected by Agust D songs) for me personally he is the most honest and direct about his struggles and opportunities compared to other members. his songs make you reflect on your own inner turmoils and also ground BTS in your eyes (at least for me). loved the reaction!

Amygdala has lower views because it's age restricted and also due to the fact that ARMYs can't handle the heartbreak of watching that video so we avoid it like the plague. Yoongi has been through so much since he was young. In 2014 he openly talked about struggling with depression and dark thoughts and has been very vocal in his songs about mental health issues and awareness. To us this comeback is really special for obvious reasons but also because Yoongi looks the happiest he's ever been. He mentioned it himself that now he's more relaxed and doesn't have any negative feelings left about his past. The reason so many people think Yoongi is reserved or cold in past videos is of course due to his introverted personality but also because he was going through such a hard time personally and career wise. Yoongi is my first and ultimate bias of BTS and his raw and deep lyrics are what touched me the most when I found BTS in 2017 and was also suffering from depression and anxiety attacks. 9 years later not only did we grow old together but it feels like we healed as well on this journey. 🥹💜

Miaka Yuki

IU and suga collab reaction please! Watch IU pallet interview💜

daegukittens

The accident mentioned in Amygdala is the one Jack mentioned in 2012. He was a trainee working part time as a delivery driver and he had a big accident injuring his shoulder but he hid that from the company and the members because he was scared they would kick him out. He would have injections and pain relief patches to ease the pain throughout the years but after it got extremely bad he finally had a surgery and now is doing better. 🥹 The scooter accident was an INCREDIBLY stupid smear campaign. The media were trying to create a big scandal about BTS because they're chill and unproblematic and they were berating Yoongi, treating him like a criminal while at the same time idols that actually committed rape or were responsible for sex trafficking and drugging women got such little outrage in comparison. It was truly ridiculous because the scooter "accident" was basically Yoongi just stumbling from his scooter. No-one was harmed and he was going slower than people walking. ANWWWW! thanks again guys. 🫡💜

You guys should also check out all of the Cyphers, 1-4. It does a great job at showing off each of the rap lines different flows and styles. And then the live cypher medley performance that brings the energy, another time. As for RM, I would suggest reacting to Flowerwork, Groin, and an older song to watch first before the more recent ones, just to show a comparison of his sound and evolution back then and now. It’s funny hearing you guys say you can’t picture the other members making songs like this haha. You’re right in the sense that this is very much Suga’s style specifically, but the entire rapline can absolutely go there when they want to. RM just usually is more poetic/thoughtful, while J-Hope has a more swagger-heavy style, so it comes out differently for each of them. If you ever wanna see that more aggressive rapline side though, BTS actually has diss tracks 😅 Definitely check out the Cyphers 1-4 (especially 2, 3, and 4) with lyric videos. Cypher 1 is a little older sounding since it was early BTS, but the later ones are insane and show how hard all three of them can go.

Hey Gatha, my response was for Elmo.

Elmo

OK, but let’s be real one light beer is not gonna put you over the legal limit. They wouldn’t have been able to take his license away if he wasn’t over the legal limit. So just because they didn’t release the blood alcohol results to us doesn’t really mean anything. The way they treated him was bs but it doesn’t mean we can rewrite history or make up facts. That doesn’t do anything to make us as fans, or Yoongi, look any better.

I hope next you can react to the SUGA | Agust D D-DAY Tour concert! You guys will be mind-blown by how amazing the concert is. Trust me....you’ll never regret watching anything from any BTS member. 💜😍

Ava

Yall gotta check out joke by RM, great diss track

cuesegue .

This is going to be lengthy, so I’ll apologize now. AugstD is Suga’s other persona which started at his track titled AgustD which you just reacted to from his mix tape (the whole thing is awesome btw). In Amygdala, we see how AgustD was created as a persona Suga/Min Yoongi could use to express his anger, pain, frustration with the many things that affects his real life. His mom’s heart, the accident he had during his trainee days (while he worked a job delivering food) that he couldn’t tell anyone about because he feared he would be cut from the team, and his dad’s liver cancer. On top of that he was training for BTS 12-16 hours a day, dealing with depression, anxiety, prejudice and hatred. AgustD was also a means to shield himself and shutting out the pain. The visuals in Amygdala represent his constant replaying of these traumatic events and his desire to get away from these memories. The amygdala is a small almond shaped part of the brain we use to process fear, anger, sadness, and other stressful emotions and it actually supports the memories associated with these negative emotions. So he gives himself the scar but I’m not certain whether he scars himself because he’s trying to escape the pain or if he’s trying to escape the memories in his mind’s eye (which would explain where he created the scar). In Daechwita, while both the king and Suga have the scar, you can see the Kings scar is more healed than Suga’s scar. Basically the king has been going through it for a while to the point he’s gone mad and is just beheading people left and right whereas Suga is still trying to get straight and is fighting for the people which is why the butcher helps him kill the king and at the end you see all of the king’s servants bopping to Suga’s rap chorus. In Haegeum, The Suga from Daechwita is now a lieutenant with the police but he’s a dirty cop, the scar is there, but it’s healed even more (indicating he’s healing from his past traumas and memories). Suga, who has no scar, is once again on the side of the people as he robs the cops illegal drug manufacturing operation, not to make money, but to stop the corruption (which is why he sets the cash on fire). Once again, the guy on the phone (who’s calling the lieutenant) where Suga’s gang is busting it up is working for Suga. At the end where Suga shoots the dirty cop, the guys and the cops are backing him. Then at the very end, when he’s getting ready to take a bite of his food he looks up and his hair falls onto his face along the same line as the scar which indicates the cycle of AgustD may or may not repeat itself. This is why Suga himself said he didn’t want to say AgustD was done because he wasn’t sure whether he would come back or not. Although he seems pretty darn happy nowadays lol! Keep in mind, a lot of this is just my opinion or theory, however everything I mentioned about what Suga went through is absolutely true. All seven of the members have gone through some awful things and I’m sure there are many things we don’t know about. The more you learn about BTS through MV’s, lyrics, interviews, and Armies, the more you’ll realize just how remarkable they are.

i love yoongi so much and i need y'all to react to "seesaw" one day. it's a completely different vibe to these bangers and yet it fights for the number one spot for me when it comes to his solo stuff (it's technically part of a bts album where all the members had solo songs). also, you guys have so much of bts' discography yet to uncover, so i don't blame cannon for not having anything to compare to when it comes agust d. keep going, you'll see flavours of his work all over their songs/music videos/eras.

saida

amygdala physically hurts me man

saida

we all do when it comes to agust d 😭😭😭😭

gm ‘777

to answer Carter’s question, if I’m not mistaken agustd has HINTED at self harm and suicidal thoughts in previous solo work. in my opinion I think he’s the most raw when it comes to his writing and he isn’t scared of showing it. loved the reaction!

hazard

i would react to the members solo albums ngl like the mvs are good but their full albums are differentttt i would suggest either mono or rpwp for RM, agust d (the album) for suga, and hope world for jhope. they come with some music videos so i think you could do both and right person wrong place is a visual album so you could react to the mvs as well

Nikita

Yeah lol I love RUN BTS Yoongi. It's like you never know which version you're gonna get. Sometimes he's hyper and funny sometimes he's mellow and still funny 😂

tien

Wait till you react to JHOPE's Jack in The Box

Ariane Guimarães

My favourite Agust D song is called Snooze, actually all his D-Day album is so good

Elmo

Oh for sure. The bathroom seemed to be the place to go and have a mental breakdown in those days. I remember even Jimin talking about in Suchwita how he would cry in the bathrooms, then get back right back on stage, then go back to crying in the bathrooms. I mean, none of us obviously knows all that he's been through. And we know Yoongi can keep a secret (Hello...we just found out where Suga really came from lol). But just going by the fact that the Last is referencing his time at BigHit, it doesn't seem feasible that he would be able to continue on preparing for a debut, with 10s of hours of dancing and writing songs etc...while dealing with the amount of trauma and treatment required to deal with a suicide attempt. That's the only reason I'm 95% sure it wasn't that. But that doesn't mean he didn't mention to someone he thought about it, and that or something like that, is probably what prompted him and his parents to seek therapy...so it didn't become an attempt. I'm so happy and proud of where he his now, and I know the guys have a lot to do with the good place he's in right now.

Claire

You should react to IU and Suga interview

mina

i cant wait for todayy

Purplekitchie

Jhope next please: Killing it Girl, Arson, Mona lisa, More

Elle

Yes and hopefully the live video of Nuts <3333

Tou

Watching Amygdala again makes my heart feel so heavy, I still can't get over his emotional performance during his tour 💔

jaemland

would love to see you react to the all cyphers!

jaemland

so when are you finally reacting to IU?

Ejlal Ahmed

I don't think anyone in BTS goes as deep as Yoongi not to say that they don't because they all do but just not as deep as Yoongi. He's raw he gives you everything from deep within. I think the next person that would kinda be almost similar is RM

Hanah

why is the caption in Danish tho? 💀

Joe Jonas

V - #1 Winter Ahead and #2 Singularity is a must. #3 Tiny Desk Korea Live Medley for his Layover EP songs

Joe Jonas

Don’t forget WINTER AHEAD. For Slow Dancing and Love Me Again, if they watch the Tiny Desk live, hope it’s considered as just 1 video.

Joe Jonas

Yes! For Love Me Again and Slow Dancing, the Tiny Desk LIVE performance would be amazing as intro since we don’t know when they’ll do solo reactions again

Divina Izzard

Jin and Jungkook was in Suga's music video "Daechwita". They were the ones fighting when Suga bumps into Jin with a beard.

Kn Kn

first time on patreon , myy biasss

Eveliina

React explanation video Daechwita and behind the scenes💜

LexandraJo

Yoongi always stood out to me when I first got into BTS, cause I felt like I could relate to his personality, but then when I delved deeper into his solo stuff he instantly became my bias 🖤 I love all the boys, but Yoongi really connects to my soul, and I truly understand his feelings as someone who struggles mentally and with past trauma. He's honestly such an amazing person 🖤

SIM_X💜

This is really good recommendation for each member🫶🏻but arson for j hope for sure

Kn Kn

if you want to do a reaction on RM's solo i highly recommend these songs : joke , monster , do you . top 3

R.Az

He is called Koreas Eminem for a reason. I’ve been a Kpop Stan for a long time and I know most groups/idols and until this day I’ve never seen a better rapper then suga. He is the greatest Korean rapper. His flow, delivery, lyricism is all amazing

R.Az

Yoongi struggled alot with mental health, he went through so much and he used agust d to deliver those messages, so that’s why him as suga and agust d are so different. Suga is who he is with bts, agust d is who he is as a solo artist and delivers messages. So the door you see in the amygdala video is the door that his other self couldn’t get pass through and save the broken agust d, but in his solo tour he finally passed through the door showing his fans that he is finally healed now. And he recently said that agust d is in the past and that he probably won’t come back because he is healed now 🥹

R.Az

suga was MAD in 2016, LIKE ANGRY ANGRY. He was ruthless and showed no mercy in his songs towards haters. Bc bts went through so much during their earlier days being mocked, looked down on and just not accepted. So suga was like really angry and that’s why his song ”agust d” is the most brutal and aggressive one. Suga himself said he was very angry before but that he has forgiven those people and haters that looked down on him and bts

R.Az

Exactly!

R.Az

Killin it girl is a must

Margi

Yoongi went trough so much :( I hope you watch his solo documentary one day, he's just such a sweet person

Margi

So, in 2012 he was injured in an accident while working as a delivery driver and never got proper treatment because he was afraid to tell the people around him that he'd got hurt, mainly because he was scared that he'd be cut off the group. He finally got shoulder surgery in 2020 because he could barely lift his arm. The incident in 2024 was completely taken out of proportion, he was riding an electric scooter at a ridiculously slow pace on the side of the road and he just tripped, like when you see the cctv of it you realize how ridiculous it is that it got so out of proportion Anyway, in the Amygdala MV he's talking about the accident that happened in 2012 amongst other things, and no he didn't take drugs, they were painkillers since he didn't get proper treatment 💜

Aparna

Suga does have history of self harm, along with depression, but the pills you see in the video are anti-depressants and painkillers (from his shoulder injury before BTS debuted) The Amygdala MV always gets me, it is his mind. Its such a great visual representation of how much mental health fucks you over. The crawling to the door, the inching of progress, the tilting, the slide back down, then it rains, you try again, get screwed in the process. It's just so well shown.

Crystalsnow Jin

Hello. If you guys can check out when you can The Last by Agust D, Interlude: Shadow by Suga, and Tony Montana live performance Suga ft. Jimin. Hope you guys have a great day! Cheers! 💜

Limini

no nevermind :(

thisthisthat

Oh I can't wait for you guys to check out his and IU's collabs

Nanci

Watching Amygdala "Oh, he's grown up a little bit." When it's off the same album as Haegeum. lol They are just diverse guys.

Nanci

Yes, he has a history of self-harm, OCD, Depression and Social Anxiety, and he sings a lot about his mental health struggles in his work, which is like his therapy that helps him process things. The scar represents his traumas. Amygdala is like an origin story for the hurt soul we see him working to conquer in Daechwita and Haegeum. He has slowly been healing his traumas over the years which is why the scar fades from the Mad King to the peasant Agust D in Daechwita, to the Detective to finally the Rogue character in Haegeum who has no scar. He has been healing. His music has helped countless people conquer their own traumas, scars and pain. RM, j-hope and Jimin tackle some of this type of dark subject matter, pain, fears, flaws, etc. in their own work too, in their own way.

Nanci

2012 = The accident referenced in the Amygdala MV (but shown in a sanitized PG kind of way.) Near Death experience riding a motorcycle style scooter as a delivery driver, in the pouring rain and dark of predawn. He was struck by a delivery truck and dragged under it, crushing and shattering his shoulder and causing other injuries which led to life changing pain that still impacts him today. He finally got reconstructive surgery on his shoulder in 2020, and he served alternative civil service for his military duty due to his shoulder. No charges filed for the accident, which was just an accident. No alcohol involved. 2024 = During his military service period, while on his time off, he was gliding at walking speed on a designated sidewalk path on a tiny, fold up electric kick scooter with a peg seat and the horsepower of a hairdryer, coming back from dinner in his own neighborhood. As he parked in front of his own door, he took the corner too sharply as he parked and he stumbled and fell. No one was hurt, including him. He immediately got up again. But he fell in front of 3 passing cops who rushed over, smelled alcohol on him and made it a big deal. He had no idea it was illegal to ride such a scooter while under the influence, and the constantly shifting laws around such kickboard low horsepower scooters in South Korea meant the SK National Transportation Minister at the time could not even answer correctly about whether it was legal or not. The media made a HUGE deal of it, with LITERALLY more than 200,000 articles inflating the issue, calling it a "Drunk Driving Crash," lying about what happened, and condemning him. Haters called for his expulsion from BTS. It was a hard time for BTS and ARMY and especially for him. Over nothing. Over stumbling while parking a tiny fold up scooter. There is CCTV of it online if you want to see for yourself. He was interrogated, charged, fined a large amount, forced to apologize to the press publicly, and the media cycle eventually moved on.
