So excited for this!

cina

yes please, this is kinda the standard of bts reactor :')

Anya

Ty geks and fyi some chapters provide some context for albums and songs/mv Chapter 2: 2 cool 4 skool album and 'we are bulletproof pt.2' and 'no more dream' tracks. (album is short so hopefully we can do album review first) Chapter 3: O!RUL8,2? album and 'N.O' and 'The Rise of Bangtan' (attack on bangtan) tracks. I personally think knowing the songs beforehand is better because they reflect on their experience during that time of creation. I understand doing a whole album before each chapter is unrealistic (especially if this is to be a weekly drop) so if yall want to be in sync with their journey we can list the songs ahead of time. There's no right or wrong way it's ultimately up to how yall want to experience the order just wanted to make sure yall are informed.

Anya

Pls 2 cool 4 skool album review before chapter 2 next week 🙏

Anya

Seeing all the girlies can't wait for girl groups on this channel 💕

Tou

Thank you guys, there are bonus and deleted scenes for ROB, hopefully you can watch them as well with each of their corresponding ep, they have important cuts as well!💜 Also commenting this again! But i was thinking BTS did many beautiful interviews recently while promoting Arirang, and i REALLY think you will enjoy watching especially their Korean ones. I found this playlist of most of them for you if you like to check, it'd be so much fun AND i think you will get to see more sides of their personalities ☺️ https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_Y0b8ikDoLnIU-jUMkbqA5479w-Pik8W&si=-hfj0YhKxjtwPMrg And a special recommendation which i think you will love as well is V on Dingo Story where he meets an army, it's wholesome truly 💜 https://youtu.be/Ec0tKX99gbA?si=qPJNWUgcaB0KDClo

corLeonis

Hope you check out the Burn the Stage..

Alisse Rhodes

Really random but I was born on January 7th 2008, exactly 5 years before that RM log 🤣

Alisse Rhodes

Cannon woke up as soon as he saw league 😆

Hyeunrby

Literally PLEASEEEE🥺

Anya

"Why have we not seen V yet?" "Where's V at?" Questions everybody asks 😂 Guess yall gotta keep watching!

Hyeunrby

YES It’s time for the debut album!

chloe ⁷

i was just wondering how the uploads are going to work for this? 😛😛

mina

noo, please watch the videos until the end😔🙏 it's not even a real preview.. more like an outro to the epsiode with silly clips of them😂

leen

OMGGG YESS ITS HEREE

alie

V was a secret member, he was there the whole time their doing daily logs. He was just hiding. Company made him revealed last so other companies wouldnt pitch him

mina

but they will get spoiled. they need to catch up with an album before they watch each episode🥲

Emrataaa

LETS GOOOOOOO

mina

29:14 tbh parents rarely encourage their kids to try out in kpop industry. the succes is rare. very few groups actually make it.

Kelly Melvin

Aww Jimin speaking about each of the members was so wholesome. Probably my favorite moment of the episode.

mina

this fanmade series was actually never finished. the creator took down this project a few years ago. common theory we all believe is that bighit probably contacted them so they stopped making it and deleted it, but fortunately some army recovered it and re-uploaded it on yt!!

Alisse Rhodes

I'm ngl your the first reactors who clocked that V isn't in this episode

Kelly Melvin

V was not the last member to join. Jimin was last to join. V was a hidden member and the last to be known by fans. Also don’t skip the end credits after each chapter. You can also watch the previews after each chapter. They really don’t spoil anything

Anya

Yall stopped the video too soon 😭

Britt⁷

When they say age, it’s Korean age. RM was actually 18 here

Tivy

DNA was definitely the song to really launch their career beyond “just k-pop”, as it was their first song to hit the Billboard Hot 100

Alisse Rhodes

The worst thing about this video is when it ends 🥲

Alisse Rhodes

This was such a nice surprise 😝

nelle

i think they're ARMY already lol they already have biases and stuff

nelle

V never left! You'll see more in the next episode but he was always around, just hidden visually

mina

btw they were speaking in korean age, so this is how old they actually were😭 jin: 20 suga: 19 j-hope: 18 rm: 18 jimin: 17 v: 17 jungkook: 15 (hence it makes sense he graduated middle school)

J_Y_O_T_I

Please continue this "Rise of Bangthan" everyweek please

J_Y_O_T_I

Please watch BTS ARIRANG CONCERT in Busan day 2

jonabee

please watch until the end! there are extra clips shown after the preview

nelle

One thing to remember about this docuseries is that up until 2023, Koreans had a different age system that considered you 1 year old at birth and 1 year older at the start of the new year- NOT at your birthday. This meant all koreans were automatically 2 years old by the end of their birth year. So anytime the boys say their age, they're actually 2 years younger. So when Jungkook said he was 16 he was actually only 14yo, when Jimin said he was 18 he was actually 16yo, etc. This is why JK cares so much about the members cause they GENUINELY raised him! Their synergy was always amazing from the start

alizah 🌸

Stray kids just released an mv and i hope u guys react to it soon 🥹🥹

Kelsey

Am I the only one who gets upset when people don't watch all the through and turn it off when the 'Next Time' starts?

Elmo

Next time could you let the preview and bonus clips at the end play? They don't really spoil anything and gives just enough to keep you hanging for the next episode.

I’m Maya

Watch more plssss and every episode has a material at the end plss watch till the end

Elmo

No, it's irritating every time lol. I know people don't want to be spoiled, but ROB doesn't really spoil. And it's not like a drama where there's a storyline that can be spoiled. Plus they miss out on the bonus clips.

Elmo

I was so proud of them!!

Eri

He’s in the next episode!

nelle

All the members have present and supportive families, all their families also went to their ARIRANG concert in Korea and sat together. All the members have siblings as well but all of them are very private except for J-hope's sister who's a youtuber and has her own content creation business. Their families get along really well and will usually just hang out without them like Jhope's sister posted herself hanging out with RM's sister a few days after the ARIRANG concert lol. Theres a bunch of compilations on youtube of the member's and their families moments, that would be fun for yall to react to!

Eri

I WAS SO EXCITED FOR THIS! Please continue this documentary it’s so good. There are bonus scenes and deleted scenes videos with each episode btw.

nelle

even yoongi's parents were against him pursuing an idol career at first

deesi

remember to take 2 years away from their age! koreans count their age differently so for example when RM said he was 20, he was actually 18

Elmo

Yeah, that's why there aren't as many views. I don't think BH contacted her bc it wouldn't have been able to be uploaded. If I recall correctly there was just something personal the creator was going through regarding BTS' official documentaries that were starting to come out around the time of the end of the series. Maybe she thought it was pointless to put in so much work since they were starting to release their own similar official content. I think it took some steam out of her motivation to continue the series, along with life/school stuff and I think she in a moment of impulsivity decided to scrap it and remove it, but was persuaded to bring it back, but no longer working on it.

Hyeunrby

I love listening to RM’s deep insights

Bashayer ⟡⁷ ⟭⟬

💡 Fun fact: When BTS (or other Koreans) mention their age in Korean content, they’re often using the Korean age system, not their international age. So their actual age is usually 1–2 years younger than the number they say. Under the old Korean age system, babies were considered 1 year old at birth, and everyone became a year older on January 1st, not on their birthday. For example, if a baby was born on December 20, they would already be 1 year old at birth, and just 12 days later, on January 1, they would be considered 2 years old, even though they weren’t even a month old yet. Since 2023, South Korea has officially adopted the international age system for legal purposes. However, many Koreans still use Korean age in everyday conversation because it’s what they’re used to. So in this video, the ages BTS mention are Korean ages, meaning their actual (international) ages are younger than the numbers they say. In interviews outside Korea, they may sometimes use their international ages instead, and you might even hear them remind each other to use their international age to avoid confusing international audiences.

jemmy

Dont know how i feel about this yet but I'm excited

Aaliyah Contreras

tae wasn’t there yet because he was a hidden member since they didn’t want other companies to steal him haha he mentioned this in a recent interview :) they don’t explain it that well in his vlog in the next episode

I’m Maya

Can u react to stray kids new comeback song „run it” It’s came out today

Elmo

IMO BTS is unique in the sense that I don't think any of them had stage parents that pushed them. In fact for most it was the opposite and they had to convince, even fight with their parents to audition. They each were passionate and hardworking individuals WITHOUT a hand forcing them, and I think that's what BangPD was looking for. You can make training available to anyone, and some one can have natural talent, but independent motivation is something intrinsic and there's a trust in people like that, that if given the challenge, the resources, and the opportunity, they will make something out of it. Jin went in with no dancing or singing background, but as the other guys admitted, he was one of the hardest-working ones, practicing in his room until morning. That's why they are where they are, and why they still work hard even if they could easily coast. It's just intrinsic and woven into their being. And they're all like that.

Menma

there are video compilations with the members' families. i can't completely recall but maybe in this rise of bangtan series too

mina

sure they mention them here and there, but they keep things really private.

VictoriaKyuu

who so obviously copied you guys? Drop the tea! ☕️ ☕️

TiTi Go

I noticed the same thing as Carter with the youtube reaction channels cause I remember when you guys were anime noobies an AOT was in its final season

lemon

The entire bts family is not active on social media except for jhope's sister( I think she's a stylist or something) But they're all very close; they even attend their solo concerts and everyone knows that suga's family wasn't supportive of him at first, but now they attend any event he attends, whether as a solo artist or with bts

S Moonchild⁷

You will finally understand why we love them! BTS is the most well documented underdog story. They recorded videos, did lives just because they had fun with fans. There could be 100 people in the beginning or even less, but they still did put videos out there and now they have a legacy. TBH I think they still don't realize how big they are, too humble. They were shocked that people came to see them in Mexico. Quote "Oh we thought there is a festival nearby, that's why there are so many people." There were boy groups before BTS, there were good lyrics self-producing groups like Seo Taji, There were underdogs, there were talented people. But BTS is the first self-producing talented boy group who are literally textbook definition of underdogs (literally poor start), who filmed all their lives and posted online, engaged with fans and did good music with top-notch professionalism and stayed same humble young men for more than 13 years of their career. They had least amount of opportunities, they were hungry for recognition and had most amount of people try to break their wheels. They survived by being themselves and with the help of the fans who saw them. They are private about their families, as their families didn't choose a path of celebrity. You might see Jhope's sister online, as she has active instagram page. And maybe hear Jungkook's brother's voice during some of his recent lives, Jimin's dad has a cafe which is very visited by fans. There are photos online, some people see them during concerts. From what is known, only Suga's parents opposed this career first few years maybe. Overall people try not to be nosey about their families as it is basic manners adopted by Army.

Nikita

LMAOO I knew you guys would comment on the views. The original upload by the creator was removed at some point and then she reuploaded it that's why the views are low and it says 3 years ago. It was made earlier than that.

tangerine⁷

Yes please watch till the end. Its not like a spoiler or anything. The more the ep goes on the outros are hilarious

Jo

Yeah they don't really show their families much ( although there are vids out there, like when jk was out eating with his brother, Jhope with his sister, etc), but there is a compilation of their run episodes when they would call and interact with their parents. V and jk once called their moms on a Run Ep to guess a song for a challenge that they were doing. You guys should totally check it out if you have time😊😊

Jo

Please watch till the endddd 😩😭

Nanami's Wife

Before you guys continue on with "Rise of Bangtan" I really recommended listening to their first 2 albums together: "2 cool 4 skool" and "O!RUL8,2?". The 2 albums combine equals to 11 songs and you already heard a few of the songs from "2 cool 4 skool". You will be spoiled of the songs in the upcoming episodes, so I believe it would be a better experience for you guys to know what type of music or direction they were going for in the beginning💜

bowie is tired

Please don’t skip the ending guys!! The end of these chapters don’t spoil much and include bonus clips, they also include a small snippet of a song at the very end of the videos after all the bonus clips in case that’s what you’re worried abt 👍

RA

The scene with Jennie comes from the documentary blackpink : Light up the sky on Netflix I really hope that one day you will watch it!!

Ana

For the most part they keep their families private. Jhope sister is her own little celebrity. All the members family are super close to each other. They even go on trips together. And Jimin’s dad is huge in the community he has a cafe that many army can visit. He even interacts giving army food and snack. He super supportive of Jimin. Jimin is really an angel because his dad is also so bright and nice like him. So if you guys ever go to South Korea stop at Jimin’s dad cafe. Love this reaction need so much more. 😩😩

Swapna

You can watch the credits, it doesn't necessarily spoil anything and there are some good behind the scenes moments in there. Also there are 21 episodes, and deleted & bonus content from episode 4 or 5 making it a total of 37.

Nanami's Wife

Thank you for specifying! When I heard them say they were 20/21, I was so confused. I was like "sir, you guys were 18/19😭" And Jungkook was 14 when they recruited him, just finishing middle school which is crazy

Ana

You’re not joking carter I was there since y’all first video and other channels definitely start popping up looking just like y’all and using the same titles lol

faith

during this they were referring to themselves in korean age so keep in mind they were atleast a year younger than they said at this point

Aaliyah Contreras

remember that back then Korean age was different back then so Jungkook debuted when he was 15 in global age. he was 13 when he joined bts

Nanami's Wife

With "O!RUL8,2?" too since they heard some of "2 cool 4 skool". It would be new stuff🤭

Nikita

Nooooooo guys please don't end it when the preview starts. Watch till the end. The previews don't spoil and they have clips that are only in the preview end section for the next ep.

Sokha637

What a amazing surprise..thank you guys 💜💜💜💜

Nikita

The episodes really get better and better, trust. The editing is top tier. The intro changes, the theme of each episode... She really did an amazing job.

bowie is tired

also, yall can pause the video if you like 😭 i don’t want u missing any important details

Gage

jihyo cameo

Nikita

Their families come to their concerts often. The fandom knows and recognizes them but try to keep a distance to give them privacy. Jimin's dad owns a cafe in Busan and fans go to his cafe all the time, especially for BTS special events like anniversary, Jimin's bday etc and bring gifts and fan letters. The cafe has a whole table area for fans to drop off gifts and stuff. He's very open and greets them, talks to them. The terrible part is the psycho fans have the opportunity to have direct contact with Jimin's family and Jimin is one of the members of the group that receives the most hate so last year they were flooding the cafe's instagram page with horrible comments to the point they disabled the comments. Some fans also try to go and actually leave hateful letters/pics etc in person too.

Anya

I wish since it's a short album!

Hyeunrby

I love how all armies are talking about RoB😮‍💨

Sissy Six

yessss. i am a brand new bts fan. found them via the arirang album and went on a deep dive. i really really loved this series. insanely good for a fan made doc. highly recommend watching all the eps.

Ana

Ugh it pmo everytime I think about them. Leaving those comments about Jimin on the page. Mfs is too sick. They’ll never dim Jimin’s light though

Sarah

please do an ep every wee it will really help you to get to know their journey

Iced Macchiato

Please make the monday reactions an album (or song) reaction and Wednesday the Rise of Bangtan reaction. This way, you can react to songs in advance that will be featured in Rise of Bangtan. If you can’t react to the album then I’m sure ARMY can curate a list of songs for you to react to before each episode

Sarah

also please do the deleted or bonus scenes with the episodes cause I feel they are kinda important too

bee

Yes! & this is their ages in 2013 when they debuted. I believe they all started training at Big Hit before that between 2010 & 2012.

Agustina

yesss please!!

bowie is tired

i absolutely understand what yall said at the end and i’ve seen it too, not gonna name names but they EXACTLY copied yalls formula of “anime haters” in the title. And then slowly i watched them move that onto their kpop channel as well lol

Nikita

Btw, that auntie's restaurant still exists and many ARMY go there when they visit Korea and she also interacts with fans.

Marie

He was a hidden member! It was later revealed that he was kept a secret to avoid getting attention from bigger companies and him getting poached.

Agustina

please watch until the end! is okey if u want to pause to talk abou it, so you don't miss anything and i think we don't mind long videos so please keep reacting to The Rise of Bangtan

bee

You'll hear a bit more about their families if y'all keep watching this show & other content like Bon Voyage (their vacation vlogs). I think most of their families were supportive at the start except Suga & RM a bit. They mostly keep family private though (I think for safety). Siblings are mentioned sometimes & stuff like V being raised mostly by his grandparents, etc.

Ashlee

Tyyy for reacting to this series!!! Also pls make sure you guys react to the vid all the way until the end 🙌🏾💜

Divina Izzard

Suga's parents did not support him to become a rapper at first. They wanted him to get a 9 to 5 job but now they are his biggest supporters and have gone to his concerts along with the other members families.

Claudia⁷

The reason the videos don't have many views is because they were reuploaded. The series was not finished/continued because the creator said it was becoming to difficult to continue, they were moving up in their career and just didn't have the time to continue as these episodes take a lot of work to make. All of the clips are pulled from different BTS videos, shows, documentaries etc that they had to scour the internet for, collect them and then create and edit The Rise of Bangtan episodes. The creator took all the episodes down from YouTube because they didn't see the point in leaving them up if the series was incomplete but later were reuploaded by someone else I believe on this current channel.

Geev

Thankyou geks, save it for watch this tonight

Nikita

It's funny cuz I was about to write on Discord to tell them not to do that but I figured they wouldn't. Guess I was wrong 😂

Sissy Six

oh and like other have mentioned there are deleted scene & bonus content videos for most of the episodes.. they are shorter. might be fun to roll them into the end of the episode in one video ❤️

StackingSpaghettiSauce

PLEASE READ THIS FOR ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS: - The series creator made the videos herself but eventually got on the bad side of some toxic Armys and ended up never finishing it. She deleted all the episodes from her channel. What you're watching now are reposts someone took from the Wayback Machine, which is why the upload dates are so recent and the viewcounts so low - Pre-2023 South Korea used a different aging system. Babies were 1 year old at birth and aged up on New Year's. So, depending on when their birthday is, all mentions of BTS' ages are 1-2 years older than they'd be in America. For example, Jungkook said he was 16, but he was really 14. Now they are supposed to use international ages, but old habits die hard so they probably will still say they are 1-2 years older even now - While girl groups do tend to focus on weight a bit more often, I don't think it's useful to compare which demographic has it worse. Both male and female idols are worked extremely hard, put on extreme diets, and are overly sexualized at young ages. It's not a competition - I would maybe refrain from making statements like, "this studio did it right," especially before you've looked into the labels yourselves. Most kpop fans would agree that there is no such thing as an ethical kpop label. In Big Hit's case, two members of the group TXT have spoken about being physically abused during dance practices. So, no, I don't think they were "doing it right." This isn't a criticism of you., you didn't know, but just pointing it out (I'm not saying other labels are better than Big Hit. Please don't turn this into a fan war. Let's not turn this into a "which kpop label is least abusive" argument because the bar is literally hell, so it shouldn't matter) - Jin was the only member attending college (remember to subtract from their ages!). The rest were either between high school and college or switched to a private arts school in Seoul that accommodates idols' schedules - The first place winner did get signed for BTS, but eventually dropped out when they changed the focus of the group to be idol music instead of pure hip hop - You are exactly right. BTS did get accused of copying other groups by their toxic fans, but nowadays toxic Armys will often accuse younger groups of copying BTS. In reality, no one's copying anyone - BTS are fairly(?) private about their families. But they are too famous for their families' identities to not be known anyway. All of them have siblings, but I won't name names. It's pretty case by case whether the parents approve or are involved in their kid's decision to become an idol. In most cases the child is already involved in the arts in some way so idol work is a good way to turn that into a career (like getting cast in a movie or chosen for a ballet troupe. A lot of parents might not like it, but if your kid is super into acting or dance you'd probably want to see if they could turn it into something substantial). From BTS you have both extremes: Jungkook whose parents were so on board they even helped him pick which company to join and Suga whose parents disapproved so much that he started sobbing when he saw them at one of their concerts - Please watch until the end. Even if you talk over the previews (which don't really spoil anything. This is a documentary, guys. You know how it ends) at least watch the clips at the end, which are usually pretty funny. Also each episode has deleted scenes which are serious clips that just messed up the pacing and (except for eps 1 and 2) bonus content which are fun clips from the time period

Tabii🪷

bts did a completely different formula from kpop, i mean they weren’t even a kpop group to begin with they were a hiphop group, that’s why they got popular overseas first before the korean audience could finally fck with them. being a trainee for 3 years in kpop is generally not bad, i think the average is like 5+ yrs some are times for 10+ yrs, v was hidden bc bang pd didn’t want other companies to snatch him, like a “hidden weapon” also a good rules of thumb when it comes to bts content is to always watch till the end

Joycelyn Lorenzo

You literally triggered the “Suga 93” from your ARMY subscribers when you stopped the video too early 🤣 (iykyk). Yes, keep watching until the end, and hopefully you’ll include reactions to the bonus content and deleted scenes videos for each episode in the future!

Tabii🪷

they’re very serious about protecting their personal lives especially when it comes to their families, and in the army fandom we try our best to stay out of it. we only know what they tell us and nth more. ofc some fans are psycho and try to dig more. jin is actually one of the most private bts members we genuinely know nth 😭😭 in my opinion bts’s families are different from other kpop idols, bc ive heard some kpop idols family do some weird stuff which ends up ruining their careers.

Pluto

Please continue the series every week .if you think it’s a long commitment then do 2 episodes together . It’s will not feel long. And love the reactions 💜

Angela González

I love your reactions. Guys, please keep watching Rise of Bangtan, and if you can, please react to Jin's solos next week.

Honey⑦

Noo please watch it till the end. Its not like recap or smth. Complete the video till the end. Also, have patience in this documentary, its not like officially made so ofc it will have its own pace. Mind you its not like the TRUE true representation of BTS. They went thru 1100x more in real but this is the best docu made for them. A lot of love and hardwork must have went in it. Plus, Bangtan are the pioneers of social media in kpop world. One of the first "idols" to use youtube, soundcould, twitter from even before their debut. No one else was making vlogs till then. That i also a reason why their popularity rose quite fast in the west. They were really popular outside korea during their debut years. Till today, there no one beating them in social media game. If there any award which requires social media engagement and fan engagement-believe its going to BTS. You have to really pay attention tho. This will only make sense if you are invested, so if u think u cant pay attention or anything, you can stall it. Focusing on whats happening is imp than whats not.

Jack

This was such a healthy dose of BTS Lore

Anya

You failed us Nikita 🥀

Nica

Yes Carter, V going from being “hidden” to becoming the biggest star is really crazy! He was there the whole time during that period and when the 6 members were filming a log. BTS may have had more creative freedom than many idol groups at the time but things like image and public exposure were all strictly controlled by the Company. It was pretty bittersweet especially since V shared in a 2021 Rolling Stone interview that he felt isolated that time and even thought he’d been cut from the team 💔 He’s become candid about the experience more recently and said in a new interview just this year they later told him the reason was so other companies wouldn’t try to poach him. You should watch this 2026 interview on YouTube https://youtu.be/5SGUwwewsNg it’s his most informative interview to date where he told his life story, talked about his family, etc. This interview will answer McKay’s questions. And wow Cannon you remember that V mentioned his dad in the faker video. He often casually mentions his parents but he doesn’t post them on social media

Gatha Naranath

Bts do keep their family hidden these days. And try to tell fans not to spread photos of them. Same as their siblings, they try to tell armies to not spread photos of them. But we know what a lot of them look like because of old photos. Such as jungkooks high school graduation or entrance I don’t remember. And certain family photos. Also I think most people know what Jimins dad looks like because he owns a café in Korea so many fans visit that Café and have taken pictures with him. I think the most famous family member is Jhopes sister. She vlogs and is an influencer and works in the beauty industry so she’s quite famous and we all love her. She was also featured on a variety show Jhope was on where they film his routine during the day and he met up with her. So she’s the only one willingly on camera

Crystel C.R

The parts showing the K-pop world are included so viewers can see the difference between how things started for them and how things are generally done in K-pop. An please watch it till the end 🙏🙏

Crystel C.R

A lot of your question are gonna be answer with this documentary

Sienna

You need to watch the video till the end. You guys missed out the best parts

Rosalita16

You guys can react to 'Bts calling their parents on camera' if you want a sneak peek into their relationships with parents

Ghi Bon

V kept his private life secret. Not even a single pic or clips of his siblings, only his parents. Glad he protected his siblings privacy with how toxic and obsessed kpoppies are.

Saryn

V was not the last member to join he was there before jimin but he was hidden so other companies won’t get him!

gm ‘777

V wasn’t the last to join, Jimin was. V was just hidden, the reason is unknown !! also please watch until the end of the video!!

yoonii

guys don’t miss out on the deleted scenes and bonus clips please 🙏

Ana Paula

Thank you!!!💕 I absolutely love this documentary series. It is very informative and contains a lot of behind-the-scenes footage. It's great.💜🇧🇷🥰

Galiaa

You guys should watch “BTS Calling their parents by SugArmy” it’s like a fan made compilation video about BTS interacting with their parents.

Honey⑦

ryt?I never thought about it,coz ofc I never thought about their parents perse but to think,we have never ever seen V's siblings and the only time we have seen his parents are when he himself showed their picture. 13 years into the industry and being one of the most famous person globally, to think that not even a picture of his siblings is outis crazy and soo good for him and his surroundings too tbh.No one dared to put them out. That goes for all the members' families.Jiwoo being such a big influencer in korea yet never did she tried to take her brother's support becoz it would have made sense. If I had a brothe that famous, would I have asked him to help?maybe. But to think she never tried that and built a name for herself is crazy. Namjoon' s sister too, it would have been soo easy to promote ur cafe officially thru ur brother but even I got to know about her cafe just days before when JK used it as a promotion for his CK launch. Its refreshing too see celebrities do that. Also, never did any of the families tried to say anything. We all know how idols's parents sometimes taunt others , but to think that their sons were going thru sm online and they truted them and didnt say anything weird is commendable!

yoonii

please watch the whole video until the end and watch the deleted scenes and bonus clips at the end they’re so important. they’re 2 videos btw but so short.

Honey⑦

I think he has said before too that the company did tell him he would be "hidden" coz they thought other companies would try to poach V,but he did feel isolated coz ofc he wasnt on camera with the others as much. But he wasnt as such "isolated",not hidden in a room or smth. They just didnt film him officialy. He still practiced and lived with his members. Staff knew him etc.It was just during official vlogs and photos before debut, that he wasnt in them.

Elmo

I was thinking it was the opposite. These days their parents and siblings are more visible than ever.

Bri 🦔

Well no bts didn’t copy/ get inspiration from other kpop groups its was epik high which is a Korean hip hop group and American artist they have a whole song about giving flowers for those artist in their song hip hop lover such a good track

Hyeunrby

Please include 2cool 4skool and RoB together in the next week poll🙏

Rana

Btw the series stopped around their time in 2018 so kinda disappointed about that but well they have official documentaries so that’s fine u can watch it after that Plus hopefully u listen to the songs or mvs maybe the album before each episode so it doesn’t spoil anything And Guys please watch the new BTS festa dinner

Rana

Yessssss

Taetaele

nah bts were bigger than kpop from dna in 2017

Rana

When the editor shows you the K-pop industry and how it works, and then BTS it shows you the difference. BTS from the beginning didn't follow the K-pop mold specifically, and all credit goes to Bang BD who gave them the freedom to do what they wanted unlike K-pop groups at that time

Hyeunrby

They went mainstream with I Need U and hit peak legendary status in kpop scene with Fire and Blood, Sweat& Tears

Noha⁷

It's actually insane how they have such a detailed footage of their lives from 13 years ago and how they ended up being the biggest group in the world. whoever told them to do the logs and stuff was smart as hell. (i think it was RM and suga right?)

Laura

Pla continue this series, im not even an army but this series is sooo good and entertaining youll love it

mads

Guys don’t skip the last part of the video!!! There’s extra content at the end

Hyeunrby

Yesss I NEED THIS

katsuki’s wife

Great reaction! I’d love to see some girl group reactions alongside the boy group content as well. Maybe a separate GG poll in the future could be a good idea? It would be so fun to watch the Geeks get introduced to BLACKPINK, NewJeans, aespa🙏

Romeo’s Jimliet

Can we get some of their new stuff? Come over, merry go round video, arirang concert Busan day 2?

Yasmine

Oh my God, will this be a regularly scheduled thing? 😍😍

Taetaelover

V was'nt the last member, they kept him hidden. Thats why you dn't see him in the footages, V has talked about this a few times even recently, but it was the company decision

Taetaelover

thats why it says last to be known not last to join, Jimin was the last member to join

I’m Maya

you can react to stray kids new song "run it" this is their comeback

Noori

You NEED to watch the ep till the end, next ep trailer including!!!!

Noori

I hope you keep reacting to this every week

Kira🤪

Jimin was the last to join with the shortest training period. V was hidden until debut so many reactors get them two mixed up as to who was actually the last to join.

Geev

I always appreciate the reactors watch this series pls make it regular

Geev

As you watch more and more the chapters you will see their journey, its so heartwarming

Taetaelover

he was there with them and he wasn't the last to join, but the company made a decision to keep him hidden until they actually debuted as a band

Callie

If you continue to watch this series they will address this in a later episode but male kpop idols are also very much body shamed and criticized for their looks. That industry is VERY harsh on both male and female idols looks. I know they only showed female idols talking about it in this episode but male and female kpop idols are both heavily scrutinized for their looks. We see female artists/celebrities in the West being body shamed more than we do male artists/celebrities but in the kpop industry the male idols also experience a lot of that. Especially at the time these logs were being filmed. BTS members especially got a lot of criticism and backlash for not meeting typical idol/korean beauty standards, some of them were made fun of for having darker skin and natural facial features (many idols get plastic surgery). Coming from the US it’s hard for us to wrap our minds around it because we see a male singer or rapper, whose music we love, and he doesn’t get judged for not being skinny or pretty. But it’s very different there.

Geev

You can always relate with bts journey despite different life experience :”

Pluto

You can react to bts hardships

noor

I think some ppl already told you about the korean age system but yeah they’re younger than they’re actually saying and that’s so crazy to me 😭 like when I was in school and if I had an exam I thought it was the most stressful thing ever, meanwhile, jimin, tae, and jungkook were still in school while training and working 💀 and then all of them got their university degrees and even masters while being *them* they’re really inspiring

Hyeunrby

Jhope saying I bought new pants! is my favorite😂

Elle

This series is a great way to get a better understanding of BTS's journey. A few things to keep in mind: • More information will be revealed later, so don't worry if some things seem unclear at first. • Please watch until the end of each episode. There are no major spoilers, just some fun clips and extra moments. • Most episodes also include bonus content and deleted scenes, so make sure to check those out. • Korean age system: In Korea, babies used to be considered 1 year old at birth, and everyone gained a year on New Year's Day rather than on their birthday. Because of this, you generally need to subtract about 1-2 years to get their international age. (At their debut in 2013, their international ages were approximately: RM: 18, Jin: 20, Suga: 20, J-Hope: 19, Jimin/ V: 17, Jungkook: 15).

😭

Tiisetso Maduna

I want to suggest Busan D2 concert but I think it would be such a shame not to watch the Busan Yet To Come concert before enlistment, what a treat 🥺💜

Tiisetso Maduna

And BTS LIVE is always a MUST. Whenever you choose a song both mv and live is what I'd recommend 💜

Reten

I've seen so many people recommend busan yet to come concert. The geks said they'll do concerts later. They don't plan on doing them rn

Tiisetso Maduna

I've mostly seen Busan D2 recommendations which is understandable too since they know the songs expected from that concert so they may be able to enjoy it more. Either way I'd still be happy with them experiencing any of them whether now or later.

MorganxJKBias💖

Thank you guys, but please watch until the end, yes it's a "preview" but it doesn't really show the next episode and it's always scenes that have been deleted and funny clips of them at the end💜

Miaka Yuki

So happy you are finally reacting to this. This series made me understand, appreciate and love bts more. No other bands/group of people as hardworking as them and started from a humble beginnings this is why they are special for me. Please please watch it everyday hahahahah. Thank you geks!🤍

TY

It's been a long time since I've seen this series. Looking forward to rewatching it all with you. Re:carboncopy YT channels.. I don't mind as long as they're entertaining or bring something new (and not some brainrot content lol). But as you invest time (and money haha) following and watching, you'll just know if the reactors are genuine and if you vibe with them OR if you're just wasting/wasted your time lol Conclusion: Enjoying. Here. Subscribed. 🫶

Ruba

hey geks! for jungkook's fifa performance please watch the skech as well it’s a short behind the scenes video of the performance

RA

WE NEED THE EP 2!!!!

020125

Great reaction 💜 I also want to clarify that there isn’t one “most famous” or “most popular” member. Saying that there is only creates the stereotypical idea of a group having one breakout star, which is something army’s usually dislike because BTS’s success comes from each and every member. They all contribute something unique, and the member considered the most famous usually depends on the country, region, or what type of success you’re looking at. While the maknae line is often more popular globally, constantly focusing on that can unintentionally downplay the other members and attract solo Stan’s which is unfortunate because from the beginning, the rap line played a huge role in shaping BTS’s sound and identity. For example, Taehyung has one of the strongest online followings, Jungkook is often considered the most mainstream internationally, and Jimin has a lot of influence in Korea. But it really depends on what kind of success we’re talking about, because every member has achieved incredible things and none of them fall short. If you ever attend a BTS concert, you’ll realize there truly isn’t just one “most famous” member. Army’s show up for every member, and the cheers are incredibly loud for all of them. BTS’s strength has always been that every member brings something important to the group.

Cata

Please react to Dimple+ Pied Piper live performance, I'm sure that if most of Army were here, that option would have won. The live performance is iconic. 💜🔥

Nikita

Btw before debut, they did garner a fanbase. They released some cover songs like the ones you saw clips of in this video and interacted with fans on their site at the time. So fans already existed prior to their debut basically. You'll see in upcoming eps. Jennie, Lisa and Rosé all speak fluent English. Jennie lived in New Zealand when she was young, Rosé is from New Zealand and Lisa's multilingual. Also the weight thing is not just for girls. Kpop idols have a strict weight and look standard and no matter what the western world thinks, they're still gonna do that for the Korean fanbase. The BTS members were pretty buff and fuller right after military but right before the Arirang comeback they went on diets and exercise routines to go back to idol standard looks. You will often hear them say they've gained weight, their face is puffy, etc when they look fine to us. But anyway, that's a whole other story.

Alayna

Korean age and universal age is different. Its strange but they were about 2 year younger than what they say!

Kelly Melvin

I second this! I like these guys but they can get a bit too caught up about who is the most popular which naturally creates negativity. I know they don’t mean it in a negative way but still

hibu.k

We absolutely NEED a reaction to the ARIRANG Busan Day 2 concert soon! Please add it to the next poll lineup! 😭💜

Gayu

Please watch the video until the end.

Marie

My suggestion for next week would be -Jin Solos -ROB -Dimple/Pied Piper performance and Ddaeng (rap line)+Ddaeng (performed by vocal line) Other ideas would be run BTS mini field day, I have seen so many requests for this! And an album reaction for Love yourself : Tear Thanks for all the great content!

Jo

LOOK WHO WE AREEE😝😝😝

Jo

Ideas for next week😝 Jin Solo Ateez killing voice Dimple/pied piper lyric and performance video ??😬🤷🏾‍♀️

emanuela

For next week: Jin’s Solo, ROB ep 2 and Dimple/Pied Piper performance cause it’s iconic🙂‍↔️

Pluto

The voice that leads BTS to the world stage Respect your seniors mock your junior from boracity

Pluto

Weekly ROB reaction please please 🙏

Ninia

About parent support, i think some parents were supportive but for example Yoongi's parents were very against it, first time they came to bts concert yoongi bowed and cried in stage

Aya

Please do the poll that didn’t win last week that way it’s fair for each person that voted for either one. I think everytime you guys do a poll the one that wins should be done first like you guys have been doing and then the other choice that didn’t win should be done the next week

floo

We are the dreamers

Reten

Ddaeng by vocal line was 🔥🔥🔥

Jo

Please do both the Performance and MV for dreamers😩😩 you can’t just watch the performance

Da'Al

v wasn't the last member but he was a hidden member bc they were afraid of bigger companies stealing him. the last member was jimin he also had the shortest training period just 6 months

kirix

Thanks for videos guys

kirix

V wasn’t here because he was a secret member

020125

it was simply a marketing strategy the part were the company was scared of bigger companies stealing him is not confirmed. Honestly it was such an unfortunate strategy since it only ended up sort of isolating v in their debut days (since pre-debut fans weren’t able to connect with him predebut)

Devyn ⁷ 🍉

i will say my biggest criticism to the rise of bangtan is the amount of good faith the creators give to bang pd. He gets good graces bc the boys do like him but i think he is majorly flawed and is, today, not a good man. He claims he never forced mandatory hours of practice but we have a bunch of video proof of the members asking if they can finally go home after recording videos- whether joking or serious the staff still tells them to keep going for the best shot. The amount of past trainees talking about how the system was still too suffocating for them and it’s why they left. they had abusive managers in the past that were only fired after videos weren’t edited enough and you could see jhope flinch after a manager raised a hand at him. The boys even all agreed they would rather go back through the army before going back to their trainee days. It was a serious struggle no matter how nice bang pd claims his system was compared to others

Nanci

Yes, RM signed when he was 15, j-hope when he was 16 and Suga when he was 17, in 2010. In 2011, 18 year old Jin, 13 year old 8th grader JK, and 15 year old V were signed and moved into the dorm. At the end of 2012 a 17 year old Jimin was signed just 6 months before they debuted as BTS in June of 2013. Suga was 20 when they debuted though, not 19, and j-hope was 19, because Suga's birthday is March 9th and j-hope birthday is Feb 18th and they debuted in June.

Nanci

Please note that ROB uses a storytelling device in the early episodes of showing how it was for other idols and then immediately showing BTS NOT doing those things. They did have some strictures on them, since they were mostly minors and they were working hard to be a successful group, but it was not the same as at other companies. Bang Si Hyuk formed Big Hit partly because he didn't like the way the industry treated artists, and BTS members were not just idols, they were composers/songwriters/producers as well. There was no replacing them in their lineup because the group was theirs and based around their creative inspiration and ideas, and tiny, broke Big Hit didn't have any other trainees or groups to pull from. They were all in with BTS. So, for instance, if the guys talk about dieting, that was something they did to themselves, not something mandated on them. You can see them going out to eat, talking about going to the restaurant above their leaky basement practice studio 3 times a day and cleaning their plates. In another example, the trainee environment was also not competitive for BTS. The label did not threaten them or punish them as other idols talked about. Their training system was developed partly by BTS themselves, since Big Hit had never trained a group before, and they trained themselves and each other as much as anyone else trained them. They had a cooperative, "we're all in this together" mindset. Things were different for them, but that doesn't mean it was not as hard. It was just different. They worked their asses off, but they were in charge of their schedule and participation to a large degree. They pushed themselves harder than anyone else ever could. To answer your question, none of their parents pushed them. In fact, the rap line all had parents opposed to their musical aspirations, except for j-hope's GOATed mom. The vocal line had supportive families. Jimin had to convince his dad to let him give it a shot and he made a whole paper and presentation with steps he planned to achieve for his success to get his dad behind him. He hit every single one of his goals of course. V had a family that encouraged him to follow his musical dreams from a very young age, though they were poor. Jin was in college for acting and his family was supportive of his aspirations as a performer before he was scouted by Big Hit. Jungkook's parents let their 13 year old 8th grader move far away from their city of Busan, up to the big capital, Seoul to move into what the boys called their "Rap Den" with a bunch of teen underground rappers and street dancers and singers. I think his parents were kind of crazy, but also, look what it did for their son, so maybe not so crazy. They were blessed to have each other and also good adults around them in their company and they grew up so well together.

Nanci

Yes, they do shield their families, who are mostly private citizens. j-hope's older sister is a blogger and beauty and fashion influencer with her own cosmetic and skincare line, but she is the only one kind of in the public eye. Jimin's dad runs a cafe that is very popular with ARMYs and many ARMYs have met him there. Jin's older brother and sister-in-law also run a restaurant. The parents are a real unit now, and they consider all the boys "theirs." They can often be seen sitting together at BTS shows in South Korea. This is j-hope at Jin's solo concert with some of the parents. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/GWZ3Wc5jO3I And the same show, but with RM and V also there with j-hope and the parents https://www.youtube.com/shorts/USIKdgnkVZY j-hope's dad hugging the members the weekend they got discharged from the military at j-hope's solo concert at the end of his tour (he was discharged earlier.) That's Jin first in the white T, then Suga and Jimin in the beanies, then RM and V. I think Jungkook was backstage at that time because he performed with j-hope, the day after his discharge, like a crazy person. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6yGlo0iwkzA The very first thing the boys did when they were able was buy their parents cars and homes. All but Jin and RM's families were lower income, either working class or poor. RM's family was solidly middle class, and Jin's family had some means. He was the only one receiving an allowance as a trainee and he mostly used it to feed his brothers, since Big Hit was so broke they could not even really afford to keep the boys fed properly.
