Unfortunately that ragebait video is a good example of the type of hate/commentary BTS gets from overseas. Bro I remember when I was in either middle school or high school and one of my classmates was an army and some boys would say "oh those boys wanna be girls so bad". Like the hate was crazyyyyyy, in-person and online just for some interaction. I know the goal is for it to be funny, but sometimes the jokes falls flat😭And I understand being new to kpop and not understanding the concepts/norms, but you can tell when the person doesn't care to learn or open to it. The Geks reaction to the video was funny. They're real armies now😭😭

I think that’s exactly why I love your content and reaction content in general. There’s something genuinely powerful about it: it pushes people out of their comfort zones and almost forces them to open their minds. And that’s what I find incredible. You end up discovering things you never thought you’d like, and even if it’s not everything, there are always little details that resonate with you. It also breaks a lot of preconceived ideas. Sometimes you think you won’t like a certain artist or person, or you already have a fixed image of them and then, once you actually give it a chance with an open mind, you’re genuinely surprised. You discover a completely different side, a personality you didn’t expect at all. And honestly, that’s such a cool feeling. That’s why I really appreciate reaction channels. Even if some people overdo it or feel a bit fake, there are others like you where the sincerity is obvious. I felt that right away when I discovered your first video on Attack on Titan. Dawg I have been a bts fan since I was 7... I'm 18 now, and I've seen MOST boracity videos, and when you watch them and you're not biased towards BTS, it feels really disrespectful. BTS has so many points that are worth praising without needing to bring other groups into it at all. "Coming with the facts" and it's just her degrading other groups success? She has made many very informative videos about BTS, and i applaud her for that because they're really helpful to people who don't understand their impact, all I was saying is that she could use a little more respect when talking about other groups, and not act like BTS is the only successful kpop group in the entire world. thanks for the reaction 💜! also I wanted to point out the typically if someone says something like “I’m army but-“ they are one: most likely not army or two: multistans that do partially like bts but prefer other K-pop groups. in the case of boracity I still recommend checking out some more of her videos especially her video essays, they can really educate you. I wouldn’t necessarily say she is biased but as you can see by her name boracity (purple city) she is a bts channel and doesn’t necessarily give you videos on K-pop as a whole. She will not sugarcoat what bts went through and that is what makes multis/ K-pop fans mad. As for the prior video you guys reacted to she put plenty of examples coming from BTS own book, their own words. she makes very informative videos, just like K-pop fans don’t like claiming bts as theirs (except their achievements) most army’s do not claim K-pop because we simply don’t really like it.

We just want to be transparent that Boracity is VERY BTS-biased, so it’s worth keeping that perspective in mind. Re: the extra scenes for TROB lol. I am in the minority on this, but they didn't really add anything to my understanding of the story. I get that isn't the point of those scenes (they're just for fun), but it always felt weird to watch them after an episode for me personally. Tbh I ended up skipping most of them when I watched TROB myself (and so I guess I'll see them with you lol). Yeah, their digital footprint is overwhelming. Obviously, they were pumping this content out because they didn't have any big company backing to drum up commercial support, but the amount of footage is insane. I can't think of any other artist with this amount of content. And you can really tell they never thought they would have this current level of fame lol. A lot of people (other fan bases) actively want to deny BTS and their come up story, Boracity is Army but she does speak of things based on facts. However, a number of what she said can be seen in their books and was recorded it’s just from a BTS fan view point.

I think people who say Boracity's video is too much are usually fans of big 3 company groups. Like Stuff in that video is not a disaster (- JK's burger part, I hate it), but considering nobody talks about what happens behind the scenes and how normalized looking down on somebody below you is, I guess Boracity found only these cases to show examples of mistreatment of juniors. And I am sure there were groups with worse cases, especially female groups with harassments or idols going as far as committing suicide. Boracity magazine is a channel only for BTS and she tries to not name other groups usually. And as she said in the video, BTS is one of the groups who flipped the dynamic, so it a good example, like the comic guy not saying Hi to Jin and then apologizing for it. And yeah I agree that most of the time it is company's fault. Most of the idols are children who were trained under them and they have strict rules on what to say/or not to say.

Many BTS fans are not necessarily kpop fans. So you will find that in general Armys like Boracity videos, but some kpop fans don’t.

I am not a stanof any other group other than BTS. And I was a vocal hater of that video lol what she said really happened but the people that are saying she is taking the information from the book. No she did not. The book does not give specific examples. She’s interpolating her own perception of the impact of those situations on BTS themselves. I get that she was just showing examples of the type of situations they mentioned. And I’m even fine with that. But it’s just the framing and editing just made some of the individuals and situations look worse. It’s just personal taste. I don’t think it’s fair to measure how army someone is based on if they go along with everything any army does or thinks.

The book did not give specific situations. She framed those situations along with references from the book, as if they were what BTS was specifically referring to refer to. When likely they may be referring to situations that they’ve never talked about and that we don’t have access to see. What are the odds that everything they talked about, just happen to have video of? That’s highly unlikely. I’m sure there’s a lot of worse crap that happened behind scenes that they just didn’t necessarily ever feel the need to talk about. just because they match similar situations they discussed, doesn’t mean that’s who or what they were thinking of when they wrote those tings. And I’m not saying that everything she showed was not referred to. Obviously there’s a video of them performing with the stage lights off in confetti that has already fallen. Things like that. But the very personal interactions with other idols and show hosts, I think she took the framing of villain versus hero, a little too far.

People in my country don't even care about our local music, we usually listen to Russian, European, American music. So when I first heard about kpop being a thing, I was surprised to know that a country so far away had impact on people in Middle East. A girl from my class liked kpop, asked me to check EXO. I forgot the name of the group, so I just typed kpop in Youtube and it happened to be the day BTS released Blood Sweat & Tears. I think I was very open-minded to it, as we usually listened to songs not in our native tongue.

Also I am army, but I am not a K-pop fan. Please be careful about assuming just because all army are not using the same hive brain, that we are less army. We all have different opinions and approaches. I tend to be a very rational, thinking person and take everything that is presented to me with a grain of salt, especially if it’s not directly from the source.

About Boracity's video, I wouldn't call it biased. BTS is a 3rd-gen group, and a lot of things happened while they were paving the way. It was a different time. I don't think it's fair to compare BTS with groups like TXT (just an example), because every generation has its own circumstances and characteristics.

There are army that don’t like this type of video. I’m a fan of most of her videos, but I don’t like this video or the hardship videos. I don’t like videos that paint things things in black-and-white that paint people as good and bad. That’s just my personal preference. It’s no commentary on who I do or don’t like. BTS is the only K-pop group I enjoy, and I don’t consider myself a K-pop fan at all.

Are y’all choosing to only do one or the other between the deleted scenes and bonus content? If that’s the case then I do prefer y’all stick with bonus content like you’re doing now since it’s more lighthearted and funny. However, I hope y’all consider reacting to both the deleted scenes and bonus content for each chapter going forward as the deleted scenes also add great information. Definitely worth checking out both. The funny clip that Carter mentioned a few videos back where Jimin offered a guy yogurt was actually in a deleted scene for chapter 5 haha

They’ve messed up plenty of times throughout the years, and they beat themselves up for it everytime. Even now they make small choreography or vocal mistakes but they’re never big enough for anybody to care about because we know how amazing they are 9/10 times!

I honestly have to disagree everything she said was a fact and she didn’t say anything false , I think people who are bothered or think that’s it’s bias just feel some type of way towards BTS . and if she seems bias it’s because she’s a BTS fan and that’s what her channel is about , she isn’t a K-pop channel

I feel like when army’s hear people say boracity is biased, they make the assumption that we’re saying she’s lying- which is not the case. Pretty much everything she says is true, HOWEVER, when I say she’s biased I mean that sometimes she tends to accidentally antagonize people involved. And I understand that because we feel so strongly about bts we also tend to hold grudges against the people that have treated them a bit strange, but it gets to a point where you have to understand that people improve, apologize, or never meant something in the first place. I love boracity but it’s okay to acknowledge when someone has a bit of a bias

I honestly only seriously stan two groups but I listen to a lot of K-pop. I’m an armygene, meaning bts and enhypen. I’ve been into K-pop since 2007, Boracity spoke the truth, she provides receipts always. I’ve been there for all of it. It is not biased but there are people who like bts who also like other groups that struggle to admit just how bad it was for bts and how easy in comparison their other favorite groups had it. Ofcs, all groups have their struggles, but there was a clear difference.

Yes Carter and McKay, V is unfortunately featured much less in their older official content. All the behind the scenes footages, documentaries and performances, he often had the least screen time and it didn’t help that he only have few lines in most of BTS early songs. The silver lining is that he inspired very dedicated fansites that made an effort to film him and share his moments. I think some of her videos are good like the short guide to BTS. The thing people are getting wrong is that the Armys that don't like her videos have nothing against BTS, it's about boracity and the way the video essays are made. Yes, she does include truthful facts, but she sprinkles confirmation bias throughout. The video comes off as a persuasive essay or at least argumentative essay disguised as expository. At first i couldn't put my finger on it and then i realized why some of her videos just didn't sit right with me. I'm not saying all her videos feel that way, but some strongly do. It's important to stand back and view things from a distance, objectively and understand nuances. Maybe cause i am bit older i can view things with a different lense.

I'm a fan but I don't agree with most of the comments. I do think some of her videos are biased, just like rise of bangtan. It's good, gives you some background on their career but BTS did't put it out themselves. They might not view things or themselves in that way. I think the best honestly is to consume BTS content that is produced directly by them. Fans always have a different perspective or view/paint the members in some ways that is not always true. Just something to keep in mind!

If you're looking for a balance of other groups struggles you're gonna have to go find another channel that makes videos on that particular group. To be fair, it’s just that one video. Personally I love her topics of discussion. And she always brings facts (nobody claimed she lied like so many here were accusing others of claiming). But I do watch her videos with just a bit of skepticism and a grain of salt in terms of knowing her bias not only for BTS, but against K-pop (which she herself doesn’t hide). I still appreciate and enjoy them very much. She does a great job in presenting f her thoughts…just sometimes she doesn’t emphasize enough that they are her thoughts .

In the defense of the question "why do you need 7 people", thinking of the boy bands I listened to growing up, there was always a main voice (and very obviously so), maybe 1-2 others with more significant parts and the rest maybe harmonizing in the chorus ? So yes, when I first read about BTS I was wondering if 7 is not too much (7 members was the maximum I knew of in a group). But then I saw the different styles and colors of each member, I loved the fact that each of them has a part in most of the songs. And then I couldn't imagine eliminating anyone from the group. No one feels like an "extra". But it takes time to take a deeper dive into their music to reach that conclusion. But the guy in the clip you had us listen to is just being an a**, that I completely agree with. He takes it way too far (but I love the fact that the video didn't get attention, that's how it should be).
