let's goooo

This video is a complete and reliable guide to BTS, with accurate and verified information up until 2024. The members were serving their mandatory military service, and they began being discharged one by one from 2024 through 2025. https://youtu.be/CnrhrMFTilU?

Bri 🦔

streets saying they’re working in another album all the producers/ songwriters that worked on arirang are in Korean at hybe… which makes sense since they all worked on 100 songs together

Bangtan’sNikki ⁷

The boys went back home to south Korea, but they will be back for the iHeart music festival. And then they start their South American leg of the tour in October. They’re getting a bit of a break. Believe me, I’ve cried because they’ve left our soil.😭🥹💜

愛

jk did say during LA day 4 “see you next year” so 👀👀

Ana

Oh yaaay I’m so happy we got RoB first

kooskyu

vlive is no longer operating

Cutae

RoB deleted can be confusing, but most of them are for fun. Unless you watch the actual footage, it’s gonna be hard to understand everything.

Divina Izzard

The members no longer use Vlive to do the lives. They do lives on Weverse. It isn't just BTS , it is also other idols groups that are under Hybe.

DDayTokki

(im sorry for my fault 😔🙏 didnt know the subtitles were cut) The most beautiful moment in life album was the first time their songs were actually getting more and more popular and thats how their fame started to go up and that film of them in the beach and all that i think it was a stage prologue and its part of the Bangtan universe (story)

Glory

Am I trippin or there’s no captions for the bonus scenes

patricia jimjimcherie

22:17 “never mind, it’s not easy, but engrave it on your chest” never mind then became Jimin’s first tattoo. He has it on his right ribs.

Elmo

I wouldn't blame you for skipping the bonuses. They laaaagg, and are repetitive. Please don't do it if you don't enjoy it. Even with context its just too much for too long IMO.

Eri

RM is a great speaker!

Mani

They did have subtitles but it just doesn’t show for us

Etain

lol the captions on the bonus scenes are cut off so the whole time I thought you guys were watching without subs

Bangtan’sNikki ⁷

Yup I caught on after about a minute or so. However, my Korean sucks😭🥹

Mani

The deleted scenes are more connected to the vid it’s just clips that didn’t make it so u can watch those instead

Black_galaxi BTS

Please react to a compilation of BTS TikToks, but make sure they are edits from the Arirang tour, news, general information, and well-edited.

The video intro owez says turn on CC, they must have forgotten.

StackingSpaghettiSauce

Suga's parents didn't approve of him choosing to become a rapper which is why seeing them at that concert meant so much to him

Luna

Loved the reaction guys. Jimin has the title of the song Nevermind tattooed on his torso on his right side and it is because of the song. At this point I feel like you guys might not want to watch the extended content for The Rise of Bangtan and it is mostly fun extra scenes and yes, I do understand why you would be frustrated not knowing the context for it all so really, it's up to you to continue watching them or not, I think they are great for a good laugh after heavy content. The V app no longer exists as it was bought by HYBE's Weverse, but any BTS content that was on the V app is on Weverse, the now app used. You can download and join the community for free, all the Run episodes are also on youtube free and subtitled now, there is a membership you can pay for, for some benefits but you don't really need it until it's time for the next concert and want to participate in the ARMY membership presale where basically all the tickets will be sold out, just FYI if you guys are interested in going to any future concerts. It is also the website where HYBE/ BigHit announces official statement through their notifications.

Bri

Sooo glad you guys are still doing rise of bangtan 💕

Bri

We need some Run BTS reactions next!

Anya

Yes we all miss run bts pls do mini field day or flying yoga next

bowie is tired

i wish yall watched episode 8’s bonus content its one of my favs 💔

Ana

BTS digital footprint is insane lol. They’re so weird lol

Nanami's Wife

Yeah Cannon and Jack are right, Justin Bieber is way bigger than BTS worldwide. BTS is a big group right now, but when you compare them to Justin Bieber, there's a wide gap. More people on a worldwide scale would recognize Justin wayy more and not everyone listens to kpop or even knows abt it. I know BTS isn't really 'kpop' anymore per se, but still. I still meet people that don't know BTS which is crazy to me, but I also like to gatekeep🙂‍↕️ (jk😭). I am happy that BTS is getting all the recognition they deserve rn💜 Fun Fact: Justin reposted Jungkook being shirtless and showing his abs and chest all glazed up 😏😭 I know Jungkook was spazzing with happiness Actually the real question is which group is bigger globally, BTS or Blackpink? (I don't like putting groups against each other, but this is ALWAYS a question I see in kpop conversations)

its me abeer

bts are definitely still kpop wtf are we talking about lmao

Jasmin☆

i fr would’ve wished yall watched run bts from the beginning the first couple of episodes are short 2-3 eps can be put in 1 video :(( but hopefully rob finish’s quickly

Sarah kim

No guys, the tour ends in 2027 🤣 also thanks for the reaction, its always funny 💜 btw I want to recommend JHOPE LOLLAPALOOZA 2022 FULL PERFORMANCE for the next poll pls 🛐

Nanami's Wife

No, I mean the type of music they are making now isn't something I would categorize as 'kpop' anymore and their status. Does that make sense? The growth and development in their music is so much different than typical 'kpop'. And yes, I know kpop is already not original, but when comparing groups, no other kpop group is moving like BTS internationally (except the sole exception of Gojo). The only other group I can think of is Blackpink that is comparable, but BTS music is more evolved than just kpop. Getting nominated for Grammys, performing at world cups, selling out 50,000+ stadiums, etc. So YES, bts IS kpop, BUT I believe they're more than just kpop now

Mira

Yay thanks! :) In my opinion deleted scenes are better than bonus scenes for you guys since you don’t know the context for bonus scenes. Its up to you to continue watching them or not

Nanami's Wife

YES Run BTS Episodes!! I also miss them too, hope they come back!

Mira

For BTS features songs, I suggest Eight by IU (prod. & feat. Suga), Suga’s Interlude by Halsey & Suga

Hyeunrby

Yeah actually being able to be busy is huge blessing for kpop idols. The industry is such a red ocean and the chance is not given to everyone. There’s a girlgroup named Rescene, which is the most popular one in Korea right now, and there was a news that the leader went to hospital to get an IV by their harsh schedule. Fans were worried but also saying “It must be hard but it’s such a important time, so just hoping that she’s doing good” instead of the entertainment is abusing the idols blah blah. Because they’re like bts, who finally achieved success after almost 2? 3years? from debut even though the company is very small.

Hyeunrby

Can I ask for Red velvet killing voice next week👀

Hyeunrby

I should have gone to concert at this era fahhhhh

luna

honestly, to say if bts is bigger than justin beiber today is kinda hard to determine imo. i’d say in terms of numbers and success .. yes. but in terms of recognition and global impact, probably not. everyone knows justin’s name. and MOST people know bts but not everyone. so id say today .. yes. but in jb’s prime? FUCK no. if you put today’s bts against prime jb, it wouldn’t even be close. so it depends lol.

nelle

To this day i still don't know why they admitted that in that interview like yall we did NOT need to know whats on ur computer LMAOOOO. But for some additional context for the episode, the Vlive app was acquired by Weverse in 2022 so they go live on Weverse instead now. But all their lives from V live are still on their BTS Weverse account. Also, the reason why there was a lot of "fun" montages this episode was because this is when the first episode of RUN BTS was filmed. In general they just started having a lot more fun at this time both from being on tour and through filming RUN BTS. Jimin's "Nevermind" tattoo across his ribs is in reference to Suga's intro: nevermind you heard in the episode. Also, they were very emotional during that concert because all of their families were there (RM mentions only thinking his parents and little sister were attending but it was about 11 of his family members there) and it was the end of a successful tour and their most successful era in general at the time (HYYH era gave them their first music show win, real international recognition, etc.) so it just brought up extra emotions during their last concert for those albums plus all of their families being there, everything just piled up on top of each other and made them super emotional! :')

Nikita

Please listen to RUN and House of Cards before the next episode. 🙂

Hyeunrby

Please include crush - Crush Hour (ft. Jhope)🙏 Am I the only one who love this song😭

Ruba

Istg whenever u see a sussy scene of bts, there’s always gonna be J hope, V , and Jimin in the scene of the crime😭

bowie is tired

If yall want clips with context I’d recommend watching the deleted scenes instead, they follow the context of the episode its just behind the scenes that the creator of ROB didn’t include

its me abeer

Just cuz they’re getting more awards and are successful doesn’t make them suddenly a genre of their own they do songs based on genres just like everyone and for their case it’s kpop they’re literally kpop af they’re a group that has vocalist’s and rappers and they dance and do crazy hair styles I get what ur saying but NO their music is not that different at all kpop groups literally always do every typa genre out there they’re always doing different sounds it’s not unique to bts and kpop literally stands for Korean popular music so I don’t know how what they’re doing is not that

Devyn ⁷ 🍉

V app is no longer a thing, Weverse completely demolished it (sadly because weverse actually sucks and hybe is greedy

Jade

Do you only do bts reactions or can you check out other groups songs too?

komispo

i think op is moreso talking abt bts advancing beyond the largely perceived notion of what kpop is and can be, not the actuality of bts still operating within kpop as an industry. bc kpop has always had a formula and a cetain perception and bts was certainly born from that but has reshaped it and pushed those bounds. at least that’s what i think op was getting at, but yes bts is still kpop as it relates to the actual markers of kpop as an industry (bc it’s not a genre, idk why ppl call it that)

Angel

now jins mom has one of the most globally loved and talented child in history, epic come up story

E L

Nooo pls continue the bonus content

gm ‘777

please react to Lilith by Halsey ft Suga and who by lauv ft Jimin and jungkook

Isabel.vv

Trying to watch this video at 3:00 am with the most butt booty interent is like crawling through all 9 circles of hell

yellow

yes guys the bonus scenes in my opinion should be replaced by a run bts episode

Honey⑦

I dont think BTS would release the songs that didnt made in ,with the same producers at that. They might use them in their solo works or one song here and there but BTS wont go for the same vibe and environment imo. But curious as to why they r there.

Elmo

But what’s the point if they are clearly over it? It’s extremely lengthy with repetitive clips.

Pluto

Day I don’t know how many of recommending spring day guys spring day 💜💜

mads

I think on a metric, Justin bieber definitely has more casual listeners, hence why his Spotify listeners are higher, like for example, I probably have a few of his songs in my Spotify playlists but I wouldn’t buy an album or go to a concert, but BTS have more dedicated fans as of now, which is why they sweep the awards, album sales, viewers, concerts, they just have a more prominent fandom space.

Honey⑦

kpop isnt a genre to being with so dk wta this "suddenly they arent in that genre" mean? @its me abeer. BTS is still a korean industry made band becoz they pay special emphasis on MVs production, dance choreo etc. Kpop is an industry, not a ganre.R&B,POP, HipHop,RAP, BALLADS are called genres.JPOP,CPOP indie pop arent genres. BTS became bigger than the kpop industry combined is the sentiment OP was providing. They dont necessarily need to be associated with kpop industry(they never were, didnt benefit from them ever). Also,OP. BTS isnt "known" as much as justin because of them being korean. It has nothing to do with artistry or success perse. Justin has been in this mainstrem western industry with a big language ie. englsh for wayy longer than BTS.English undoubtedly has more reach than any other laguage. So,naturally justin is more known worldwide.(he deserves it,hes a great singer). BTS are as popular with a foriegn language which is even more impressive.

Elmo

Exactly. They came from K-pop. And they are still K-pop . But they are K-pop and more. And it even wouldn’t be incorrect to just refer to them as the “and more”. The peers they compete with are not in the K-pop industry. They run in the non-K-pop circles. So there has to be some sort of distinction between them and K-pop groups that are competing mainly within the K-pop industry.

Elmo

It was on for them because they were repeating what they were saying in English.

Kaye

Cortis when

ana

yess bring back run bts !! you should watch flying yoga eps next 🙏🏼

bia

you can tell bts had no idea that they were gonna blow up the way they did bc their digital footprint is insane. like why in each of these episodes are they always trying to kiss each other 😭 like full on mouth to mouth. all of them are guilty!!

Nanami's Wife

@its me abeer I’m not trying to be mean but it seems like you’re purposefully missing my point or not comprehending, so I’ll explain it simpler. Bts IS kpop (started in a kpop industry, create kpop songs, follow being a kpop idol, etc). And kpop in general has its own identity. Bts as a group have proceeded to higher expectations than typical kpop. And yes, their influences outside of Korea helps with that and is important. Their music is now something I believe many other kpop groups can’t compete with. There are other kpop groups/solos that I believe are exceptional when it comes to lyricism and vocal range (Shinee, Girls Generation, EXO, Lee Hyori, etc). But they are still in the category of kpop. With BTS tho, they’ve took it a step further and really step outside of the Kpop box. I believe them coming to the U.S to learn and evolve their music helped a lot AND them starting small made them even more determined when orchestrating their music. Worldwide not eveyone listens to Kpop, but as a of today I believe bts would be one of the most recognizable and that’s so important especially since Kpop is mostly restricted in Korea. (What I mean abt restricted is that it’s hard to make influential impact due to the language). After Gangnam Style went triple platinum internationally, that’s when kpop really started reaching outside of Korea. HOWEVER, after 2012 tho, kpop was still unknown. People just knew that song, that’s it. I got into kpop in 2014 before I even knew what kpop was. Nowadays a lot more people know about kpop. They still run on a formula but BTS is more than that. Literally ARIRANG has hit billions of streams. NO OTHER KPOP GROUP IS DOING THAT And yes, these numbers matter bc it shows they are exceeding the typical kpop identity. Take their solos for example as well. Anyways I know I said I’ll explain it simpler, which I did, but hopefully you still understand this since I went into more detailed

Nanami's Wife

@komispo @Honey @Elmo Thank you for understanding what I’m trying to say!!💜 Basically I’m saying BTS is bigger than the program 😭😭 Like @Elmo said bts is not just competing with other kpop idols anymore, they’re now being compared to other artists around the world. Even when you look at their solos. Some of their work is Grammy worthy like RM for example. I’m telling you if it was written by a white dude, it would’ve already been nominated. BTS also built Big Hit/Hybe. LITERALLY😭 They MADE that building, no other group can say that really. So, yeah bts exceeds just the concept of ‘kpop’ And like how @Honey said, Justin Bieber is more worldwide known not including his singing abilities, but bc of the English language is more widely spread and popular when it comes to music. It’s still impressive tho how widely known bts is with the language barrier being Korean. They even explain that in the RoB episode here abt this. I’m so happy you guys got my point😁😁🫶

Nanami's Wife

I also believe they’re either working on a deluxe of ARIRANG or they’re making a new album. It makes sense if they’re starting now on it since kpop idols be making albums back-to-back either between a couple of months to a year or 2

Bri 🦔

BTS actually have mentioned using all the songs they worked on for future projects that’s why they never talked about it in full detail

S Moonchild⁷

It is them celebrating their first win! First milestone and their parents attending the concerts. Yoongi's parents were not happy with his career choice at first, so it was a big moment for him to see them there. I think Justin Bieber is a legend, I guess BTS is on the same level. The thing is BTS is very big worldwide, while some countries know Justin bieber as casual listeners, might know some of his popular songs from radio. While Army is a more dedicated fanbase

StackingSpaghettiSauce

I’m sorry but army saying that bts are beyond kpop is my ultimate pet peeve. Their music doesn’t sound significantly different than any other kpop artist. (They have their own style, yes, but I wouldn’t put it in a different category) They contribute to their own songs but so do PLENTY of idols. They still submit their music to Kpop award shows and call themselves idols. I don’t understand why people act like they don’t. Why can’t they just be the most successful kpop idols? Why is it that as soon as they get Western attention, fans want to drop the “k”? People act like being in kpop is embarrassing or something to be grown out of. If that’s what you think, then stop listening to it

Tali90

Why dont they watch bonus and deleted scenes? Only one?

Nanami's Wife

@StackingSpaghettiSauce Ngl you’re lying if you saying their music doesn’t sound significantly different from any other kpop artists/groups. I want to preference by saying, I’m mostly talking abt ARIRANG when I’m comparing. Yes every other album bts did is Kpop, but to me around 2020, they started going the extra mile. And Kpop is not a genre, it’s an industry. IM SAYING THEY ARE BIGGER THAN THE KPOP INDUSTRY like omg😭 Nothing in kpop is original let’s start there. The genres they use heavily are hip hop, pop, rap, etc. Not even kpop groups/idols learned from the hip-hop/rap culture for themselves. It’s mostly imitation. Like rap is poetry and if kpop really acknowledged where it gets inspiration from, the more artists would be able to craft/develop their music more. With BTS, them actually going to America and learning abt hip-hop culture and rap benefitted them musically. Not a lot of kpop groups experienced that or can say the same. And them working with other producers internationally helped them craft their music as well. After Dark & Wild they went into the Youth concept. That era is very Kpop. Even though they’re still Kpop, you can tell how much they are evolving musicality wise. Also their influence around the world is sooooo important bc Kpop has always been in Korea. Yes, the boys are still Kpop idols and will not be ashamed to admit that. But like Suga said, if he wasn’t an ‘idol’ the other rappers would be pissing themselves. Them being kpop idols and being from a small country like Korea, are becoming more recognized around the world and their music is reaching to so many people. That is sooooo inspiring. Yes, other groups paved the way for kpop BUT bts really broaden the way entirely. So yes, bts has exceeded the norms of typical kpop. And there’s nothing wrong admitting that. And idk where you’re getting “western attention wants them to drop the k” NO ONE IS SAYING THAT Bruh we’re saying that these guys has went far and beyond to not just be restricted into one category and that being kpop. Literally bts declined the Grammy nomination bc they were restricting them in the ‘kpop’ category. They themselves see them more than just ‘kpop’. All in all, BTS IS KPOP, no denying BUT they’re bigger than the industry now and yes that’s due to worldwide influence

Nanami's Wife

ALSO In Korea, you know the impression of bts is no longer an idol? When they mention a list of people Koreans are proud of, bts goes in there. You can know BTS without knowing K-pop, but you cannot know K-pop without knowing BTS. Simple as that. (Blackpink is one of the most biggest girl groups that’s up there with bts BUTTTT their music is still very kpop AND their influence in my opinion is not even as close to bts. Comparing them will give you a good idea as why bts exceeds kpop way more)

deesi

tbh vlive/vapp was losing a lot of money and was going to be shutdown regardless. hybe acquiring it meant that all the content could be transferred to weverse and wouldn't be lost to the void

Dreamer

I mean, with all the hate Joon and Hobi received recently, they have a lot to say, so a new album is only fair.

Dreamer

I think you can't measure an artist's fame by Instagram followers or monthly listeners. JB is backed up by the Western industry, played on the radio, and doesn't have to fight discrimination. Instagram followers, JB has been on Insta for years, the members only opened their accounts before their military service, JK deleted his, and who knows, might delete it again if he wakes up and feels like it. I feel like BTS is not less famous, it's simply that people hate the fact that ARMY likes them, that they have ARMY. Because if you notice, every time something about them comes up, someone will know who they are but they will always start with "oh those guy, I don't get the hype. the fans are crazy about them." so is not that they don't know them, is the fact that they don't like that the fanbase supports them the way we do, until they give them a chance. JB was treated the same when he was young, too. He used to call his fans crazy for him, and men didn't like him, until he had all his problems. Suddenly, they realized he's human and now treat him better and support him.

Rae

Instead of the bonuses, react to the deleted scenes. They make more sense and are less cringe

its me abeer

No but it sounds like ur down playing kpop when it’s literally the system that created BTS it’s literally so cringe to me when I hear ppl say bts are more than kpop like kpop is some sort of disadvantage yeah I will never understand that they did not somehow became not kpop cuz they’re wildly known now I think YOUR not understanding me everything they were built on is kpop and they’re still kpop as fuckkkkk so like ?????? and I know that kpop is not a particularly a genre am saying kpop as in Korean popular music thats why I explained it in my other comment and cuz of everything that the word kpop holds as well in how the group is and how roles get given to members and crazy mv's and light sticks and the apps that kpop idols use and the whole kpop system BTS are doing just that as well

StackingSpaghettiSauce

Girl, I’m not trying to deny BTS’ success. They paved the way for mainstream popularity in the West. I just wish the language around their success was different. If the K-pop industry is a circle I view BTS’ success as so grand that it made the entire circle bigger. They set a new standard and redefined what is possible to achieve within the kpop sphere. Language like “beyond kpop” or “not really kpop anymore” imply the circle is the same size, BTS are just outside of it now. Doesn’t sound like paving the way to me. Maybe my previous comment came off as too hostile, but again this is sort of a pet peeve of mine. The whole issue with the Grammys is that they’re refusing to treat kpop artists the same as the Western ones. These phrases feel like you’re unintentionally doing the same thing. Like you’re saying kpop artists are inherently incapable of competing with Western artists so the fact that BTS does means we can’t call them kpop anymore. Like you’re saying that kpop IS a lower category that BTS are no longer a part of. Like you’re saying the Grammys were right to make the category but wrong to put BTS in it. I don’t think this is what you mean to say, but again, I just wish the language was different :/ Also, Arirang is a great album. I loved it. But level of artistry doesn’t decide what category of music (industry or genre) an artist gets placed in

Nanami's Wife

@its me abeer Huh?? Who is downplaying kpop?? I don’t even know how you can downplay kpop when it’s already a corrupted/culture appropriating industry😭 so I’m not even gonna get into that. But where did you get I’m downplaying?? And you brought up the system creating BTS, but not even the system helped out BTS entirely. It did give them a start tho. However, they were in with a small company, didn’t get recognition from their older peers, and they were treated significantly different in k-media. Yes, the Kpop industry makes it easy for groups to created a strong fanbase and loyalty which is a massive help to their success. But what you’re missing is how rare it is to succeed in kpop. Especially if you’re not in a big company like the big 3. The documentary pointed out the number of groups that gets produced in the industry each year/generation. BTS was able to come out of that and succeed to even higher levels starting from the ground. And BTS being authentic and themselves really made their fanbase more loyal to them. And not to mention talent. Yes, fanbases help A LOT with success but the talent and determination was there in the boys. Not saying other groups don’t have that, but when you compare to a worldwide scale, BTS is the most influential kpop group. So much so, I think they’re bigger than the industry itself and there’s nothing wrong acknowledging that. Trust, I understand what you’re trying to articulate but you’re failing to understand that I’m elucidating the impact BTS has created where I believe it puts them on a bigger map than just Kpop even tho they are still Kpop

Devyn ⁷ 🍉

it was only losing money because of weverse being created. bts no longer was vlives main artists to promote the app anymore. now you have to pay money to get what was free subtitles and free extra content from idols. half of the artists besides bts that i follow rarely ever go live on weverse so it a waste of money for paying fanclub memberships

Nanami's Wife

@StackingSpaghettiSauce I never said BTS is not kpop. They are kpop. I should’ve made that more clearly in my first comment, sorry. But I’m just saying they’re bigger than what the kpop industry is. I agree with you on bts setting a new standard where people perceive kpop in a different light or perspective. When I mean “they’re not really kpop anymore”, I’m more focusing on how they orchestrate their music now and influence worldwide. And there is certain image of kpop and bts don’t as much fit it nowadays in my eyes (that’s just me). I do think the boys’ growth and experience in different places has helped them evolved with their music and made them more successful. If anything I’m saying that BTS is edifying for other kpop groups. For example “never limit yourself”. Just because we speak Korean and are from this small country, doesn’t mean it’s not impossible to make an impact worldwide. I don’t even think the boys knew they could do that initially when they started. And the Grammys thing, idk where you got the fact I’m saying kpop artists are inherently incapable of competing with western artists. The whole issue with the Grammys was segregation and this doesn’t just happen to Kpop, another example is afrobeats. Award shows excluded African artists in a ‘Afro beat’ category when the music they make is not afrobeats. It’s very tone deaf and creates an environment where they still wanna keep western artists at a different category. So, my issue with the Grammys is that the excluded ‘Kpop’ section was disrespectful because they’re not even putting them against other artists. ARIRANG could’ve been a selection for ‘Best Album of the Year’ but no they choose to make a whole different category….. you see my point? After BTS declined, now the Grammys took away the ‘Kpop section’. So, clearly the world still has a certain lense on Kpop and fail to educate themselves on Kpop is not a genre it’s an industry. Yes, BTS is a Kpop group but the music they make is rap, hip hop, contemporary, etc. I hope I was able to explain that better🫶💜 I understand what you mean by wishing the language was different but I want to preference by saying I’m not trying erasing them being Kpop. If anything, I’m giving more credit. And same, I think the ARIRANG album was great and the direction of artistry was so good 😭

StackingSpaghettiSauce

My point with the “inherently can’t compete” part was that I’ve seen many people claim that BTS isn’t kpop simply because they’re more successful. Which implies that they think Korean acts CANT be successful without dropping their kpop identity. This sort of thinking feels exactly like the Grammy’s and very hypocritical to me. But I understand now that that wasn’t what you meant!

crushingit

I’d really appreciate if you guys were able to keep the captions on the screen for the recording that we see! I know you guys have captions I’m glad you have them turned on, but I can’t follow along cuz idk what’s being said in the video 💔😭

Nanami's Wife

Dw worry, I get what you mean! Im definitely not saying you can't be successful without kpop identity. There is proof you can be. I'm just saying their success exceeds most. As for the Grammys, if the boys really wasn't offended by the 'kpop' category, they would've still put in arirang but they choose not to bc of that. And I know it's bc they felt like segregated, but I also can see what u mean by it being hypocritical. But I totally understand what you're saying!! ❤️

Samookie

Just to add to this concersation, you can see it already in the way they promote ARIRANG they never did it with any korean program only with other type of promotion (netflix, google, youtube, spotify,..) it was an unuasual and new way to promote, i don’t know what your opinion on that but it’s not like a kpop things to do and they never attend any kpop award show or anything to do with korean media. Don’t get me wrong it’s just what i noticed so that’s why i understand the argument on "beyond kpop" and i understand why, the argument of "their music is different" because we can hear the way they mature from their past music, .. Even their MV’s feel different and in some way mature as well so i can understand both view point

Sam

If you guys react to the most beautiful moment in life album react to young forever it’s a combination of part1 and part 2

mina

who is the editor for gek-pop? somehow, wrong generated subtitles are always left on the videos and the ones we actually need are off😭😭

Sarah

wait will there be a reaction today?

Nanci

10:20 VLive was a platform service launched by Naver Corp, a huge search engine and internet content company, like South Korea's Google. BTS quickly became THE largest presence on VLive. Big Hit later created a platform of their own, Weverse, for BTS, to protect them from abuse on other platforms. Weverse became so huge that it swallowed VLive whole - quite literally, they bought them out. Now Weverse is the premier artist/fan engagement platform in South Korea for all kinds of idols, including actors and some western artists, but it was made for BTS and is still owned by their company. Suga/Yoongi's parents were the most opposed to his career path of all the member's parents, though all the rappers faced some resistance from their parents (except j-hope's GOATed Mom.) Suga fought bitterly and often with his parents, and he ended up moving out of his home while still in high school and living at an artist crash pad before signing with Big Hit. The concert shown here is in May of 2016 and was the first time his parents had come to one of their shows or showed support for his career path. It was a full six years after he signed with Big Hit and three years after BTS debuted. He was overwhelmed with emotion and when he bowed to thank them for being there he just broke like a dam.

You are correct, BTS are home in SK now for a break. Though they are done with their North American and European tour dates unless they add more later, the tour is continuing until April 2027. Their South American tour dates begin in early October, and they have tour dates in Australia, Hong Kong and the Philippines starting in February 2027.

Hard disagree that the lyrics of "I Need U" are disconnected from the MV. That's just not correct. There are multiple layers going on, as per usual, in BTS songs. Things have more than one meaning. The song and the visuals are layered.

Ayo Bee

Rather than not having anything to do with the mv, the song has a different connotation than you'd think. The "I need you, girl" was actually supposed to be more like "I need you, friend" but clearly that's not as catchy and doesn't really fit right, so they just swapped it out. When you put it with the original lyrics, it ties perfectly with the BU.

People also underestimate just how much of an impact radio and big companies have. They'll drive you crazy with the amount of times they play it on the radio, put it into curated playlists, which count towards monthly listener, plan Tiktok sound bits until you think the song organically got popular. I listen to A LOT of music and am really picky about which songs go in which playlist, so I notice how many times "popular" songs are just snuck into a playlist Spotify curated for "me" when I showed no indication that I liked these artists or songs. Even if I take BTS out of the equation, it still annoys tf out of me.

Elmo

That would be nice but I don't think they'll ever react to a full length album in one go again, let alone a combo album. It's too much to sit in one go and take in.

Sarah

I hope they do new songs instead of features fr

ChooseYoFightaaaa

Right. Because ain’t no way Drake is genuinely bigger than BTS this year when he couldn’t even outrank Kendrick in the battle era and the following years. Social media-curated playlists, media play, and radio pushes got locals convinced that BTS aren’t literally and incomparably at the top. Justin beiber is a pop icon, yes, but lately? Compared to BTS? Worldwide? And with their solo careers and tours? Nah

kooskyu

but it was the same with vlive before, there are no free subtitles during the live and we have to wait for days to have the subtitles. and same again with vlive for the contents, the artists decide whether its a paid content or not.

Why the hell are you so focused on that? Who cares if bts is kpop or not. She was talking about JB and bts. She’s not wrong that bts isn’t in the same level as other kpop groups. And now you’ve made it into a whole fucking argument.

Jazzy_bear ⟭⟬

werent we supposed to have a video drop last night?

Dreamer

Right, and worldwide, let's talk about worldwide. JB might be known, but BTS are at the same level. But honestly, BTS is less well-known. Why? Because they are not problematic. Let's be realistic, many popular artist become super known yes, for some of their music, a few hits, but their scandals help too. BTS doesn't do that. They are very careful with their image, but the day one of them does something wrong, like really wrong, then the fame will be over the top, but not for the artistry, and that's not what they want.

Dreamer

Right! How come all these artists that released music after BTS but didn't do as well as them are still on the popular lists, but not BTS's songs when they're the ones everywhere? This is just the US. Worldwide, we can all see the crowd BTS can pull up. Can other artists do that other than MJ? They're about to hit Latin America, which will be eye-opening for people. If Mexico was crazy, I can't imagine the rest of Latin America.
