Great reaction,Larissa!Like I said before, this is kind of a fun episode!Sam will fall in love several times in the series, but, unfortunately,he can't stay long!He has to leap out of there and help someone else in a different time and that person that he leaped into has to come back!It is kind of sad for him. But,at the same time,he helps alot of people change their lives for the better!

I don't hate "A Portrait For Troian",but,it's my least favorite episode of this season! There's episodes that are in season 5 that I think are worse than that episode! There was'nt any episodes this season or the next 2 seasons that I downright despised, though!

I think Scott Bakula did perform in this play a few years before he was on QL!

That guy that Sam understudied for was a real jerk and it would've served him right if Sam would've just let him fall, but,Sam being Sam,he was'nt going to let that happen.

Larissa,I'm sure people don't act that way in most theaters, now in the 2020's,but,back in 1979,I believe it was the norm!I would'nt really know, because,I was just 3-years-old that year and have never been a part of that life.

Great reaction to a beautiful and fun episode, one of the standouts of the series for me. Yes, Sam's actor Scott Bakula performed his singing for the musical, and the character Ray that he plays here mirrors Scott own early career, since he started out performing in both Broadway and off-Broadway productions. I'm glad you pointed out the somewhat unusual focus on Sam's personal struggle with Leaping and the relationships that he builds during a Leap which then have to be left behind when he moves on; this will continue to be a recurring theme throughout the show. On a personal note for me: the musical portrayed in the episode, Man of La Mancha, was one of several shows I performed in during my brief community theater career. And yeah, there could sometimes be some backstage drama and romance when I was there, though nowhere near as extreme as shown in the episode. Finally, I am actually looking forward to A Portrait for Troian; it's another of my favorites, and stars Deborah Pratt, who I not only consider a good actress, but she was also the co-creator, executive producer, and head writer of Quantum Leap alongside her (now ex-) husband Donald Bellisario.
