What's the timeline of the next episode

Another great reaction 👍 It's been awhile since I watched this episode, and while it's pretty average, I do think it's a good example of Sam doing what he can to keep a hard-working, decent family from getting exploited, not by doing anything fancy but simply by helping those involved to do the right thing. As for Manuel and Celia suddenly getting together at the end, I do think the writers were trying to show their romantic interest in eachother in the first victory party at the start, although I agree they probably could've emphasized it a little more throughout the episode. In case you're not familiar with the term, by the way, the episode title refers to those chosen for the All-America team, an honor given annually to the best college football players in the United States at their respective positions. I like to think the title also has a double meaning, though, referring to the fact that immigrant families like the Vegas and the Martinezes are as thoroughly American as anyone else, a poignant message both then and now. Since you may not be familiar with Jane Fonda: she is a veteran actress of films and television, spanning from the 60's right up to the present day. She's also known for her political activism, and during the 1980s produced a series of workout videos that helped spawn a fitness trend, particularly among baby boomers (hence Sam using her aerobic technique with the players). Pepe Serna, who played Eddie's dad Manuel, is also a veteran actor of a great many films, one of which you actually saw recently: The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai. Serna played Reno Nevada, one of Buckaroo's team. As far Sam leaping beyond the late 20th century, normally that would be impossible, since Sam's String Theory of time travel states that a person using his method can only travel back and forth within their own lifetime (as first explained in the Season 1 episode "Star-Crossed"). Since Sam was born on August 8, 1953, he theoretically can't travel earlier than that year, and though we of course can't know the date of his death, the future limit of his travels is generally accepted to be sometime in the 1990s (when Sam first leapt). The show's creator Don Bellisario wanted to make the stories fit within a general timeframe of (at the time) recent history in order to help make it more relatable to the audience, and avoid some of the cliches that other time travel stories into the far future or past often have. Whether the show will ALWAYS follow this rule, though, I can't say...😉
