An important step in the process (Patreon)

You guys, back in October of last year, I shared a cover of The Skye Boat Song (Outlander Theme). While I was happy with the arrangement, I did not record the final bridge and chorus because I couldn’t figure out how to make the full song not feel repetitive. For this reason, I wasn’t ready to submit it for distribution.

I love this song and really want to share it. So, I’ve been reworking the arrangement to add these missing elements. Had to spread out the build up so the song keeps moving forward.

It’s still a work in progress. What I wanted to show you is how I like laying everything down. Every idea, every little melody… every instrument possibility. And this is the overcrowded arrangement that I will then clean up and pick and choose what stays and goes.

Vocals are not final. There are instrument wrong notes here and there because what’s important is capturing the feel of what a melody or instrument will do.

Overall, I’m super happy with how it’s turning out. I hope you like it, too!
