Hahaha! It went down just as Omi ended his stream. You did such a beautiful job on this song. It's probably my favorite Christmas song you recorded to date. The harmonies are just breathtaking. I'm so happy and flattered that you included the cute Thornament. It made the song even more special to me. Thor is so cute seeking attention. I can imagine hearing a ton of squeaks here and there. And yes, the gold light worked out perfectly! Also, I personally think it would be weird for you to not look into the camera every now and then. But in the end, I'm sure you'll decide to do what works best for you. Either way, you have done such a great job!! I will stop writing. I can write A LOT! Love ya! <3

Yay blooper reel 😂 Your laugh is so contagious! Thanks for the video 😀 P.S. the "Digital Album" links on the SN video are still broken.

Tomas Almlöf

Thanks for sharing! Too funny with Thor :)

TheAlb

Very nice SN video (The arrangement fits so well. I do like the camera work as well .. the movement and zooming at the beginning, the gold light screen, etc :) ) and thanks for sharing the above video as well. Personally it feels natural to me when you look into the camera. But in the end, as Chanda said, you need to decide what feels good for you. As a suggestion so, if you want to try "not look into the camera" might be setting up a focus point, something very destinct from the surrounding (e.g. a big black dot on a white "poster") at a distance from the camera. This might help focusing away from the camera without slipping back onto the camera. Altering the distance between camera and "focus point" you could do some test recordings to see if you like it, at what "points" you like it opr not like it .. or so?

I love these check-in videos :). Can't wait for the next one. Silent Night is one of my all-time favorite Christmas songs, and you nailed it! The recording is beautiful and gave me goosebumps <3.

And I loved the video too! <3 You look amazing in it! And I agree that simple is good. Less is more!

I loved the video and shared it with whole my office at work. Everyone loves it! Thor clearly just wanted love and attention from you and Omi, but the outtake is hilarious. Thought I'd throw in that there are a few times in your video that you do the 'not looking at the camera' but you settle back in as that seems what is most comfortable/what you are used to. TheAlb has a good idea of setting up a focal point to draw your eyes from the camera too. You could even try a 3/4 angle I think is what it's called... where you are a full like 15 degrees off from the camera. Kind of between a profile shot from the side and a straight on. Dunno if that would be any better, but just an idea that I've seen! Give Thor a huge hug from us, and may this Christmas bring you and everyone much peace, happiness, and joy.

Thank you so much for sharing! I"m glad you like the vid! And yes, I look forward to trying that advice and the 3/4 angle the next time I film. I think... it's been what, 6 years of looking at the camera... it will take some time to grow out of that. hahahaha! Big hug to you guys, too, Mark! Have a wonderful Christmas!

The cool thing about the Thornament... This is our first Christmas tree (the other was borrowed from my mom), and when we were buying the decorations for it, I remembered a super cool tradition that a friend and her husband have. Every year, they get one special ornament to add to the normal ones. Something that represents an important part of the year. (For example, this year it was a tiny shoe, because their daughter started walking.) While shopping, I kinda looked around hoping to find something, but I didn't like any of the individual ornaments available, so we just bought a main kit. A few days later, without knowing it, you officially helped us start this tradition with the Thornament. It's perfect!!!!! You are the best. Love ya PandaaaaLandaaaa

Hahahaha! It was driving me nuts that I couldn't fix this earlier today because internet was still gone. hahahaha! And then I forgot. ˜Now, I just saw your comment again. Let me fix it. hahahahahaha

malukah

Ok, it's now fixed. hahahaha! Glad you liked the bloopers! :D

malukah

Hahaha! Always an adventure with Thor. hahaa Thanks, Tomas! :D

malukah

I will absolutely try this for the next video. And now, at least, I know that the amount of distance I thought I had from the camera lens is not enough. I need to look a bit further still! Thank you so much for watching, TheAlb! I'm glad you liked the vid and arrangement! :D

malukah

Yaaaaay! I'm glad you liked it, June Marie! Thank youuuu!

Chanda Panda

This is a great story! Isn't it amazing how at the time of feeling like you've left somewhere empty handed, you've actually gained something even better in the end? Everything happens for a reason. hehe...PandaPhilosphy 101. We started that same ornament tradition when my eldest daughter Leila was born. Every year she chooses one special ornament that has a special meaning to her (you can see what her interests were at the time: it went from My Little Pony, to Dora, & now Harry Potter!). Now it's Raina's turn. It's funny how her first was a polar bear. :D Needless to say, our tree every year is full of eclectic ornaments. It makes the tree more personal and extra special. I know you, Omi, & Thor will have fun adding to your own collection over the years. <3<3<3
