As I was preparing the extra song of the month to share, I decided to test out my newly improved mastering skills. The results will shock you.

(Not really, I was just able to improve the sound, as I hoped. hahaha!)

But I was so surprised myself that I wanted to share the comparison with you.

Thank you for the opportunities you help me find. <3

Endless Hugs,Malu

You seem to be doing the right thing to me... =) Always follow your heart, your passion! I donate because I want to help you be you, not be what people expect of you. And I keep finding that the more people are being themselves, the more touched I tend to get by what they do. I definitely hear an improvement after that mastering, makes me a bit more curious about learning such things myself actually... =)

Thomas Werwach

That what you made is great, Malu. Don't be afraid about us, we're here to support you because we love what you make ;) so, be happy and relaxed and, øystein has totaly right, follow you're heart. And give Thor a huge hug from me :D

Kristian Ask (St.Kizza)

I bet that when you first made and finished this song you thought to yourself "Done, nothing more can be done here" :-p This just shows that if you apply time and knowledge, everything can be polished into a diamond. It is so cool to see that the lessons actually payed off! Really happy for you! Keep improving and the "masters of mastering" will have serious competition someday :-D

Jennifer (Little Pumpkin)

you are doing things right because you are who you are. we don't wanna have a different Malu. We love you with all your weirdness.

Molmod

Mastered version sounds richer and sweeter, not just louder. Looks like the class was useful. On the other topic : I vote for keeping the Malu Chanel they way it is. I totally agree with Thomas...

Chanda Panda

Wow, what a difference! And thank your for bringing out your beautiful harmonies (my favorite <3). Keep doing what you're doing because you're doing a fantastic job. Once you start compromising your authentic self, you will begin to lose a small part of who you are. Make music and videos to your standards and try not to compare your art to others. Besides, a flashy music video is not what makes me a supporter...unless it is a 70s disco cover of despacito. Hee hee!

iMusBcrazy

Malu.. so glad to here you are benefiting from our pledges by increasing your knowledge and using the pledges to do what you genuinely love. I am sure I can speak for everyone who has pledged ..Please just do what fills your heart with joy and share that with us. I would also echo what @Chanda Panda said I couldn't agree more. well not he disco part .. it burns my ears :) Stay Real Malu you are loved by many !!!

June Marie (CosmoDings)

You are definitely doing the right thing. And the right thing is what feels right for you. Who you are is why we love you! <3

malukah

Big hug, Little Pumpkin. Thank youuu! <3

malukah

I will pencil in this disco video shoot. hahahahahaha! :D hahaha can you imagine me in a disco outfit? Oh, crap. Please do not gift me this outfit next year. hahahahaha

malukah

And thank you for saying that, Panda. <3

malukah

I truly appreciate that, iMusBcrazy. Thank youuu <3

malukah

Thor has been hugged! <3 haha! Thank you for what you wrote Thomas :D

malukah

Yeah, EXACTLY. That's the most incredible part. That when you think there in no more room to grow... time shows you differently. And it's super cool. Thank you, St.Kizza!

malukah

It definitely was useful! And I still have a lot of practicing and learning to do, but I now know the main steps clearly. The rest will come with time and repetition. It's such a difference from before where I felt clueless. <3

malukah

Øystein, thank you very very much for this. <3 And if you're ever curious to see more about mastering, there are tons of videos on Ozone 8, the software I'm currently using for Mastering! It's super cool. And also in general, I remember the site Lynda.com has a class on Mastering that was a pretty good overview!

TheAlb

That is a quiet a difference. I'm glad that we can support you in acquiring these skills. Judging by your enthusiasm and the joy you display every time you talk about mastering, it feels like it is definitely the right decision and the right path for you :). It feels like it is you. In the end one can always look and do what others do. Sometimes it is ok, sometime it isn't the optimal thing. However you have to find your own way of expressing it and it shows / will show that it is your way and mastering is certainly something you do well. :) That doesn't prevent you from experimenting with other means (e.g. video setting, location, style, etc.), but it has to feel right to you when you do it ... in the end it has to be you. Malu Musician and Music Engineer (the engineering part is something I can related to from my own non musical work) .. well done :).

This video is blocked in Mexico for some reason! I wasn't able to watch it. What is the name of the song? Maybe I can find it in another place :D

Friend From The West

Awe :( Wish I knew. It's from an anime. I looked of the lyrics and couldn't find the name. It's a beautiful song though, you is all it needs :) Maybe vimeo link will work, but if not, I still get to listen to all the extraordinary work you do :) https://vimeo.com/275435929

Thomas Werwach

Thomas Werwach

This link works for me.. ist's a nice song... ;) thanks for sharing

GregRauv

Ha, great job with the mastering! Classes are paying off :D It's like a difference between listening to the song and hearing it playing in another room.

malukah

Yes, this worked for me, too! Pretty song for sure! :D

malukah

It was so nice to hear the version in its original language, too!
