With a jumping camera it looks very funny hahaha. A very fast piano playing is so cool and so difficult. Train your fingers :)

malukah

hahaha! true! The jumpy camera adds character. ahahaha and I muuust practice very much!

Hi. Enjoyed this as the piano is my instrument :-) Had to go off to the keyboard to look at how I place my hands. I couldn't remember without keyboard in front of me (black and white, not qwerty!). Probably a bit more curved than you but you do sometimes need to be flatter - maybe for a big stretch? p.s. any tips for playing from memory? I can only play three (simple) pieces without the sheet music and they go rusty really quickly if I don't work on them. p.p.s Nice piano :-)

Aeqificales

go climbing! we climber got to have strong fingers :P

lol Nice Honky Tonk. We have an old Baldwin upright with the soundboard of a baby grand and yes it sounds soon much better than electric. But a bit hard to carry around :/ And I feel you Malu, I played Guitar for years while just messing with the piano. I could make the guitar sing / cry/ scream/ etc and was fun and I could only play simple songs and melodies with the piano. Sadly I am no longer able to play Guitar and still stuck on simple with the piano :/ Ahh Well ........ It also doesn't help that I now help Lara with her channel and when I try to play after watching her I realize just how BAD I am :/

Anthony James Robinson

Hahaha this is why I said screw the keyboard and picked up the guitar again the other day! Just remember that Slash wouldn't be badass Slash if he played the piano :P Guitar>piano - less than three (Your mams house is really nice btw)

Heidi

You're still very good at playing though :D I haven't played in years (piano is at my parents' house) and have forgotten a lot. I always had issues getting both hands to work together on a song so I guess I kinda stopped :P I liked trying all the different instrument sounds since it was an electronic piano. Thanks for sharing :)

malukah

Oooh, electronic pianos can be fun with the varying sounds. I remember I grew up playing normal piano, and the first time I tried a super old fashioned electronic one it was the coolest thing. hehe! And my biggest issue with piano... or with any instrument really... is that I struggle with playing consistently well. I can never perform perfectly, or close to perfect. I fumble. Always. And it always seemed like it wasn't going to ever change. A fumble on the piano is harder to recover from than a fumble on the guitar. Or so I find.

malukah

Hahahaha! :D That's very true. And thank you, I'll tell my mom you complimented her house!

malukah

Hahahahaha! Lara is amazing. I think all of us feel like we have room for improvement after hearing her play. hahaha! She's such a natural, no? Super cool. :D And the upright Baldwin piano sounds lovely! I understand your pain in having to ever move it, but I imagine it's an effort well worth it!

malukah

hahahahaha! ARE YOU CRAZYYTYYYY? It's way too HI-EEE-AH-AIII-AIIIGH FOR MEEEE! hahahaha! :D hahaha In all seriously, I wish I could experience climbing. Seems like such an adrenalin-y kind of sport!

malukah

Hahaha! It's cool you went to check your piano form. :D And hmm.... Tips for playing from memory... I struggle with this, but something that has helped me, is making sure to focus on practicing the transitions from one song section into the next. If you have for example on a piano piece, Theme A for 8 measures... you practice it, very nice. Then you move on to the next 8 measures for Theme B.... BUT WAIT. Don't forget to practice The last 2 measures of Theme A going into the first 2 measures of Theme B. Does this make sense? Just to get those transitions memorized in your muscle memory and so you don't spot after Theme A wondering... hmmm what's next? hehehe! Hope this helps!

Molmod

Thanks for the tips. I'll give it a try

firjii

Really? You think you can't play? I've spent about 12 years trying to learn a song much, much easier than that one. <3

malukah

Haha! Well, I can't play this song anymore without messing up a bunch. hehehe! :D
