Background

Following the festivities in the gardens, you try to make it back to your quarters in the guest wing. Stumbling through the various halls and courtyards, you are certain that you are hallucinating. Ethereal scenes of otherworldly beings dance around you in the moonlight, at times just barely flickering on the edge of your vision and at others so close and real you can feel their presence.

You catch a glimpse of your own reflection in the still surface of the lagoon only to gasp in shock as your features have also become that of the hallucinated beings. You trip and fall into the water only to start awake seconds later in your bed.

I'm slightly confused by the long staircase in the building at bottom right - it appears to go up three flights, while at the other end of the complex there are only a few steps down. Is the causeway across the bottom of the map a ramp sloping up from right to left?

Simon 'Landmine'

Oh, and is there a reason why you don't provide keys for the free fantasy maps, the way that you do for the modern maps? Sometimes it's not quite clear what the intended role of a room (or group of rooms) is. Ta!

Hi Simon, there are full keys and design notes in the Patron only versions of the packs. There is usually too much information to fit it on the map itself like I do for the modern maps.

Judging by the layout, the passageway leading off the map to the right would lead to the Audience Hall, while the left-hand of the two passages at the top would be the kitchen access to the Gardens, which suggests the potential for a fourth map which sits at 'top right' of the complex ... or it could just be a small map with a left turn connecting the right-hand of the two exits at the top to the bottom-right entrance to the Gardens map. (Yes, I am probably overthinking this, but I like whole connected palace complex idea! :-) )

Both top hallways lead to the gardens, one is the main entrance, the other is the servants entrance.

I find most battle maps about as inspired as the background graphics of 1988’s ‘Contra’ - but this is really very cool. Looks like a legit architecture design with some real tactical challenges for assault teams. 👍👍

Hi Tom Cartos, I just wanted to let you a comment once after using a lot of your work to let you know I love your job and the maps you created I use it a lot in my different games. This for exemple will be the palace of the princess of Wyzima who is getting married after the assassination of her dad the king Foltest in the universe of The Witcher ;)
