Inns, Taverns & Hotels

Floating Tavern

Finras Nightbeam had always dreamed of owning his own tavern. A lively spot where locals and travellers alike would convene, share stories and make merry late into the night. He saved money, made the right connections with local breweries and merchants and spent time working in other establishments to learn the ropes.

He had two locations in mind that he felt would be perfect for his new tavern, directly on either the east or west side of the Sarrios river where travellers come to seek passage across the open stretch of water. Unfortunately however, both of these spots are controlled by rival gangs who charge ‘protection’ for any businesses looking to set up.

Finras had no intention of being under the thumb of either group so instead chose to build his Tavern beyond their reach, right in the middle of the waterway. What started as a single pontoon with a roof and stools has grown into a sprawling collection of rafts and buildings. This has infuriated the gangs, and the success of his business has made them envious. They occasionally make attempts to take it from him, but between the open water and protection from his loyal customers, they have yet to succeed.

Hideouts & Lairs

Goblin Lair

Jealous of their larger Orc brethren, the Goblins of Clan Snakerot have fashioned their own ‘stronghold’ of sorts in the mountainside. Between the waterfall overlook, hastily built palisade and cunning traps they feel pretty secure and are rather smug about it.

To make sure they can really rub in their superiority over Clan Vargash, they have even been breeding Worgs en-masse in a pit that the creatures are quickly outgrowing. Boss Rachit has ensured his followers that his well-engineered pen will keep the worgs contained until they are needed, although he is starting to have some doubts in private.

Into the Wilds

Caves 04 Complete Bundle

Storage Room - This natural cave just below the local tavern serves as a nice cool storage space and definitely is not used for anything else at all. Nope.

Wall of Power- The ancient carving in the stone hums with power, calling to one born for it.

Forgotten Temple - Over centuries the rock has slowly reclaimed this forgotten temple. Is there any remaining connection to the forces once worshipped here?

Twisting Tunnels - These tight dark passageways feel never-ending. Were it not for the occasional markers along the wall the maze would be almost impossible to escape. Who made the marks, and what have they been doing so deep below the surface?

Boutique Hotel Exterior Scene

Sarrios Bay is a much-loved destination for tourists and holiday-makers. The natural terrain of the Epicoatl foothills combined with the view over the bay makes for a breathtaking vista. It is close enough to Dorran for the elite class to regularly travel to their weekend homes, and being situated along the major land and sea trade routes means there is no shortage of visitors.

As with any wealth-driven destination, there is also a strong undercurrent of criminal activity looking to siphon off some of the non-stop flow of gold. Many of the business owners are involved in or at least aware of the scams and cons being run on a daily basis, but so long as it doesn’t undermine their profit they are none too worried.

There are some enterprises however that would draw the ire of the Dorran guard were they discovered. Certain goods that are not allowed into the City are instead smuggled in around the bay and transported into the city via ‘mules’. Wealthy individuals who, willingly or not, will bring the valuable goods back into the city in their luggage, knowing full well that the guards are far less likely to search them than the regular citizens.

Dilnarsa Dahandeh - Once a mere cleric of Ocean's Breath, Dilnarsa was the sole survivor of the Cult of the Toads attack on her temple. She now leads the rebuilding efforts and continues to care for the people of Samarahd according to the temples longstanding tenets.

Zambu Rakchi - Camel racing in Samarahd is not just a sport, but a cultural touchstone. The most successful riders and their camels are practically celebrities in the city and many retired racers have gone on to become prominent members of society when their careers have ended. Zambu Rakchi is one such decorated former rider, and now proprietor of the Samarahd Camel Racing Arena.

Unanswered Rites by Alex LeFort - 4th to 6th Level

Decades ago, the high priestess of a seaside temple was cursed by her deity for driving out her fellow clergy and attempting to steal a portion of the god’s divine power. Transfigured into a medusa, the priestess has remained at the temple, wracked by guilt and habitual in her daily rites for penance as the structure has fallen to ruins around her. Those foolish or unlucky enough to approach the temple in the years that have passed have been petrified by her gaze.

Can the party venture into this coastal lair and put the monstrosity out of its misery? This adventure takes place in Cartosia, but can be easily adapted to feature in any campaign setting featuring coastal temple ruins.

Deep within the deserts of Samarahd, the Temple of the Eye Resplendent has hosted a lineage of oracles who claimed descent from a legendary sphynx’s mortal consort. Now, centuries of tradition have been desecrated, as a lamia imposter has deposed the sitting oracle and installed herself in their place. Business is not quite as usual—every so often, a supplicant to the Temple disappears, feasted on by the lamia.

Can the party intervene to end this deceptive and murderous occupation before the sinister creature claims more lives? This adventure is set in Cartosia, but can be easily adapted to feature in any campaign setting featuring a desert oasis.

Fence’s Frock for 5e & PF2E

The exterior of this duster length leather coat is well worn with obvious signs of extended use. It fits comfortably and is surprisingly light for how robust the materials that make it up seem to be. A shroud is hung within the hood, making it a perfect garment for those that wish to keep their face hidden. Inside the coat are twelve leather pouches that range in sizes and shapes, though each of them opens to the same extra-dimensional space inside.
