Hey Everyone,

After the release of my Ostenwold module earlier today, I have had quite a few requests for more Foundry ready Map Modules, possibly as a higher Tier Patreon reward.

I would like to see how many of you use Foundry, or are thinking of using Foundry, and if this is something you would like to see more of from me in the future.

I would really appreciate it if you can answer the poll and leave any comments or questions you may have below.

Thanks!

I’m all for foundry additions!

Elvolganta

Never used it, I do well without Foundry..

Drunemeton

Yes, please. Thank you!

I'm still waiting to make the switch from roll20. Letting them work out kinks and I need more time off work to learn a new VTT system. (My players and I are excited and see amazing things)

John Ackley

Yes, I'm moving everything to Foundry - run my own server on DigitalOcean already for a fantasy campaign we've been running for years. Thanks for the work on this.

Robert Trifts

Tom, in case you are wondering, I downloaded your Map pack for Foundry and came here to thank you for it. I am not YET running Foundry, though I do own it and plan to use it when its support for Pathfinder is more robust (they aren't there yet). Its 5e support, however, is "there". I currently use D20Pro, by the way - and have more than eight years. I am a monthly supporter of Heroic Maps Patreon and have been since its inception on Patreon - and for many years before that just buying off of DriveThru. Anyway, sometimes as a map creator, you wonder if your release of something for a new VTT made sense and if people are interested in your work as a result. Q; Did it work? A: Yup. Sure did.

I use the ostenwold maps in Roll20.

Do the maps still work in roll 20? By the way I love the mix of maps and assets. Will that continue if you do more modules, or will that part of your patreon decrease? You create some great stuff.

Hi David, there would be no change to existing Patreon rewards, those would all stay the same and still work on Roll20 and other platforms. The Foundry Map Modules are like Dynamic Lighting in Roll20, the walls, lights etc are all pre-set when you load them in. This would be an extra reward for those who are interested.

Silveressa

I'm still using Roll 20 currently, until Foundry catches up to the features R20 has I don't see much point to switching. That and switching would take several weeks worth of moving tokens, maps, handouts etc over which is tbh a giant PITA I'm likely to avoid doing until Foundry offers something significantly better than R20s current capabilities.

Foundry is amazing! Love the module. Thanks. Please include some first person views., Thanks Tom!

Jeff Slocum

I love Foundry so much. I find it much easier to use than Roll20. The modules that some of the individuals make for it take it over the top.

tim posney

I use foundry and would not really think of using another vtt. If you are looking to release more foundry ready maps let me know as I have done the work of doing walls for the asylum, mint, justice hall, hotel, theatre, archivist hall, bazaar, so if you want the data let me know.

nilo_core

I use the Dungeon Painter Studio on Steam. I simply import maps and assets and then manually resize them one by one (it is a long thing but I do it only when I need it, a little at a time). So I will import the finished map on roll20 for dynamic lights while the sheets are on dnd beyond. It sounds complicated perhaps, but it works well for me.

But wait.. it's Roll20 that's way behind with features...

necxelos

Quite honestly, after You start using Foundry, there is no coming back to Roll20 or FG. It's just THAT much better in every possible way while having fair business model at the same time (I don't need to explain how pathological Roll20's software-as-service is). I would suggest releasing HD versions of maps for Foundry or at least going in-between current two resolutions You provide. I think most artists use 140 DPI as HD currently, which is in-between Your 300 DPI print ones and Your Roll20-tailored 70 DPI.

Joseph Donley

After seeing your maps today, I went looking for other patreon creators who are making maps with walls and lighting ready to import into foundry. I could only find one and I didn't like the style of his maps. Hoping you do decide to go this route.

Foundry and the free map pack we got is what made me find this page and the quality of these maps are awesome. Cannot wait to use them in my campaign. Ostenwold is now the starting city for my group. :)

Phergus

As I use MapTool, modules for Foundry hold no interest for me.

Hi Necxelos, my VTT maps are all 140dpi, it's only the free ones that are 72dpi.

Callum Sim

I would love more foundry content, but I think relegating it to higher tiers might be a bit prohibitive

Hi Callum, Unfortunately creating the modules would mean more work on top of what I am already doing, so I would likely have to hire someone else to do it, or spend longer hours myself, so it would need to be at a higher tier (probably $3 or $4).

Jeffrey Good

For what it's worth I use Roll20. Are Foundry maps compatible with Roll20 usage?

tomcartos

Hi jeffrey, all of my maps are compatible with any VTT software. The foundry map modules are also pre-set up with dynamic lighting and a few other things to make prep easier for DMs, but that part of it only works in Foundry.

Jenny Underwood

I came here from Foundry as well. This town? Makes throwing together an adventure so much more accessible! I Went to the 3 dollar level and there are map assets, overhead tokens, and adventures!? Sold. I am already looking for a small town murder mystery to use the maps with for a new game group.

I'm here because of your Ostenwold release on Foundry, and would love to see more Foundry ready maps.

I'm here and a backer because of your Foundry module. Hoping to see more and would definitely back that tier.
