Background

The Shilby family own a lot of the industrial buildings and factories in the lower class areas of the city, particularly around the docks where most of the import and export trade is done with other settlements in the region. It is generally well known in the area that most of the families business is of the illegitimate variety. Protection rackets, hostile takeovers, bribery and underground gambling are part of their daily routine, but they maintain a large legitimate front to keep the city police forces focussed elsewhere.

They use some of their warehouses to provide cover when importing contraband. A select few boxes among a greater load are marked in a way that the warehouse workers know to look out for, but under no circumstances are to open or meddle with. A smaller rival gang,  has ambitions of supplanting the Shilbys, and wants to know how the contraband is removed from the warehouse after delivery so they can plan an ambush. They are offering a large reward for anyone who can provide this information, and even more if they are willing to carry out the ambush itself. The local police would also be very grateful to actionable have information on both gangs.

Design Notes

Shilby Corporation Warehouse 01 Basement

• 01 – Loading – Hatch at 07above opens up to allow loading and unloading over cargo in the basement
• 02 – Hold – Items being stored for longer periods of time are kept in the basement
• 03 – Supply Shelves – Supplies owned and kept by Shilby Corp. are kept here. Secret door leads to 04
• 04 – Contraband Storage – Workers know to leave crates marked with a red ‘X’ in here, unopened. Only the foreman knows about the second hidden entrance used by the Shilby Corps less legitimate members that leads to the sewer system (05)
• 05 – Secret Tunnel – Leads to sewers

Shilby Corporation Warehouse 02 Ground Floor

• 06 – Warehouse Floor – Maze of well-stacked shelves cover the majority of the floor space. Cargo turnover is high with deliveries and exports happening daily. Stairs lead down to 02 and up to 12
• 07 – Loading Hatch – Items to be stored in the basement are winched in and out through here.
• 08 – Staff Area – Small rest area and toilets for warehouse staff.
• 09 – Yard
• 10 – Loading Dock – Crane lifts goods from delivery boats/wagons.

Shilby Corporation Warehouse 03 Catwalk

• 11 – Loading Area – Good bought in by boat or wagon are temporarily stored here before being sorted and moved to other areas of the warehouse.
• 12 – Catwalk – Upper walkways around the perimeter of the floor. Mainly used for access. Stairs lead down to 02
