Johnny Vegas (real name Michael Pennington) had real depths to him. He's clearly a man who has struggled with his mental and physical health but has a natural gift for observational character comedy with pathos. And it's no small task to read a poem in front of the Bard of Salford himself, the legendary John Cooper Clarke.

Johnny Vegas's stand up at the Comic Aid event for the Tsunami is well worth watching if you can find it.
