The biggest model in Warhammer 40k. Sculpted almost two decades ago. Weighs more than a small child (Nick would know). The challenge is real!

You get a first look at the progress Nick has made on the Manta.

I wanted to especially thank you for all being a part of making one of Nick's dreams come true. He has always wanted this thing and by reaching 1000 Patrons we could make it happen for him. Not only that but he has received private messages and help from this community to assemble or customize certain parts. From all of us at Play On we just cannot thank you enough.

Tau Manta is the most challenging miniature I have ever built!

"they're all happy to kill you" 😂😂

This is shameful that they sell this model in that condition. My Dad was a scale modeler and had stuff from teh 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. They were all done better than this. 20 years ago, tech was better than what FW is putting out. Really the only thing better is probably speed and the electronics miniaturization. Putting lights in things 20 years ago was tiny incandescent lights that could only be so small and certain colors. It's pretty cool what we can do now with LEDs

Great work Nick! Herculean effort! And super excited to see what you’ll eventually end up doing with it, in terms of war gaming content! The prospect of this project was the one that nudged me into finally supporting you to reach the 1K! So far the manta-journey you’re on has not disappointed! Thanks for your positive contribution to the hobby! You guys all rock!

What a great model. Had a lot of fun watching nick put it together!

Cant wait to see everyone's names on it, looks a bit more daunting than I expected it to be, but at least progress is going. I'm surprised the paint didn't want to stick, I haven't had any problems getting it to stick to resin myself

Hang in there Nick, it is coming alone nicely! If you get too frustrated with it, it could make for a good fish tank decoration!

That's awesome, can't wait to see more! Nick your enthusiasm inspired me to get back into 40k and of course it had to be with Tau!

Luke Mulholland

Well done Nick. A labour of love for sure. Can't wait to see it all ready to go.

Amazing stuff! As much as I was excited to see my name on the list knowing I may end up as a Tau fire warrior made the blood angel in me cringe….but it’s for you guys so it’s worth it 😜. Great to see you allowing your kids to be very much a part of it, it’ll no doubt inspire them to take it up themselves! Look forwards to a future Tau Nick vs Tau Nick juniors 😂

Vulkansbanhammer

well done nick! way to stay determined in the face of Forgeworld Resin!

Admittedly Squidmar is a full-time YouTuber with three staff members/friends/chapter serfs helping him. So you should not feel any shame about being behind in the construction.

As always Nick you're ever the devoured servant of the greater good. Truly a fantastic job brother and I applaud your dedication even in the face of so many set backs. Also don't sweat the proper name of your tools lol as long as it gets the job done ☺️

Nick can you make a video breaking down the new tau codex? your favorite and least favorite parts of it?

Gannoc

Nick pronounced decals as "dekkels" instead of "dee-cals". is that a Canadian thing? First time I've heard that.

Laurence Quinton

Doing great man, And my god you have a lot of patience ! It’s going to look TAUrific !!

Ørjan Nielsen

The fact that Nick did a codex review, and a teardown of the balancing of T'au put things in to perspective, and as a last ditch change I actually removed a hammerhead for broadsides for my upcoming 1v1v1 battle on saturday against nids and custodes. Wish me luck!

It's an honor to be on the Titan :)
