TBH. those opening work much better when you watch them alongside episodes, as they appear in show xD As for what Alchemy is in the show... it will be explained in the show. I may even raise my tier back up to 25 dollars for this series. You're about to see a series which ranked as number 1 on My Anime List for years, until Frieren finally dethroned it.

if you ever wanna watch fullmetal alchemist start with the earlier version. brotherhood is made with the thought in mind that they have to rush through everything that the original series already covered.

No? Earlier version simply dragged things out, cause they didn't have manga finished, and they ended up with a fillers filling half the series and the ending.

No Brotherhood just rushed things that it deemed people dont care about because it already happened in the earlier version and they wanted to get to the new stuff as soon as possible. the earlier version started to devert in the middleish part anyway. but its not like its a bad anime even then.

Pretty sure there is a reason why Brotherhood is consistently named as one of the best anime ever while no one talks about the earlier version.

While I agree that the cannon part of the original is done better and that it's still a great show that was just overshadowed by the much better one, realistically he's only going to be watching one so it should be FMAB

Also, I will say - this is the only anime which I can recommend watching in dub. Here it's actually quite good.

Maybe? But If he genuinely liked sao he is not that much of a hater anyway. So imo he will do both if it gets a good enough view rate.
